Project Description

The main aim of our project is to transform the look of Aleja Róż. This street has characteristic symmetrical arrangement. To change the perception of space, we decided to place 5 cubes covered with a mirror. Each one has different dimensions. Cubes are arranged with each other at different angles. The mirrors will reflect the buildings surrounding the street. This solution will allow the reflections to multiply infinitely (inspiration: 'Infiniti Mirror Room, Fireflies on the water' by Yayoi Kusama, Musee des Beaux-Arts de Nancy). Inner walls of the cubes will be covered with acoustic material so that you can cut off from the hustle and bustle of the city. Thanks to the organic shape of the interior and soft seat with cozy materials, it will be nice to relax inside the installation. On the ceiling there will be a translucent glass that will illuminate the room with natural light. The entrance is a wall shifted in such a way that feels like it's made of material. It is worth noting that not all cubes will be open. Those that are too small to enter will be closed.

Visualisation

We wanted to show by visualisation the inside and outside of the cube. We decided to put 5 boxes on the Aleja Róż. The dimensions of our cubes are: 3,5x3,5 meters, 3x3 meters ,2,5 x 2,5 , 2x2 meters. Not all cubes will be open. Those that are too small to enter will be closed.

The idea of inside was to create organic form which makes this place quiet ,so you can relax and rest . We created contrast between inside and outside which is geometric. We woukd like to cover our cubes by mirror,so mirror can reflect the buildings  surrounding the street. Inside the box we want  to put soft materials which also should be acoustic. We are also thinking about lightning. We want to put double glass on the ceiling which illuminate the room with natural light. At night time there will be LED light, so you can go there even at night. The entrance is a wall shifted in such a way that feels like it’s made of material.

Brainstorm/Sketches

This is our first sketches. We are trying to work at form of our installation.We began thinking about cube form. We wondered how people would interract with this cube.

This is the place where we are going to make our installation. We choose Aleja Róż,where was the statisue of Lenin .It shows the symetry and mirror effect. This effect makes a viewer feel like stuck between the buildings.
