would you be interested in doing a book club? kind of a raffle where I send out assignments (a book to read per month-- for example... book with first name in title, a green book, a classic that was recently reprinted, etc etc etc. or maybe every month there's a theme. book with specific color on the cover, book with an animal in the title, a book based off a myth etc etc... I was thinking we could do a lil collection, maybe $2 dollars and then we can pick a winner at the end of the year ( i'd put all names in the'spin the wheel' app and roll it on live so there's no funny business ) and they can pick a book to be bought and sent to them?? if anything draws over, it get's donated to an Animal shelter! everyone wanting to be in has to be over 18 or have parent's/guardian's permission to participate- bc you will have to give out your address so I can send you the book!
let me know if you'd be interested <3

Hot Take but like. P.oughkeepsie Tapes had so much potential & just. Ended up being so ingenuine & corny.
It's not god-awful but every time I watch it the less genuine it feels. Hammy at the best of times.

“and we and the century became pubescent and scratched out our names with fingernails until our features smeared blank and indiscernible. we printed our dicks out in plastic and chased women from their cities and homes. When our eyes peered their mouths we could process neither tooth nor tongue. only negative space. a black hole. when we leered at their skin it was flesh of balloon.”

Mellick had a lot of the same issues in Cannibals of Candyland.
I don't know why contemporary genres have such issues with this shit, but I'm becoming increasingly staunch in my belief that men need to take a break from writing & just Not Do That.
I'm about 4/5ths of the way thru Beauregard's Playground.
I enjoy splatterpunk as the next weirdo, but his metaphors & hyperbole are awful. I've had to put this book down several times because it's completely taken me out of the moment.

I'm in the middle of watching The Sadness & I think this is the only time I've had to stop eating something while watching a horror movie.
