Kodi IPTV — How to Watch IPTV on Kodi (Best of 2025)
What is IPTV?
Is Watching IPTV on Kodi iptv Legal?
What Devices Support Kodi IPTV?
How Do I Set Up IPTV on Kodi?
What Is an M3U Playlist?
Where Can I Get an M3U Playlist?
What Are the Best Addons for Kodi IPTV?
Can I Use IPTV Without a Cable Subscription?
How Do I Search for Specific Channels on Kodi IPTV? INTRODUCTION In this guide, I’ll walk you through how to watch IPTV on Kodi and everything you need to know to get started. We’ll cover what IPTV is, how it works, and its legal status. These steps work on all Kodi-supported devices, including FireStick, FireStick 4K, FireStick 4K Max, NVIDIA SHIELD, Windows, Mac, and Android.
Television has come a long way since its invention in 1927. Over the years, physical advancements have led to sleek, ultra-thin 8K TVs, while digital innovations have made online streaming services more popular than ever. Among these digital trends is IPTV, a modern way to stream live TV over the internet.
This guide will introduce you to IPTV and walk you through two methods to access IPTV services on your Kodi application.
What is IPTV? IPTV stands for Internet Protocol Television. Unlike traditional TV services, which rely on cable lines or satellite dishes, IPTV delivers digital television via your internet connection.
This modern approach offers significant advantages over traditional methods:
No cables or satellite boxes: You only need an internet connection and a compatible device. Ease of use: Simply enter a URL or open an app to access your favorite content. Personalization: IPTV allows two-way interactivity, giving users more control over their viewing experience. Just like cable TV, IPTV services offer a wide range of channels, including sports, music, movies, and entertainment. The exact selection varies depending on your IPTV provider.
With its flexibility and convenience, IPTV has become a popular alternative to traditional TV services. This guide will show you how to tap into its potential using Kodi.
Is Watching IPTV on Kodi Legal? Who wouldn’t want to stream live TV channels without worrying about cable or an antenna? But is watching IPTV on Kodi legal? Well, it depends on the method you use.
The first method demonstrates using Kodi’s official PVR IPTV Simple Client to watch IPTV. There’s no harm if you enter an M3U link from your cable provider. However, you could take legal risks using a freely available M3U playlist to watch content on Kodi’s official IPTV addon.
The second method discusses third-party Kodi addons for IPTV. If you use one of these addons, there’s a good chance you’ll break the law at some point, even unknowingly. It’s impossible to know whether every IPTV service is licensed to show every channel it offers.
How to Watch IPTV on Kodi with PVR IPTV Simple Client As mentioned above, we’ll first use Kodi’s official PVR IPTV Simple Client to stream IPTV. We’ll start by installing the PVR addon. After that, we’ll configure it and learn how to stream live TV channels. Lastly, I’ll list some great sources for M3U playlists. Let’s get started.
Part 1: Install the PVR IPTV Simple Client The PVR IPTV Simple Client addon lets you set up IPTV on your device. So, let’s install the addon.
Launch your Kodi application. Click on the Settings Gear in the top-left corner, just below the Kodi logo.

Introduction
In this guide, I’ll walk you through how to expand storage and move apps on your FireStick device. These steps are also compatible with other Fire TV devices, including the FireStick 4K, FireStick 4K Max, and FireStick Lite.
The FireStick Storage Dilemma
The Amazon FireStick is a fantastic device for streaming and cutting the cord, but its limited storage can be a real headache for users.
Here’s the deal:
Most FireStick models come with just 8 GB of storage (with the exception of the FireStick 4K 3rd Gen, which has 16 GB). Out of this, around 3 GB is already occupied by the preinstalled Fire OS and apps, leaving users with very little room for their own apps, media, and add-ons.
This small storage space often leads to:
Running out of space quickly
Performance issues like freezing, blank screens, or buffering
Deleting content to free up space may seem like the only solution, but it often comes at the cost of losing important apps or media files.
Thankfully, there’s a better way. Let’s dive into how you can expand your FireStick’s storage and manage your apps effectively!
The Way Forward – Expanding Fire TV Storage
Luckily, Amazon Fire TVs allow users to expand their device storage. You can now add an external storage device of up to 128 GB to store apps, media, and other files.
What You Need to Expand FireStick Storage
It would help if you had the following to expand your FireStick storage:
An Up-to-Date Fire TV Device
To expand the storage, you need an up-to-date Fire TV device with Fire OS 7 or higher. These include a FireStick Lite, Fire TV Stick 3rd Gen, New FireStick 4K, and New FireStick 4K Max.
USB 3.0 Flash Drive
You will need a USB drive with at least 4 GB of memory space. According to Amazon, the FireStick supports up to 128 GB external storage devices.
Ideally, you want one capable of 3.0 speeds, which are significantly faster. Moreover, you don’t need to format the USB drive if it is new or unused, as your FireStick will do that for you.
