And it only happened at night. You were about to fall asleep, when you felt the weight of the bed shift as she slid in beside you, her soft arms wrapping around you from behind. She smelt like lavender. Must��ve just took a shower. And you couldn’t help but smile and turn over to face her.

“Hey.” You say, and you can just sense her eyes on you. Even in the dark, you couldn’t help but fall in love.

“Hey.” She replies; and you laugh. She rolls her eyes, kissing your nose. “You should be sleeping.”

This was rare. But you didn’t want to point it out.It would only make her shut herself off from you and go back to being distant. You didn’t want that. You basked in the softer side of Olivia, pulling her closer and planting a kiss on her lips. You feel her smile against yours, and pull away.

“Can’t sleep now.” You say, and rest your forehead against hers. She was warm. And you felt her leg rest over yours. It was nice. Really nice. To love her and feel her love you back.

“I can fix that.” Olivia laughs.

SOLDIER

The second the clouds got dark you were already nervous. Jack caught onto your sudden change of emotion when he realized you were being extra quiet. You kept looking out the widow of his house, watching as the first thunder roared and you shivered. You hated thunderstorms. You were terrified of them.

And to make matters worse, lightning was striking. You yelped at the first streak of light cutting through the sky. You jerk away from the window. Only to face Jack, who is looking very sincere and concerned.

“Not a fan of storms?” He asks, and gives you a warm smile. A smile that eases the tension in your muscles immediately. You nod, and feel him wrap his arms around you. “It’ll be okay, Y/n. You’re safe inside.”

You felt safe just being in his arms. You smile softly, and he kisses the top of your head.

“Come on, I’m almost done with making lunch. Let’s go sit in the kitchen.”

REAPER

The storm woke you up in the middle of the night. The lightning was lighting up the room every few seconds. And it was starting to make your skin crawl with fear. You gasped each time, trying hard to force your eyes shut and go back to sleep.

It was almost working, until a lightning struck and the sound of the loud cracking thunder woke you right back up with a loud gasp and jerk. You sit up, heart pounding and you feel Gabriel next to you stir awake.

“Y/n? Are you okay?” He asks, sitting up and rubbing his eyes to focus his gaze onto you. You worry on your lip, you felt embarrassed to tell him why you woke up like this. And why you’re sitting there with trembling hands. Gabriel pulls you closer and you lay back down, gasping again when the lightning struck, a quick glow scattering through the room.

“Scared of the thunder?” He asks, and you couldn’t lie. You sigh, and nod.

“Yeah.” You reply, “I hate storms. I hate lightning.” You feel Gabriel hold you a little tighter. You felt a lot more safer with him close.

“C'mere.” He mumbles sleepily, and you feel soft lips pressed against your temple. You lay your head down on his chest. And focused more on Gabriel’s breathing, soothing you back to sleep.

HANZO The storm caused the power to go out.

You didn’t mean to scream, but the sound of lightning, then pure silence and darkness was terrifying.

You hear foot steps running into the room, Hanzo breathing heavily as he was just as terrified to see if anything was wrong with you.

“Are you okay?!” He asks, and you look around, your eyes stopping at the window being battered with raindrops.

“The power went out.” You say, and Hanzo let’s out a sigh. Relieved you were okay. He comes over and sits down next to you, eyes going towards the window as well.

“It’ll pass over quickly. Everything will be okay. Let’s light some candles. I’ll grab us some drinks.” He says, getting up and grabbing the candles to light them. You couldn’t help but find the dimmed glow of the room romantic, and it brought a warmth over you. Making you forget your fear.

Hanzo comes back with two cups of tea, handing you one and sitting back down.

“Let’s talk, to forget about the storm.”

“What do you think you’re doing?”

The sound of the voice made you jump. You inhale sharply, your hand instantly shutting the journal closed and you look up to see not only the subject of the art you are drawing, but your boss. Gabriel.

Your face turns beet red.

“Nothing.” You stammer out, but Gabriel meets your eyes. And you knew that he saw. You wanted to disappear. Melt into the cracks of the concrete floor of the Talon building.

“It’s not what you thin-”

“You’re drawing me naked?” He cuts you off, almost glaring now.

“Not naked.” You corrected him.

“So you admit you were drawing me then?”

You blush hard. And… he was smirking? You move to stand. “You win. Yes I was drawing you.” You admit, and God, why was your face still burning. You felt embarrassed. You look up to look at Gabriel. He didn’t look mad. He looked… smug. Almost flattered that you were even drawing him.

“Don’t you need a better view to draw me better?” He asks, and you knew exactly what he meant. Was he flirting?

“Here?!” You ask, and Gabriel rolls his eyes.

“No. Not here. At my place.”

You grabbed your things with nervous shaking hands. Who would say no?

Hana had been queued in the same lobby with you for awhile.

It was competitive. She knew people raged. Usually it wasn’t aimed at her and she ignored them or muted the chat but this time, she heard the nagging and toxic statements being thrown at her.

Hana huffs, turning on her mic.

“Stop whining and play the game.” She says. There was a pause, before she heard you spoke.

“Oh, so now you turn on your mic? Shut the fuck up. You haven’t done shit the whole game and-”

Hana had already tuned you out. She worries on her lip, getting more focused on the game. The enemy is reaching further on your side. And she hears you immediately blame her. You talk down on her skills, on her choice of position, and her voice. And the fact she’s a girl.

Hana was already stressed. She was hoping to rank high this season but with toxic players, it wasn’t going to happen.

“Okay.” She says, cutting you off. She knew she sounded sad. Which she hated. She rolls her eyes, muting her mic and setting down her headphones. She wanted to just turn off the game. This game was calming her stress levels down and neither was your attacks.

She mutes everyone. Focusing more on typing commands and playing the game. The game turns around. And you win the game with barely a landslide. Her ultimate landing a triple kill.

She turns on her mic, her skin hot with anger. She couldn’t even enjoy the win.

“How’s that for a girl? Dick head.” She turns off the mic, leaving the lobby after seeing she had the most kills and least deaths.

Hana goes to bed, waking up the next morning. Feeling more relaxed. She turns on her computer, after eating breakfast to start up a game. She notices a message, and clicks it, rolling her eyes when she sees the message was from you.

Her eyes scan the message, and realizes it’s an apology. For the sexist comments, for the anger. And that he truly was sorry and didn’t mean to upset her.

Part of Hana wanted to just block you after telling you to fuck off.

But she knew better. She typed back, and accepted the apology. “Be nicer. You’ll win more games that way :)”
