#924.5 - Tandemaus are comprised of a loving pair that will stick together no matter what. They demonstrate excellent teamwork, sharing any food they find equally between them and living and fighting in tandem. They are known to work together to raid houses in search of resources to build their intricate nests; using their incisors to cut pieces of material and ferry them back to their hidden den. A Trainer with a domesticated Tandemaus may be lucky enough to witness the growth of this young family, referred to as Matrimaus until the young are able to walk on their own. Wild Matrimaus hide their eggs and young away in secure, burrowed nests until they are old enough to join the family out into the world as Maushold, making the new little additions seem to appear from nowhere one day. The parents will protect their little ones during battles, though during tough fights, the whole group has been seen joining the fight.
Named: Tandemaus - Matrimaus - Maushold

#322.5 - Numel live near the base of volcanoes, drawn to the dormant magma beneath the surface. Numel store their own intensely hot magma inside the hump on their back, which often erupts as they age; remnants of the cool lava begin to form two small volcanoes on their back. Although they experience both internal and external transformations as they age, Numel are dull witted by nature, and are often unaware of these changes. As they grow older, anything that triggers their temper is likely to set off a violent eruption.
Named: Numel - Magmel - Camerupt [Old Version]
#323 Mega - Found in the craters of volcanoes, Camerupt are hot-tempered Pokemon with the ability to Mega Evolve, so long as they are paired with Cameruptite and a trainer they trust. Though their volcano-like humps are normally dormant, the energy of Mega Evolution causes their back to erupt, spewing molten lava in a constant eruption. Their thick coat becomes longer and denser, granting additional protection, while the magma within is superheated, causing additional damage to their foes. With an explosive personality and a short temper, Mega Camerupt have a deep hatred of moisture of any kind. Trainers must take care to keep their Mega Camerupt’s anger in check, and be wary that the Pokemon doesn’t exhaust its large internal stock of magma.

#092.5 - Gastly posses gas-like bodies that allow them to sneak into any place they desire; however, while they are young this gaseous matter can be dispersed by heavy winds. As Gastly grow, their bodies condense and they will begin to form spectral hands, which they will use to beckon their victims into the darkness. They also begin to develop a specialized neurotoxin that coats their tongues, which will paralyze victims upon contact. Maturing Gastly will begin to hunt humans, so trainers must be cautious before approaching wild Gastly or Haunter.
#093.5 - Haunter are very capable predators who survive in the wild by stealing their prey's lifeforce; the key to their evolution. They prefer hiding in darkness, where they can create illusions to lure potential victims. As they age, they will begin to hide within a person's shadow and stalk them throughout the day. Trainers who are looking to evolve their Haunter must find another way to provide them sufficient energy, such as the surge from electronically trading. Haunter who have satisfied their hunger have been known to pull harmless pranks.
Named: Gastly - Gheisture - Haunter - Spectrace - Gengar
#094 Mega - Despite wild Gengar's often sinister intentions, trained Gengar are known to be loyal to their trainers if treated well, and are capable of mega evolving if their bond is powerful enough. During the mega evolution process, Gengar will open a dormant third eye, which allow them to see into the dimensions they originated from and grants them additional special attack power. They will also sink partially into the ground, where they can unknowingly grab onto opponents' shadows and prevent escape.

#209.5 - Hiding behind Snubbull's frightening appearance is a kind and affectionate Pokemon that has an affectionate, playful nature. Because of this, Snubbull are often sought after as house pets, and are a popular choice among people looking for a Pokemon companion, rather than a battling partner. Behind their intimidating face, Snubbull are also quite cowardly - a trait they keep while evolving into their significantly more menacing final stage. As Snubbull evolve, they develop large fangs and a threatening stance; however, they rarely attack unless they've been enraged. They are able to dissuade most fights by opening their mouth wide to reveal their large fangs; if it comes to a battle, their bite is worse than their bark!

#919.5 - Nymble are nervous Pokémon found commonly in grassy areas. They possess a third set of legs located above their body that they keep folded up unless they need a quick escape or a powerful kick. When threatened, Nymble can use their extra legs to pokemonjump to a height of over 30 feet, allowing them to dodge attacks while dealing damage. As they age and grow stronger, they begin to develop sharp orange spikes and more powerful legs. As a mature Lokix, they can enter “Showdown Mode” to fight all-out, where they unfold their third set of legs and utilize them with swings and jumps to attack; however, they cannot be in Showdown Mode for too long, as it places a huge strain on their bodies. Fully evolved Lokix are strong and hardy enough to live in a variety of different areas in Paldea, such as grasslands, snowy mountains, deserts, and lakes.