Micro USB OTG Cable
To connect your FireStick to the USB drive, you will need an OTG Y-cable.
How to Expand FireStick Storage
When the required items are ready, follow the steps below to expand your FireStick storage.
Update FireStick to the Latest Version
First, check if your device is updated to a Fire OS 7 operating system. Below are the steps to check your FireOS is up-to-date:
4. Select your device and see the version number on the right. You are good to go if you see a Fire OS 7 version displayed under Software Version. If not, update to the latest version available.
Connect USB Flash Drive to FireStick
Please follow these steps:
1. First, let’s connect the USB flash drive to FireStick:
Plug the male micro-USB connection of the Y-OTG cable into the FireStick’s power port.
Insert the power cable into the female micro-USB port of the Y-OTG cable.
Lastly, connect the USB flash drive to the USB port of the Y-OTG cable.
There you go. You have now expanded your FireStick storage space.
Move Apps to External USB OTG Storage
Before you begin this step, confirm that the USB drive has been properly formatted and is ready to accept apps from the Fire TV device.
How To Move Apps from the FireStick’s Internal Storage to the USB Flash Drive
Follow these steps to transfer apps to the USB drive:
Things to Keep in Mind When Moving Apps to External USB
For one, when your USB drive is attached, any newly installed movable apps will install on the external drive.
Not every app can be moved to an external USB drive. The Move to USB Storage option only appears for those you can move. After you have moved an app, a USB icon will appear beside it on the app list.
Furthermore, the data and cache will stay in the internal memory, even for the apps you can move. Any apps installed directly on the USB drive will also have their data and cache saved in the internal memory.
Move the apps with the largest file sizes to the USB drive to conserve internal memory space.
If you decide to remove your USB drive in the future, the apps and files you have saved will immediately disappear from your FireStick. But don’t worry, that does not erase them from the USB drive. As long as you do not format the drive or it does not get corrupted, your apps will return when you reconnect it to the FireStick.
FAQs
Why is my FireStick storage so limited? Most FireStick devices come with only 8GB of internal storage (16GB for FireStick 4K 3rd Gen). Of this, 3GB is used by the system and preinstalled apps, leaving minimal space for user apps and data.
Can I expand FireStick storage? Yes, you can expand the storage on your FireStick by connecting an external USB storage device using a USB OTG cable. FireStick supports up to 128GB of external storage.
What do I need to expand FireStick storage? You’ll need a USB 3.0 flash drive (at least 4GB), a micro USB OTG cable, and an up-to-date Fire TV device (Fire OS 7 or higher).
How do I connect an external USB drive to my FireStick? Plug the micro-USB end of the OTG cable into your FireStick’s power port, then connect the USB drive to the OTG cable. After that, go to Settings > My Fire TV > USB Drive to format the drive for use.
How do I move apps to external storage? Once the USB drive is formatted, go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications. Select the app you want to move and click “Move to USB Storage.”
Can all apps be moved to external storage? No, not all apps can be moved. Only apps that support external storage will have the “Move to USB” option available. Once moved, a USB icon will appear next to the app in your list.
What happens if I remove the USB drive? If you remove the USB drive, the apps stored on it will be unavailable until the drive is reconnected. However, the apps will not be deleted from the USB drive unless you format it.
Does moving apps to a USB drive improve FireStick performance? Yes, moving apps, especially larger ones, to the external drive can free up space on your FireStick’s internal memory and improve its performance by reducing issues like freezing and buffering.
How can I check if my FireStick is up-to-date? Go to Settings > My Fire TV > About and check the Fire OS version. If it’s below version 7, update your FireStick to ensure compatibility with external storage expansion.
Can I use any USB drive with FireStick? It’s best to use a USB 3.0 drive with at least 4GB of storage. While FireStick supports up to 128GB, using a faster USB 3.0 drive will provide better performance.

INTRODUCTION
In this guide, I’m sharing the best FireStick tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your device. Whether you’re using the Fire TV Stick 2nd Gen, FireStick 4K, Fire TV Cube, or FireStick Lite, these tips will work seamlessly across all Fire TV devices.
FireStick is hands down one of the best streaming devices available today. It’s affordable, fast, and incredibly easy to use. Whether you’re watching Netflix, Hulu, Disney+,IPTV or any other streaming platform, FireStick gives you access to a world of entertainment. Plus, it’s perfect for downloading and using a variety of third-party apps, further enhancing your streaming options.
But here’s the thing—while FireStick is already fantastic, with a few small tips and tricks, you can take your streaming experience to the next level. I’ve been using Fire TV devices for years as a cord-cutter, and the tricks I’m about to share have helped me maximize the potential of my FireStick. I’m confident these tips will make a big difference for you too!
