so embarrassing to get obsessed with your own oc but it doesn't fuel you creatively or motivate you at all you just sort of sit there. like yeah I've been thinking a lot about blorbo from my mind. no images of them exist in the world and they have maybe 3 personality traits so far. I would rather die than attempt to write about them. I've spent the last 48 hours rotating them in my brain though

THE TITANS,
also known as The Giants, The Corpse Kings, or Dead Tillers.
Vast dead bodies- each county is centred around one. They have domains- they are titans of certain things, but outside of how that effects the general nature of the county and the rituals used to caretake them, that’s not as important anymore as you’d expect. The only other use is in the practice of Titan Symbology- a form of divination based on the Titan’s historical associations and symbolism.
Dithipeytd (Dith County)
A Titan of flowers, poisons, toxins, associated with bats.
Symbolically, it’s a Titan of neglect and ignorance- representing a lack of knowledge where it should be: either knowledge of where to go, where they are, or where they’re from. A Titan of harm brought upon someone, at least in part, from their own poor judgements.
Charyfon (Char County)
A Titan of smoke, ash, fire, associated with horse-flies.
Symbolically, it’s a Titan of destruction and no return- representing the loss of a bond, a place (in life or physical), a purpose; and in all these cases, never being able to get it back. A Titan of harm, from which there is no absolute recovery
Llystelck (Llys County)
A Titan of floods, rain, moors, associated with thrushes.
Symbolically, it’s a Titan of depression and wallowing- representing an acceptance of ills, taken all the way to the extreme of embracing them. A Titan of harm that is simply accepted as a fact of life and deemed unavoidable far in advance.
Notably, there is not as much difference between Llys and Dith as Ivy likes to think.

a low effort shitpost i made with my own ocs.
there are four of them, they're monochrome... it just felt right
#ALDW2PYH#low effort since the portraits already exist#with how bad i am at art and how long they took. this would not count as low effort if made from scratch

people might think creating OC lore involves a lot of thinking & planning, but in my personal experience, OC development is more like a divine vision from a god slamming you over the head with a mallet while ur doing the fuckin dishes or folding laundry

You could reach out and touch them.
With hands. (No, they’re too far away.) With acts (No, what could you offer.) With words. (Yes.
But what would you say?)
Maybe they’re a rose. Beautiful, but best not to handle too often, best to handle with care lest the thorns dig in, prick or tear. (Think how bad it could be to do wrong. So wrong.)
Maybe they’re a nettle. Still beautiful, (Damn others who would say otherwise, damn them twice if they won’t do it themselves.) but best not to handle without precaution, best to treat slowly lest the needles leave their sting, burn and itch. (Think how long that pain could last for. Stick with you.)
Maybe they’re not a flower. A person. Something that may not even mind the contact, that could even welcome the touch themselves. Something that may even want to read your words, hear your voice, praise your acts, accept your reciprocation, see your eyes, hold your hands, be there.
They could reach out and touch you.
Too busy. (Unlike you.) Too many friends. (Unlike you.) Too scared (Like you.
But that’s an impasse.)
Then again, what kind of flower are you to them? What flower lacks in beauty and purpose and does little but wilt?
Then again, would something as great as them disparage you so? Isn’t it a whole new cruelty to assume such a thing of them?
Then again. Maybe not a flower. A person. Just one that still struggles to face the sun, struggles to bloom, struggles to reach out. (Yes,
But what does knowing help?)

I can do 3 & 4 on here!
Kill Caesar to start… because in the case of almost any character of mine dying, practically no-one would notice, and only a few more than that would care, though only a little. Let’s not read into that.
All my Lancer OCs are fairly disposable in the eyes of their employer and co-workers, and lack other meaningful relationships. My CAIN OCs are destined for an ignoble death, and while I haven’t transcribed anything about him here yet, my AGON OC is already considered dead by most who know him, and those people prefer it that way. The character I’ll focus on in the next bit, Hemlock, would get a half-arsed funeral by their parents and Ivy would feel bad for a few days about not knowing them well enough to attend. Then everyone would shrug and move on.
Become a dictator: I’m going to be focusing on something you may see a LOT of here in time, that being ALDW4PYH. I won’t reveal the acronym’s meaning right now, it’s not necessary, but as for what the world would look like with Hemlock in charge:
Honestly? Better. But not as much better as they think they would make it.
Hemlock has enough knowledge of social problems (and definitely enough animosity towards their current society) that he’d want a total cultural and political overhaul: without really knowing what it should look like, or thinking to ask the people who do, stuck in her own head as they are. Overall, a kinder but unwittingly far more individualistic (to its detriment) world, especially for the young and queer and disenfranchised (i.e, Hemlock itself).
Also? The plot would not happen with any stakes. Hemlock does know enough about the Titans to understand what it means to fuck up taking care of their effects. So the story would just end up being perfectly chill, with no more stakes than a normal day.
Which would be nice for everyone involved, really.
Ides of March Writing Challenges:
🗡️ Stab it: Write 23 words (or 23 sentences if you're playing on hard)
🗡️Settle a debt: Finish an old unfinished work
🗡️Become a dictator: Outline a version of your narrative world where your protagonist has complete control. What would they want the world to look like?
🗡️Kill Caesar: Outline a version of your story where the main character dies. What would all the supporting characters do?