#412.51 - Burmy are adaptive Pokemon that rely on their environments and construction skills to create a cloak of materials that keep them safe from the elements. Burmy who grow up in urban environments will often create a cocoon of pink building insulation, colloquially known as a “trash cloak,” while those in natural environments may make a cloak of leaves and sticks or sand and gravel, known as a “plant cloak” and “sandy cloak” respectively. They can easily replace shed or damaged cloaks, and will often use different materials while they are still young. As they age, female Burmy will stick with the material they like the best, for soon their bodies will begin to merge with their cloak, creating a permanent protective layer. Because of this, many different Wormadam body variations can be observed in the wild.
Named: Burmy - Cloakoon - Wormadam
#412.52 - Unlike female Burmy, male Burmy undergo an internal change while in their cloak cocoons, a transformation that is started once the individual has consumed and reserved a large quantity of calories. When it’s time, the Burmy will find a safe location – a tree, preferably – and attach their cloak cocoons to the underside of the surface using a sticky thread mixed with their cloak material. With the cocoon fully closed off, the Burmy will undergo an intense metamorphosis within. Though they may pop their head out of their cocoon near the end of their evolution, the Pokemon will not fully emerge until the metamorphosis is complete, and are able to fly to safety shortly after.
Named: Burmy - Shedwurm - Mothim

#088.5 - Grimer are born from polluted sea sludge, and they will instinctively seek out polluted areas to gather. These putrid-smelling Pokemon become larger and more toxic as they age by feeding off of the pollutants and filth they encounter in sewer pipes and alleyways. The residue they leave behind is so poisonous that even weeds won’t grow were they’ve gone. [Old Version]
#088.5A - Grimer were first imported to Alola when a population increase caused waste elimination to become a growing problem. Because Grimer were used to feeding on toxic pollutants, the switch in diet to Alolan garbage has caused a change to their body composition. What appear to be teeth are really just residual toxins that have been hardened and crystallized. As Alolan Grimer age, their appetite increases, causing them to search out more waste products and manufactured materials, which in turn creates more crystallized toxins to appear on their body. The accumulation of toxins begins to bring about a chemical change, creating new poisons within their sludge-like body.
Named: Grimer - Sludger - Muk

#273.5 - Seedot attach themselves to tree branches using the stem on their head, where they suck moisture and nutrients from the tree. By remaining still, they look like ordinary acorns hanging from a tree; however, they’re pranksters at heart and enjoy startling nearby Pokemon by moving suddenly. As they age, Seedot begin to outgrow their protective outer shell, but will carry it around with them for added protection. Maturing Seedot love to startle and scare Trainers who venture into their forest.
#274.5 - Nuzleaf live in holes bored into large trees. They are known for plucking the leaf on their head and making a flute. Nuzleaf play an unsettling song that strikes fear and uncertainty in the hearts of people lost in their forest. Nuzleaf age very slowly, and mature Nuzleaf - Shiftry - is a rare sight in the wild, found only in depths of ancient forests. They live quiet lives, but will attack anyone who enters their inner territory; they are feared by locals as forest guardians. Trainers looking to evolve their Nuzleaf within their lifetime can speed up the process by frequently exposing it to a Leaf Stone.

#827.5 - Cunning and cautious, Nickit are sly thieves that enjoy stealing food from others instead of spending their time finding food on their own. They are aided in their underhanded efforts by the soft pads on their feet, which allow them to move silently without notice, and their bushy tail, which sweeps away the evidence of their presence. As Nickit grow, they become more clever, secretly marking potential targets with a scent, enabling this crafty Pokemon to stalk the target and steal from them when they least expect it. Mature Nickit can use their lithe body and sharp claws to weasel out of unfavorable situations.