Best FireStick Tips and Tricks for Cord-cutters
So, here comes my list of the top tips for FireStick. These are simple, safe, and easy to apply.
1. Jailbreak FireStick
Jailbreak your FireStick to make the most out of it. However, we are not discussing the conventional jailbreak process like you do with your phone. Jailbreaking FireStick is a simple, risk-free process. All you need to do is sideload some third-party jailbreak apps.
When you jailbreak your FireStick, you allow yourself unlimited access to movies, shows, sports, news, and a lot more.
You do not require any technical knowledge to jailbreak your device. Even a layperson like me can do it within a few minutes.
Just go through our step-by-step guide on how to jailbreak your FireStick and explore the endless world of streaming.
2. Use your phone as a remote control for FireStick
Amazon Fire TV remote app has the same controls as your physical remote (except the volume and power buttons for your TV). In place of the navigation ring and Select/OK button, the remote app for mobiles has a touchpad. You can swipe the touchpad up/down or left/right to navigate FireStick and any installed apps. To click, tap anywhere on the touchpad.
If your FireStick remote is not working or you want an alternative remote control, the Fire TV remote app can be very effective. It works with FireStick 2nd Gen, Fire TV Stick 4K, and Fire TV Cube.
3. Install Mouse Toggle to navigate certain apps
Some APKs aren’t meant for TV or your FireStick. They are designed for touch devices, such as your mobile phone. You can still sideload them onto your FireStick/Fire TV device. However, it would be difficult – even impossible – to navigate such apps. Your remote navigation will not reach certain sections, no matter how much you try.
In such cases, you can install a third-party app called Mouse Toggle. This app displays a mouse pointer on your FireStick. You can navigate this pointer with your remote. This pointer can reach and click those sections of the various apps where your FireStick remote won’t reach.
I recommend Mouse Toggle as a must-have app. In fact, it also features in our list of Best apps for FireStick.
How to install Mouse Toggle on FireStick
4. Calibrate the TV display to fit the videos
If you think the videos aren’t correctly calibrated to your TV screen, there is a way to fix that. Whether the videos are shrunk or overshooting the screen, calibration will help you match the screen size. Thankfully, you don’t need to do it every time you want to watch something; you have to do it once.
Here are the steps to calibrate the FireStick screen with your TV:
Open the Settings on your FireStick (select it in the menu bar on the top)
Click Display & Sounds
Click Display
Click Calibrate Display
Press the Up or Down buttons on the remote to adjust the display.
6. Use Alexa for voice control and voice search
Tumblr media
This could be a handy FireStick trick for cord-cutters. You probably already know that your FireStick comes with a built-in, sweet-talking AI called Alexa. It can answer many questions, such as “How is the weather in Manhattan?” or Find me top-rated bakeries in Cincinnati.”
However, it can do a lot more than answer your questions. Alexa can also open streaming apps for you – even look for a title. This means you don’t always have to use your FireStick remote.
Note that Alexa works only with the official apps from the Amazon Store. It won’t open third-party apps for you.
7. Connect Bluetooth headphones/speakers to FireStick
You can connect a Bluetooth headphone or speaker to your FireStick. With Bluetooth headphones, you can watch a late-night movie without disturbing others. . Or, if you are looking for a somewhat cinematic audio experience, you can pair your Bluetooth-compatible external speakers with your FireStick.
Here are the steps to do that:
Turn on your headphones or speaker. Turn on the Bluetooth and make sure it is in the ‘discoverable’ mode
Open the FireStick Settings from the home screen
Click the option Controllers & Bluetooth Devices
Click Other Bluetooth Devices
Click Add Bluetooth Devices
Wait while the FireStick scans for the available Bluetooth Devices
Your device will appear on your TV in a few seconds. Click your device to pair it with your FireStick/Fire TV
8. Reset apps (clear data/clear cache)
As a cord-cutter, you may have experienced that certain apps start behaving erratically for no apparent reason. This could happen to the Amazon Store apps as well as third-party apps.
You will often be suggested to uninstall and reinstall the problem app to fix the issue. This troubleshooting technique usually works. However, before going through the long-drawn process of uninstalling and reinstalling the app, you may want to reset the app first (or even clear the cache). This might save you some time.
When you reset the app, you restore it to the original factory settings. Here is how you can do it:
Go to the FireStick Settings from the home screen
Click Applications
Open the option Manage Installed Applications
Choose the problem app from the list of the apps that appear on the next screen
Click Clear cache (if you only want to clear the cache and not reset the app) Click Clear data if you want to reset the app (this will also clear the cache)
Click Clear data again (if you chose Clear data in the previous step)
9. Cast/Mirror videos onto FireStick
You can cast/mirror content from other devices onto FireStick. Mirroring works with mobiles, tablets, and computers.
For this to work, the platform on which you are playing the video must support the cast feature. Also, your FireStick and the casting device must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Yes, that is all you need to do. I enjoy this feature as a cord-cutter. I can play many videos on various platforms that I can’t get on my FireStick.
