Saturday July 14th
Begin exhibition artwork practice with students. Practice are done on A3 paper with pencil. Color scheme as well as painting techniques were also discussed with the students. I had a new regular student for my Saturday class. His name is Zayleb and he is 3 years old. Zayleb joins the program at Level 1 and his projects mostly consists of drawing basic shapes, understanding primary colours, painting using fun techniques and painting on cutouts done by the teachers. Zayleb does not do well with attending art class without his parent waiting in class. Hence, I have to figure out ways to distract him from needing his parent by turning his attention towards fun painting and finding his specific area of interest in art class.

Sunday July 1st Had regular class in the morning and at noon. After lunch, I was required to teach at Siglap Centre studio, to replace Faz’s afternoon Class.
Siglap Centre studio is a 10 minute walk away from the studio in Mandarin Gardens. The studio is shared with art classes for adults. There are only two teachers who teach Little Blossoms class in Siglap. The students’ artworks were prepared by Faz before she went on urgent leave. The students were warm and welcoming of a replacement teacher. It was a pleasant to the teach Faz’s students.

Saturday June 23rd
Welcomed a new student to my regular class. Her name is Sarah Tan, 6 years old. Sarah did an acrylic painting of a butterfly, which was an artwork of her on choosing. Sarah is my first original student that joins Little Artist under my tutelage from the beginning of her journey here. Parents are concerned with the projects that she will be doing as well as the range of mediums that she will explore with.  In the studio timetable, names highlighted in Yellow indicates a new student, names highlighted in green indicates Holiday Program students, names highlighted in Red indicates students that are withdrawing from the school, names highlighted in Blue indicates that they are absent for class and names highlighted in Orange indicates that they are in JP1/2 level in the program.
Sunday June 24th Exhibition artwork drafts done by myself are shown tot he students for them to approve and add or remove any details. These drafts are then sent to the teacher in charge of exhibition artwork approval. A meeting with the teacher in charge will take place some time in the following week to approve the exhibition artworks.

18th June Holiday Program Studio Timetable
Monday June 18th Tuesday June 19th Wednesday June 20th
Holiday Program classes in the morning from 18th to 20th June.  On 18th June, Monday, I had to help other teachers in the studio teach their students as I only had 3 students to teach. My students Brenda, Joshua and Judah had good painting skills for their age. Brenda was much more well behaved as compared to the two boys. However, Joshua behaves better in class as compared to his brother, Judah. It was rather difficult to get Judah to stay focused as he wanted attention from all the teachers in the studio. All three children produced good quality artworks at the end of the day.
Other days were spent taking replacement classes for Holiday Program students, who missed their scheduled classes in the morning and had a replacement class on another day or in the evening.

Date: June 16 & 17
Saturday June 16th,
Regular class with regular students. I am informed by studio supervisors that every project a student starts has to be completed within 2 classes at maximum. Students have to complete at least 3 projects a month. The rush to complete projects within two classes was challenging. I find that planning my classes and understanding each projects provided helped in the process making. It also helped that I take note of important educational notes to teach the students while they are working on a project.  Sunday, June 17th
Moe’s regular class with regular students. Discussion of exhibition artwork with students has begun. 30 minutes of brainstorming with students, including some time doing google search using the studio laptop.

Monday June 11 Tuesday June 12 Wednesday June 13
All mornings spent teaching Holiday Program students. Need less guidance from senior teachers. Beginning to get comfortable in the studios and with the students. Situations get stressful when students show up with no prior notice to the school, hence becoming an extra student for the hour.
