What is Into The Game?

In the ITG universe the majority of the population consists of humans, being held in a world resembling our own but with significant differences in genetics and social constructs. This world is also based off of the gacha/lunime franchise, subtly mocking it for how ridiculous it can be. The society of ITG is separated into 3 primary groups: Protagonist, Antagonist and Side Character. Although quite rare, individuals may possess alternative titles, typically formed from genetic anomalies similar to those who are intersex. These titles can range from "Antihero" to "Deuteragonist" reflecting apon the personal comfort and identity of the person. Additionally, a small minority of the population consists of hybrids-- humans fused with animals such as Wolves, Dogs, Cats, Dragons and Rabbits. While often associated with the Protagonist label, not all hybrids tend to be Protagonists despite the large amount who are. The roles of Protagonists, Side Characters, and Antagonists are not actually narrative constructs but assigned to the person bodily, much like gender. Individuals are born into these roles and are expected to perform to certain standards without even realizing. Protagonists are said to embody traits of loyalty, courage, and leadership, while Side Characters are pushed to supporting roles, often overlooked and put to the sidelines. Not all individuals fit into the stereotypes associated with their assigned roles. Some Protagonists may struggle to be seen as heroic, acting rather unethical at times. Whereas some of those who identity as a Side Character may be yearning for some of the spotlight and stand completely out of line from what is expected of them. The original concept of this universe was to be made into a sort of youtube series. The general idea was that the series would continue as long as the protagonists went along with the general narrative. The protagonists presence is crucial as they provide the main focus of the series and without then there would be little to no views/interaction. Protagonists have quite a high status, widely regarded as irreplaceable figures in their community. They are well known for their originality and being biologically stronger.