10. Get an IPTV Subscription
This is probably one of the best FireStick tricks for a cord cutter who wants to stream cable TV channels at an affordable price.
Some top-rated IPTV services offer access to hundreds of satellite channels for a paid subscription. These services provide a cost-effective IPTV solution as compared to the other cable service providers.
Take a look at our list of the best IPTV service providers . You will also find the link to the installation guides for each service.
Please note that we haven’t verified the authenticity of these service providers. Be a good judge of your actions and stream only from legal sources. Always use a VPN to maintain your privacy and anonymity.

INTRODUCTION
Today, I’m going to walk you through how to fix the FireStick Black Screen issue. This problem is fairly common and can happen for a variety of reasons, such as issues with your TV or the FireStick device itself.
While FireStick is a popular and reliable streaming device, like any tech, it can sometimes run into problems. You might experience issues like sound errors, black screens, or random restarts.
The FireStick Black Screen or No Display issue occurs when your TV screen shows only a black screen with no visual output. Your FireStick may also become unresponsive to remote commands. Though it can seem like a serious problem, there are some simple fixes you can try.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through the potential causes of a Black Screen on your FireStick and show you how to resolve them on your own.
How to Use a FireStick with a Black Screen?
If you’re dealing with a black screen on your FireStick, don’t worry! Before jumping into fixes, it helps to understand what kind of black screen you’re facing and how to apply solutions accordingly.
There are two types of black screens you might experience on a FireStick:
Continuous Black Screen: The black screen doesn’t go away, and the device is unresponsive.
Periodic Black Screen: The black screen appears intermittently, often while using specific apps or functions.
Let’s break down how to handle each of these issues.
1. Continuous Black Screen on FireStick
A continuous black screen means your FireStick is showing no display at all, or just a black screen with no response to remote commands. This typically points to a hardware-related issue. But don’t worry—here’s what you can do:
Change HDMI Connection
Sometimes the issue is simply a poor HDMI connection. Unplug the HDMI cable from both the FireStick and your TV, then plug it back in securely. If that doesn’t solve it, try a different HDMI cable or port. Sometimes the port itself can be the problem, so try another HDMI port on your TV.
Check TV Compatibility
If you’re using an older TV or monitor, you might be running into compatibility issues. FireStick requires HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) compliance, which protects against copying digital media. Older TVs may not support this, and as a result, you won’t be able to see the FireStick interface. If your TV isn’t HDCP-compliant, you’ll need to use a newer TV.
Check for Overheating
Overheating can cause a black screen and other performance issues. FireSticks can overheat if they’re in a hot or enclosed space. Make sure your device is in a well-ventilated area. You might want to consider using an HDMI extension cable to keep the FireStick away from your TV, as TVs can also generate a lot of heat. If the FireStick feels warm to the touch, give it a break to cool down before using it again.
Check Internet Connectivity
If you’ve just set up your FireStick and are seeing a black screen, it might not be able to connect to Amazon’s servers due to internet connectivity issues. Ensure your Wi-Fi is working properly, and your modem is connected. A green light on your Wi-Fi modem indicates a good connection, while a blinking or red light means there’s an issue. Apps like Netflix require a stable internet connection, so ensure your network is functioning properly.
2. Periodic Black Screens on FireStick
If the black screen only appears occasionally—perhaps when opening a certain app or using specific functions—it’s likely a software issue. FireStick should still be responsive during these black screens, but if it isn’t, you can try restarting the device by unplugging and plugging it back in.
Here’s how to fix a periodic black screen:
Troubleshoot App Compatibility
If the black screen occurs only with a specific app, the issue might be with that app itself. Sometimes apps work fine until they are updated, and the update may cause compatibility problems. One common cause is cache conflicts. To fix this, you can clear the app’s cache:
Close the app before clearing its cache, then relaunch it to see if the issue is fixed. If the problem persists, you may have to reinstall the app from the Amazon App Store.
Update FireStick OS
Sometimes, older firmware may keep your device from working correctly with newer apps. This may result in lags, performance issues, display problems, and audio distortions.
Overall, system stability is compromised when you miss critical updates for your Amazon FireStick. If you have not yet updated your FireStick OS, this may be the right time.
Here are the steps you need to follow to update your FireStick OS to the latest version.
Restart FireStick
Restarting fixes countless issues on any device and has a similar effect on Amazon FireSticks. Suppose you faced a black screen when your FireStick was working, ideally before the error. In that case, it may be a temporary issue.
A quick restart will most probably fix it. Follow these steps to restart your FireStick.
Alternatively, you can unplug your FireStick and then plug it back in to restart the device. It is also good practice to wait 5-10 seconds before turning your FireStick back on.
Using FireStick Remote To Force Restart