Peri.
CASE FILE: PERILOUS “PERI” SCAE-CYRUS
(“Why? Because I was meant to, because I thought I had to. Why… what kind of a question is that? Have you ever met soldiers before? When we ask ‘why’, we get demoted, and I liked my pay in my fucking pocket with a loosened leash around my neck. On the subject of which, you cu-.”)
RISK LEVEL: High
DIAGNOSIS: Antisocial personality disorder, post traumatic stress disorder. Patient refuses to engage with psychiatric classification.
SUBJECTS OF RISK: Self, Others, Property.
CONFINEMENT PROCEDURES: Solitary cell. Full surveillance. Amenities kept to a minimum. No sharp objects. Any meeting with others requires the presence of at least one officer.
(“Me? A threat to others? Oh, whatever would make you think that? No, clearly I couldn’t hurt a fly, unless scores of dead soldiers and civilians count for shit. Which one are you writing? You have choices, don’t you. I mean how you can say ‘capable of violence’, which is most people. Or ‘violent tendencies’, ‘belligerent’, ‘physically confrontational’. Those all tick the same fucking box.”)
AUTHORISED ITEMS:
[updated following incident PERILOUS-07]
Bandages to be supplied regularly regardless of cooperation, else patient cooperation seriously deteriorates. Requests for candles can be authorised as reward for good behaviour. Usage must be fully monitored.
PATIENT HISTORY: Found, heavily and freshly bandaged, in an unauthorised hangar raided after an anonymous tip. Possible suicide attempt, which subject denies.Records designate them as a member of a partially unidentified military group, responsible for the massacre of Fesyne.
Subject testimony is unreliable.
(“My history? About as rote as a black ops soldier gets. Don’t give me shit like i’m the first traumatised sod from that background to show up here. Fine. Born, then something, trained to kill, then did. Made into a demon, acted like it, went too far and after that a few failed attempts at doing something good lead to this. No, I won’t say. The only thing i’ll tell you is who I killed the most for, but if I do you won’t write it down.”)
NOTES FROM PRIMARY THERAPIST: Peri is inherently untrusting of our institution, and while he exhibits signs of genuine remorse and has expressed past desires to make amends, she refuses to cooperate with our methods in any way.
My main concern is her isolation. She is kept in solitary confinement, given her prior history and numerous altercations with other prisoners. However, looking through the incident reports, he has never dealt any more than superficial injuries, if any, in these cases. Worryingly, it would seem that he wants to be fought and lose, for what reason I cannot discern.
It is my opinion that a spectrum of medications could resolve this. However, getting her to ingest them, or accept injections, is an issue. I recommend alternate methods of administering them to him.
(“Don’t try that shit again. I choose what goes in my body. It’s mine now, you hear me? Yeah, I know the concept of medicine. I just don’t trust your shit. Look, I know a lot more chemistry than you think I do. And you’ll always underestimate me on that, just because I had to pick warfare over some noble’s college.”)
NOTES FROM PATIENT
[patient refused to submit notes except in hand writing. Two days on from this, against the patient’s wishes, patient’s old bandages were taken. They had writing on them, which has been transcribed further below.]
I’m not taking any drugs I can’t identify, I’m never cooperating with your therapists, I don’t want a single fucking thing to do with the corps that fund you. Oh, and if you make it worth my while, say, by holding things back from me- I will be a problem.
…
I did not expect it to be so absent of fire.
A billowing black cloud, spread by wind down what would be called a battlefield. Genetrace gas. Can’t be made in large quantities. Not yet, I hope. Tiny machines, two ifs and an else.
If biological, isolate the nucleus then autosomes. If approved, end program. Else: burn through.
Like fire, more like acid.
They don’t look like people after. Too much of the shape is gone, doused in the blood it ignores, as if only to remind you this thing was once alive. Most everything else is untouched, but you can’t see it. You can’t see anything else.
Just a stream of blood and ash.
Let me light another candle.
In theory, I could not die there. In theory, I had been granted a pass. Even now, they don’t know if I still have it.
Them not knowing what is still in my flesh and what I have pulled out screaming (it or me), is a satisfaction. They don’t get to choose who I kill anymore.
Though, do I, really?
The processes lined me with circuits, lessons, DNA, conditioning. Cut out, extracted, relearned what I could. But I’m the shadow of those not-corpses, now. I look like people. But where they would have a soul, I don’t.
Just ash and blood, in its shape.
Let me light another candle.
When a body is ill, it heats up. Tries to burn away the pathogen. It’s destructive, but not just a lesser, it’s scarcely an evil.
The diaspora is a map of pyres: of heat caused by or boiling out the evils that infect it. When I fire, each trigger pull, the only memory still in my muscles: it used to be for the greater evil.
Now; the scarce one.
I had assumed fire was death, here. But no. Fire is life. Fire proves that the fight is still going on, that there’s still light on cruelty.
Fire is the hatred of death. They’re bedfellows, not synonyms.
I’m out of blood, I’m fucking done with ash.
All I have left is fire.
Let me light another candle.
…
(“Let me free to fix things, or leave me here to rot. Your choice, not mine.”)

