Matrioshka Brain/Dyson Cube
A super complex megastructure that inhabits an artificial intelligence powered by the solar system's star. The whole purpose of the megastructure is to be a commander of the solar system, taking work load out of the AI that made it.

Krasnikov Tube. The reason why it's long is because I imagine it working like a railgun of sorts, where the longer the tube, the further the space distortion goes and hence further distances and theoretically faster time travel, however, that is me taking something from one thing and applying it to another, so it may not actually work like that.

I haven't given this as much detail as I feel it should have, but it's good enough to illustrate. This is a planet that has been terraformed by a Worldhouse Roof megastructure.

Cisterian Numbers are very interesting, I’ve learnt about them from my friend who’s been researching them to create his own language. I think it might be important to flesh out the culture of an advanced species.

Second Planet(more like megastructure but eh, it's closer to a normal planet)
I'm not exactly the proudest with this one, as it lacks the level of detail that I usually put into planets, but to put simply, it is meant to be a megastructure that's home to a completely underwater species, with the core being a reactor that gives the species an energy source for their technology.

The first planet I made
What I was thinking of for this planet was the idea of hostile wildlife, so the inhabitants prefer to be on the tip of the trees because it is practically uninhabitable with just how dangerous the fauna is. They reproduce and perish in the quadruple digits per hour, which is multiplied by the weather conditions, like acid rain. It is practically living hell, and would be impossible for intelligent life to flourish, but the planet is rich with resources, specifically food, because the habitants on the planet taste absolutely amazing.

Hoop Sea
Another world which is solely aquatic, the inhabitants of this world live in undersea habitats that circle all around the hoop, from the inside to the outside to the top to the bottom. The sole purpose of this base is to remain anonymous, a secret base of operation that no body would suspect of being anything more than a decoration, or a artistic piece demonstrating technological advancement.

Railgun Megastructure
Here's the finalised version of the Megastructure I made with the Railgun. I rendered it so that the city in the back looks alive as well as the hologram in front of the railgun. I don't really know how feasible this design would be, but it was something I sort of thought about as I was making the railgun and so just rolled with it.

Can Megastructures have an Era Style
Megastructures seem like they have a solidified visual aesthetic, but just like a lot of different contraptions, technology and structures, they are defined purely by what the era in question believes is futuristic. Right now a lot of the megastructure concepts have grey blocky and intensely detailed look that replicates our modern technology, but we're talking about something far into the future, and as we grow and develop our technology, and breakthroughs in science occur, our view of the future changes dramatically. One thing I was thinking of is the possibility of a fully bio-mechanical megastructure, sustained and kept alive the same way we keep ourselves fit and well, maybe not 1-1, but has the ability to sustain itself, maybe through drones and stuff of the sorts. AI and digital consciousness is probably gonna be our future, ridding ourselves of organic limitations whilst having admiration of nature and creating organic life, this concept starts to make me think about myself, was my entire planet and civilization formed from the actions of a god-like machine, how much do we really know of our universe. The only way we can tell is to explore and experiment with our understanding of science to continuously evolve it.

Minecraft - simplistic for complexity
Minecraft, being one of the most popular video games of all time, has aesthetically one of the simplest art styles and geometry that a game could have in a 3D space, but this simplicity allows for the game to have a lot going on gameplay wise. due to the consistency of everything in this game being a block on a grid, this allows the entire world to not only be procedurally generated, but also fully interactable, and that plays a key part in Minecraft's gameplay loop, mine blocks to craft tools, it's literally called "Minecraft" for that specific reason.
There is barely any if any curvature , everything has a sharp edge to it to really sell the blocky aesthetic, its art-style is really charming and doesn't come of as uncanny, which I feel a lot of Voxel art looks like to be, that unusual feeling of something that's supposed to be realistic, but ends up looking incomplete.

Megastructure Process
For starters, we begin with the humble cube, a beautiful sight to behold, this is what you see when you boot up MagicaVoxel, now in the Edit menu, we open up the Shape menu and then select Perlin, don't pick Fractal because it reshapes it and creates a far more complicated design that won't work well for later, it ashould look like this:
Next on the same menu, we open up the mirror menu, and what I like to do is select X, Y and Z in that exact order, what you'd get is something like this:
Already looks cool, but you can mess with the Loop tool on the same menu, which can move the structure and create an original shape, this is what I made out of that:
This is good, but I'll make some adjustments, first, I'm gonna slice this in half, to do that, I select the Marquee Select tool on the Brush menu, then select the box select on the Marquee menu. Finally, I select the half of the structure with the tool and then backspace to delete it, you might have to use this tool to make sure that the half is fully deleted, but eventually you'd get something like this:
Use the loop tool again, and keep going with it until you get the satisfying result, here's what it looks like now:
Satisfied but not contempt, I chop off some bits with the same box select tool I mentioned earlier, as well as the erase tool in the same menu to chop off any bits I don't like:
Much better. The same seems complete, now it's a matter of colour and render, the paint tool just underneath the erase tool will help you colour it the way you want it. I also added the railgun I made before this and moved it to where I wanted it:
And I believe that that's one part complete, I'll be making the planet this sits on later.

Arrival - Concept Aliens
Early designs of the aliens are IMO far better than the ones that made it in the final cut. The new ones look like they were meant to be a human descendant or ancestor of sorts, this is meant to be something beyond our understanding, something that is beyond words, Lovecraft in almost every single way, an unidentifiable blob of incomprehensibility that defies any sort of description.

Arrival - Spaceship Concept art
I LOVE this design of the spaceship that was planned for the movie Arrival. Not only is Arrival one of my favourite Sci-Fi movies of all time that got me thinking of the perspective of time in alien organisms(and Machines too technically), but also has some incredible art direction, even in its early stages. I love this design because of how simple it is, I could literally describe it as as a sphere with thick thighs and a glowing cyan circle for it's privates...I hate how accurate that is. It "shines"(ba-dum-tssh) in it's textures, focusing on a nice slick surface that creates depth through the lighting.
