The unspoken rule for British actors is that you need a photoshoot in a bathtub.

There's something about scrolling through your own blog like ah yes, I remember when I reblogged nothing but This One Hyperfixation (typically some pathetic looking or deeply misunderstood character or a musician I relate too hard to or some movie I watched during my Formative Years)

I love tumblr. I finally remembered the name of a movie I remembered so little of that I thought it was a dream, watched it, immediately searched tumblr, and people are still posting about it. I love it here, The Secret of Moonacre was wonderful

i just rewatched the secret of moonacre and i am of the opinion that it wasnt maria who broke the curse.
my reason happens to be from the final scene in the movie.
so maria has the pearls and attempts to break the curse by throwing them in the water, returning them to nature and at first it doesnt work.
they return to her hands and she breaks the strand holding them and throws them again, but again they return to her this time sticking to her dress.
so then she jumps. and we can see in that moment everyone is shocked. bc it wasnt maria jumping that broke the curse. it was the two families witnessing her jump.
it was them all rushing to the edge of the cliff after she jumps. it was the uniting of the two families in fear that broke the curse.
and it isnt until after that, that maria is reunited with everyone.

THE SECRET OF MOONACRE: THE LOVE WALTZ
Woven together these noises were the notes of a line of music that moved her strangely, as though her heart itself were the keyboard over which the music stirred.

okay. what i鈥檓 about to say might be controversial.
i adore vanessa kirby.
can鈥檛 wait to see ebon moss-bachrach as the thing.
as far as pedro pascal and joseph quinn go, i can鈥檛 say i鈥檓 off my rocker, but they鈥檙e fine.
Tumblr media
鈥ut they could NEVER.
like ioan and chris were ICONIC AS SHIT. jessica alba? sassy fucking queen. and michael chiklis? still tugging on my heart strings.
let alone this movie was FUCKING ICONIC for the time. 2005 guys. 2005. before rdj got ever cast as iron man. before marvel banked on him as rhe last hope.
i know F4 was made by fox. but it鈥檚 ICONIC. iunno how comic-accurate the movie and characters are, but for the time? fuck me its good and still holds up.
