Logitech G920 Racing Wheel: Review
Tumblr media
Price: $200-$250 (Amazon)
Most people who play racing games play casually, and are just looking for a fun time. But if you’re a part of the minority who play for the most realistic experience possible, you may want a simulator. Here’s a quick overview.
What’s in the box:
The box contains bare minimum: The wheel, and the pedals. You can order the Driving Force Shifter separately, but that’ll set you back by around $50. (Retail)
Features:
Wheel:
This wheel features 900 degrees of rotation and dual motor force feedback. It features a metal Flappy Paddle Shifter, and the steering wheel itself is made with an all leather and metal construction, while the center cap itself is plastic. It features secure clamps, and won’t fall off during use. It also features all buttons found on an Xbox controller.
Pedals:
The pedals themselves are metal, while all other parts are composites. The brake pedal has been stiffened to feel more realistic. People have said it has been overly stiffened, but the model we received had no such problem. The gas and clutch have a good feel as well.
Pros:
Strong Force feedback
Good rotation (900 degrees)
Very durable, good quality.
Not as much noise as previous model
Compatible with both PC and Xbox. (Playstation and PC with the G29)
As of now, the value is very good. (May appreciate or depreciate in the future)
Cons:
Shifter isn't a free addition
Gears make a reoccurring high pitched noise within the first 15 minutes of use, but goes away after.
Conclusion:
For the money, this is a very high quality wheel. The materials used are durable, and the features rival those of an expensive simulator. If you are looking for a wheel with great value and many features, this should be your first choice.
Rating: 9/10