July 2025 Bulk Ask Responses
I do "Bulk Ask Responses" occassionally when I get an influx of asks, which definitely does apply here. That was my plan when I got back, but work was really busy and I didn't get the chance. Sorry for the wait!
I’ll just say this in general to the person who has been spamming me a lot recently: please stop sending me spam. You know what you're doing and it's not appreciated. The occasional spam I can ignore but when I’m getting it a lot, and when I tell someone is just trying to get me to respond/get a reaction out of me, I don’t enjoy that and don’t want to indulge that. It's demotivating and it makes me not want to spend my limited free time dealing with this stuff.
I try not block people so that I can answer your relevant questions that are mixed in with the spam, but if you continue, I will block you. It's just not worth the headache for me anymore. When you're blocked as an anon on Tumblr, you'll still be able to submit asks, but I won't receive them. This is your warning.
More responses under the break.
Also, a general reminder that if you don't wish to see my ask response posts, you can blacklist my ask tag “IPPasks” so they don't show up on your dash.
I am excited for some more news about Pokémon Z-A, so hopefully the Pokémon Presents shows something of substance. I am not expecting a Gen 10 tease until after Z-A is released, but I would love to be surprised there! (Possible Z-A Spoilers based on some supposed leaks from a while ago...) I'm okay with the 2/3 Johto starters, I think they could use some attention, but I really hope they get regional final stages instead of just Megas, like the leaks were saying, and then Megas for the Kalos starters would be nice.
Thank you! My vacation was really nice. It was with my partner's family and we had a great time in (and a loong drive getting to) Acadia, Maine. We enjoyed a lot of natural wonders and it was nice to disconnect for a bit and recharge!
Good question! In general, I don't think of IPP in terms of game-mechanics, but rather I look at them as if they were real creatures that were just maturing/going through different stages of life. So in this view, there would be a subtle shift of types changing or gaining a type. This doesn’t translate super well into the games, where I think a new mechanic would be needed to allow for some kind of “half types” where they have partial strengths and weaknesses of their in-coming types!
I find it hard to assign an IPP a typing if it's between types, but if half-types aren't allowed, I would say they don't fully gain their new typing until they've finishing evolving/growing into their proper stage. So for example with Charmander's Line, Charmodo would still just be Fire-type, while Charizard is Fire/Flying.
It might be nostalgia talking, but I prefer the sprite-based Pokémon games! I would love a new sprite-based game, though I don't expect TPC to go back to that look for the mainline games.
Croagunk. Chansey.
You can find the link to any Pokémon line I've done by going to my sprited Pokémon Index (desktop) or Pokémon Index Masterlist (mobile).
I have not, but I did a quick google search and saw they make fakémon. I didn't look through all their work, but what I saw looked pretty cool, although it was from 2012 so I'm not sure if they have more recent fakémon work. The artwork I looked at / theirDeviantArt is here.
They're mostly final, but I do have plans to update some of the starters 🫣 I'm planning on updating Dewott -> Samurott when I get to Hisuian Samurott, I've been thinking of updating Chimchar's line, and just recently decided Litten's line could use an update, as well. Oh, and I may update Cyndaquil -> Quilava too. Sorry!
I've updated my Instagram-style starter compilation (these) upon request, so I'll get those updated ones posted soon!
Baby Jolteon was commissioned! I had that noted in the tags, but I've added it back into the body of the post to clear up any confusion there. There aren't other baby Eeveelutions because only baby Jolteon was commissioned.
Solu (Absol pre-evo) was commissoned. I have no plans to make an in-progress form for Solu to Absol outside of another commission; sorry!
I have no redo plans for Scarridae at the moment, but I'll keep your redo 'request' for it in mind going forward. My "to-redo" list is here.

#439.5 - Mime Jr. are natural-born mimes, and use their mimicry to confuse their enemies - making a quick get away once the foe is baffled. Mime Jr. constantly study different people and Pokemon, working on mirroring their movements. This continual practice is key to Mime Jr.’s evolution, and those who are captured young must be properly taught the move Mimic, to encourage the exercise and stimulate evolution. As they age, Mime Jr.’s pantomime illusions become so skillful that if watchers believe something unseeable exists, it will come in being. They later become capable of creating a peculiar force field from their finger pads that hardens the air to create an actual wall.
Named: Mime Jr. - Mimer - Mr. Mime
#439.5G - All Mime Jr. who grow up in Galar are affected the energy of the region, and will evolve into the Ice/Psychic Galarian Mr. Mime. Though they excel at mimicry like their Sinnoh brethren, rather than miming, Mime Jr. in Galar have a passion and natural instinct for tap dancing. Mime Jr. tend to idolize Mr. Rime, and will seek out a Mr. Rime who is a good dancer to carefully copy their steps like an apprentice. Though they will mimic everyone they see, they put extra effort into copying the graceful dance steps of Mr. Rime as dancing practice. As they age, their feet begin to radiate a chilliness, with which they will learn to create a floor of ice.
#122.5G - Galarian Mr. Mime are talented tap dancers. By manipulating temperatures through the soles of their feet, they are able to create a floor of ice which they can kick up to use as a protective barrier. They’re known to spend whole days tap-dancing on this frozen floor, only stopping if they’ve been interrupted. Their dedicated attitude and stylish moves make them popular performers in Galar. As they reach full maturity and perfect their dancing style, Mr. Rime will often be sought out by Mime Jr., whom they will teach how to tap; developing a master-apprentice relationship.
Named: Mime Jr. - Galarian Mimer - Galarian Mr. Mime - Mr. Clime - Mr. Rime

