How do you feel abt Mizora Baldur's Gate 3 getting submissions, considering she very much fills the "sex pest" cathegory you explicitly didn't ask for? I wanted to give her the 3rd submission, but all the reasons she's terrible are pretty much linked to her treatment of Wyll, and while it's not as explicit as the worst examples of the annoying sidekick poll, the shoe still fits her.

The propaganda has been thorough enough that I am allowing it. The narrative/writers are picking sides, so it makes sense.

The thing that broke the camel's back last time was the sheer amount of (one word) propaganda that boiled down a character's insufferability to just one thing.

A huge number of submissions just said "Character X is a pedo/rapist/sexual harasser". I would have liked it more if there was more "Character X's actions are treated as funny haha humor, never called out or challenged and is in fact hyped up by the narrative".

The tournament had very intense people before, but we were continuously drifting in a more "Insufferable=worst person, so let's talk about sex crimes!" than a "Ugh, I hate this person, they are so annoying," direction, especially in Insufferable Comic Reliefs.

If submissions would boil down to "Villain A has done crime X" I would throw them out. In this instance, villains are supposed to do crimes. But it all depends on how the narrative treats them for it. Glorify, justify, excuse? All possible

So I am allowing it on this occasion because it was explained well and not focused on the crime

If a character is describe as an "anti-hero" can they still count? I ask bc someone else submitted The Punisher, I would personally consider him a villain bc of his actions but the creators intended for him to get a redemption/eventually become a "good guy" from the start (even though he's basically Rorschach from Watchmen but presented as sympathetic rather than a cautionary tale, which is why I find him insufferable no matter what the label is)

Anti-Hero can fit under specific circumstances for this tournament. If they count as a villain and have stories from the perspective of other characters with them as the antagonist, I'd consider it. If they are only the protagonist, I wouldn't count it

If the story/writers additionally glorify the character's actions or always pull the "they were right, actually" card, I don't see why it shouldn't count.

Is it possible to submit a (fictional) place that is basically a villain in its media? Not a character BUT its laws and people make it a villainous place, and the people living in it are all super hypocritical which is why I hate it

There are images of it so that shouldn't be a problem

I wouldn't really count a place as a villain. If an entirety of something is submitted, it gets pretty muddy because you are submitting at least a couple dozen people. So you will apply the traits of one person to all the others, so it will be very generalized and faceless

Let's say we use Rapture from Bioshock as an example. If we apply all the crimes onto the city, that is very unsatisfying. It is not a villain, it is a place where some very evil people live. Andrew Ryan could serve as a representative for everything, but Rapture in itself isn't the villain. It is a place made up of its people

Insufferable Villains Poll

Submit here for villains that are just absolutely insufferable to you.

Every time they open their mouth you roll your eyes.

Maybe they are a complete edgelord and the fandom makes their insufferability harder to bare.

Or the writers tried way too hard to make the villain's philosophy to the point they come of as preachy.

Maybe they have an insanely stupid motive their media treats as justified. Or they are a hypocrite the story ignores

They could be a good character ruined by a redemption or twist villain reveal and now you find every second you see them because the wasted potential annoys you to no end

And other reasons they might be insufferable

What I am not asking for:

villains who you hate because they have done terrible crimes (of a sexual nature). We're looking for insufferability, not who has the worst sex crimes

After so many polls and tournaments looking for the best: the best music, the best bestie, the best fairy... we want to take a turn at the opposite side of the spectrum. Who are the Worst characters in the Disney portfolio?

Think about the characters who are needlessly annoying--one second on screen and your eyes are rolling. The protags who fall flat. Villains you just didn't buy. The arc you feel had more potential and under delivered. Who is universally disliked?

When it comes to the villains, think a bit about why this character is the worst. This isn't for the proper hate, don't submit them just because they were a villain and you didn't like their actions. For instance, Prince Hans, we think he's the worst because the storytelling was effective and his arc was well executed, the betrayal was Real. We aren't going (primarily) for moral judgement here. However if you hate his sideburns with a burning passion and cringed at the robot dancing in Love is An Open Door, then yeah, submit him.

As is the norm, any character under the Disney creative umbrella is allowed. When it comes to acquired/partnered properties, we ask that the character has been developed/created since accusation/partnership. Ideally we want major characters to compete for the title but if there is a more minor or background character you feel strongly about please submit them.

We would need an absolute minimum of 32 unique characters, we would love a bracket more like 64 though. As this is a regular tournament, the rounds will a week long. There is not yet an end date for submissions, it will depend on intake. We will announce timeline updates as we decide them, you will have warning before the form closes.

If we have to draw a line in submissions, deciding factors include (but are not limited to): total submissions over all, number of submissions for each individual, how strong of a role do they play in the story, the submitted propaganda/picture, how closely tied to "Disney" are they. And of course how many unique submissions there are to work with.

No character is guaranteed as spot. And just because a character is on the banner does not mean we think they are terrible.

Insufferable Comic Relief Finals

Propaganda why Glenn Quagmire is an insufferable Comic Relief:

"Literally a sex offender. The joke is he’s horny all the time. Has literally suggested he’d sleep with his best friend’s wife, or his own daughter. The best thing he ever did was point out how another character sucked, and that included pointing out how depraved he was."

Propaganda why Mineta Minoru is an insufferable Comic Relief:

"Literally wants to be a hero to touch women. During dorm tours, he goes over to female students dorms and smells their underwear. Told a little girl he’s excited to see her in a few years. Never has a serious fight in the entire series. Closest we get is a test where he’s pissed that his classmate was caught by their teacher because he gets to sleep on her lap."

And wgat even is that COSTUME?! Those PROPORSIONS?! He looks like if you took a human adult and shrunk it down to the size of a toddler rat and dressed him up in jam and earwax.

His voice is so nails on a chalkboard/fork against a plate to listen to. Like the spirit of a cursed baby hawk without a voice box and only vocal cord was suddently tasked to sing an opera by itself. Its horrible.

The funniest thing about him is that no one even likes him canonically. Like you get your comic relief that's an outcast sometimes, but its insane. The girls hate him. The guys too sometimes. He tried to sacrifice himself and no one cared.
