One can book the test 24 hours in advance, and to sit in the test the only acceptable proof of ID is Passport.
It is 3 hours of the test, which consists of 4 modules starting with PTE Speaking, PTE Writing followed by PTE Reading and lastly PTE Listening. There are 20 tasks which are divided among these four modules. 5 are in speaking, 2 are in writing, 5 are in reading and 8 tasks in listening respectively. There are 10 minutes of optional break after reading.