Morgana Barrat.
-—%##%—-
RECORD OF BODILY MODIFICATIONS: MORGANA B.
RANK: LEGATE
CLASSIFICATION LEVEL: JUPITER
BIONIC | REPLACEMENT
Right foot-ankle-lower shin
Installed by HA medicus legionis Brimesent
Field triage IV, Border planet Samos, 4900u
Patient’s notes: Takes time to adjust to. Improves kicks and fine pedal control. Overall, a worthy replacement. I will be able to carry on fulfilling my role at the same level of ability.
BIONIC | REPLACEMENT
Right shoulder
[Lower, organic segment reattached]
Installed by HA medicus legionis Brimesent
Field triage XII, Border planet Samos, 4903u
Patient’s notes: The work of Brimesent is efficient and effective. Total removal of the shoulder has allowed for a replacement that has better range of motion, less fatigue, and the certainty in performance that cybernetics provides. It is not a shame to have lost the biological original.
GENETIC | SUPPLEMENT
Blood cell production booster
Installed by HA medicus cohortis Elaine
Lugdunum forward station, 4929u
Patient’s notes: Should not be marked as a supplement. This is a weakness in my body I have had for a long time and only just been able to expunge. My efficacy and efficiency in all matters will be far improved now I am rid of this.
GENETIC | SUPPLEMENT
Bone strengthening
Installed by HA medicus cohortis Elaine
Lugdunum forward station, 4930u
Patient’s notes: Took too long to access. Where I had to fear injury, I now possess greater strength than most. The ability with which I can now carry out my work is far superior to before- my weak body is now closer to what it should be.
BIONIC | REPLACEMENT
Eyes
Installed by HA medicus cohortis Brimesent
Command centre triage, Border planet Thule, 4932u
Patient’s notes: Medical stay extended far beyond what was necessary, psychiatric treatment an insult: these new eyes are a gift. Like my prior therapies, this has made me a better solider with less flaws. I am not as weak as I was- I do not need to spend weeks dwelling on identity.
GENETIC | TREATMENT
Bionic rejection suppressant
Installed by HA medicus legionis Albagia
Field triage XVI, Border planet Thule, 4932u
Patient’s notes: Emergency treatment. It was necessary, as my body struggled against the prior improvements applied to it. This serum puts those insufferable pains and points of sickness to rest. The parts of my body I was born with are merely trying to spite me now. Luddite limbs.
BIONIC | REPLACEMENT
Left abdomen-kidney. Pancreas. Part intestine
Installed by HA medicus cohortis Blasine
Field Triage II, Border planet Chryse, 4938u
Patient’s notes: This was major repair work. It goes to show how little my weaker body can withstand. The steel resisted the shrapnel that tore through flesh. Having new steel, to patch it up, to truly resist the next- it is progress.
GENETIC | TREATMENT
Antibody production booster
Installed by HA medicus legionis Albagia
Field Triage III, Border planet Chryse, 4938u
Patient’s notes: All the ways in which my feeble born body lacked, and lagged behind the default, are dealt with. The parts that are still vulnerable are now at least able to resist infection.
BIONIC | SUPPLEMENT
Left foot-ankle-shin
Installed by HA medicus cohortis Brimesent
Miletus forward station, 4943u
Patient’s notes: A vast improvement to my balance- having both feet be made of steel means there is no longer a weaker one between the two. The Armoury resisted permitting this. My surely increased efficacy in the field will display its necessity.
BIONIC | SUPPLEMENT
Left arm exoskeleton
Installed by HA medicus cohortis Brimesent
Miletus forward station, 4944u
Patient’s notes: Not a full replacement. Such an operation could not be sanctioned and allusions to severing my own arm were taken as jokes. The higher ranks will see the light in time. For now, these enhancements to my arm will suffice.
GENETIC | SUPPLEMENT
Blood cell production booster
Installed by medicus Orcades
Shakdvipa forward station, 4961u
Patient’s notes: The last treatment of this nature should have been enough, but the soft parts of me have objected to the mere passage of time and undone the work. It’s shameful, and with my will, not something that I will need to seek again.
BIONIC | SUPPLEMENT
Spinal exoskeleton
Installed by medicus Brimesent
Patient’s notes: Improves reaction speed, improves armouring, is seen as threatening. If more of my fellow legates understood the strength they were unwilling to accept, the Armoury would not have to fear defeat again.
GENETIC | SUPPLEMENT
Sub-dermal metallisation
Installed by medicus Orcades and medicus Brimesent
Patient notes: Finally, even those parts of me that cannot be replaced with their betters can be strengthened, can withstand violence. I am approaching my full potential as a weapon. Killing me is harder than ever. Let me see how many unimproved cowards can even approach me now.