#885.5 - Dreepy are reborn ghosts of a prehistoric species that once lived in ancient seas. They tend to wander the locations where they once lived after they are reborn. Dreepy take a long time to reach maturity, and are exceptionally weak in combat - so much that on their own, a mere child could defeat them; however, they have the potential to become much stronger and evolve if they have friends to help them train. Dreepy can often be seen fighting alongside their evolutionary relatives Drakloak and Dragapult. The latter even launches Dreepy at Mach speeds, which toughens the Dreepy up and helps them grow; also, it’s fun! As Dreepy age and near maturity, they will “adopt” a younger Dreepy, whom they care of and fight alongside with until the Dreepy nears its own maturity.
#886.5 - Drakloak are extremely aerodynamic, and are capable of flying at speeds greater than 120 mph. After years of being a weak Dreepy, Drakloak have developed a strong nurturing instinct towards weaker beings, and will take a Dreepy under their wing to raise and train. If they get separated from their Dreepy, or their Dreepy gets old enough to move out on their own, Drakloak will become uneasy and desperately try to find any Pokémon to serve as a substitute to take care of. As they age themselves, Drakloak develop shelter-like structures in their horns, which they use to both house and fire out more Dreepy. Dreepy will flock to these Drakloak, looking for battle experience and the thrill of being fired like supersonic missiles.
Named: Dreepy - Dreerie - Drakloak - Drakarrier - Dragapult

#133.57 - Eevee's unstable genetic makeup allows for this Pokemon to adapt to their environment by altering the composition of their body. If an Eevee lives in the frigid cold, it will adapt by gaining an acute control over its body heat - as well as a resistance to the freezing temperatures. These Eevee will grow a very fine layer of fur, which can be frozen into needle-like spikes and fired off at will. Fully evolved Glaceon are said to emanate such coldness that powdery snow will naturally form around them. However, Eevee are not often native to colder areas, and it is very rare to sight to see a Glaceon in the wild. Trainers can emulate this environment by exposing their Eevee to certain icy stones.
Names: Eevee - Frosteon - Glaceon

Naming time! The Paradox Pokémon are always a little weird to name, but thank you all for the suggestions. I'm going with Virizitron (Virizion + -tron/iron), suggested by @powpowhammer. Thanks!
#640.? - Considered the most intelligent member of the legendary Swords of Justice, Virizion protects other Pokémon from losing their homes due to human expansion by deftly wielding a powerful energy blade from its head. Theorized to represent an intermediary stage in Virizion’s potential transformation into the enigmatic Iron Leaves, this Pokémon continues the diligent work of its predecessor to protect Pokémon-kind. Some researchers propose that this mysterious Pokémon could have arisen in a future where Virizion adapted to coexist with advanced technology, while others believe it might be the result of deliberate experimentation. Its rumored ability to generate blade-like energy projections from both its head and neck further fuels speculation about its connection to Iron Leaves. However, without concrete evidence, the origins of this Pokémon remains a tantalizing mystery, leaving its place in Virizion’s potential evolution up for debate.

#667.5 - While they’re young, Litleo live in a pride where they watch and learn from other pride members. Once they reach a certain age, this hot-blooded Pokemon will set off on their own, where they are quick to pick fights in an effort to develop their hunting skills and firepower. As they age, Litleo will begin to display prominent sexual dimorphism, mainly through their mane styles. A male Pyroar with the largest mane will become the leader of his pride, though males are lazy by nature and it is usually female Pyroar who protect the young and hunt for food; however, if a strong foe challenges their pride, a male will protect its friends with no regard for its own safety.
