About Shanks, me too! Some people portray him being more serious, powerful, a little suspicious of strangers (specially if the reader is a new member of the crew), but I just can’t see him like that.

I think he’s super super chill, almost nothing pisses him off (at least nothing his friends or loved ones do), makes a lot of dad jokes, pretends to be a pervert (but is actually not), doesn’t mind if people underestimate him (but he’s SHARP, even when it seems he isn’t) and rarely shows how strong he is (ahem, I’m still not over episode 1112). He keeps an eye on someone until he’s sure they’re not going to be a problem, but not in a wary way, I think.

I also think he’s the kind of guy who would never lead you on, if he likes you, he’ll show you from the start (and show others too, hold your hand in public, tell everyone you’re his s/o, etc). If he doesn’t, he’ll let you down gently.

At least, those are the things I think about when I do my smaus
