witchy tips for the adhd student

School is starting up again and I know that it’s a hard time for a lot of ADHD students like myself! So here’s some tips, mundane combines with otherworldly, to help get you through the term! ***But please do not use these instead of taking your medication. It’s there to do it’s job, these are there to help it along the way.***

use blue for focus, light purple/lavender for knowledge, and yellow for memory in your highlighters for your notes. not only are these witchy correspondences but using different coloured highlighters will help organize your notes, and help you remember them better.

drink black tea while you’re studying or in class. caffeine is said to help us ADHDers focus since it’s a stimulant, but it’s also said to banish boredom.

keep azurite, fluorite, sapphire, or smoky quartz in your pocket to fidget with in class. these are all stones that help with focus and learning so their correspondences will help you while you have something to fidget with.

burn incense associated with focus and learning while you study, if you can. the scent will also help you remember and associate with what you’re studying.

spell jars for focus and memory are great to keep in your pocket/bag

@orriculum had this fabulous idea for charmed pens which would be great for studying and give you something to fidget with in class

write sigils for focus/memory in the back of your notebooks

lastly and most importantly and not very witchy, STUDY IN INTERVALS. the BIGGEST AND MOST HELPFUL TIP my psychologist ever gave me was study in intervals, study for 10-15 minutes, take a break for 10-15 minutes. executive dysfunction and the adhd mind does not like the idea of sitting down for hours and doing one thing. so don’t even try. it won’t work. you’ll be much more successful with studying in intervals.

“When I called for an ambulance, I started traveling to Srinagar because I was expecting, but the ambulance was stopped at so many (checkpoints) along the route that I gave birth inside the vehicle,” Mehraj said.

Outside the busy hospital, people struggled to communicate with family and neighbors.

A woman peering out of a window asked a group of reporters if they could find out about a sick person from a family living nearby. “We’ve no contact,” the middle-aged woman said before she could give her name as soldiers ordered journalists to move on.

No news was coming from elsewhere in the tense region.

Police and paramilitary officials enforcing the restrictions said they were clueless about how long the curfew would continue. “We know only about what’s going on in the street we’re deployed. We don’t know how it is in the next street,” said a police official in Srinagar’s city center who could not be named in accordance with standard practice.

TREMENDOUS NEED OF HELP!! FINANCIAL CRISIS

TL;DR: I am in a position where I could wind up homeless, once again, and have recently lost one of my jobs. I am doing my best to find new employment and to resolve the issue, however, I there is no solid answer on how long it will take.

So, I’ve mentioned a couple times now that there’s a running risk of me ending up homeless once again. Back around December, I did a good amount of couch jumping for about a month; going from friend to friend, and even tried staying with my family for a time (which was an awful, awful, awful idea and ended up in a meltdown). Because I was in such bad shape, had nowhere to go, and no job, I drove 500 miles to Virginia.

It’s been a few months- things honestly have not improved much. The job market down here, at least in this city, is RIDICULOUSLY competitive. I have never had so much trouble in my entire life to get full-time employment. I have only been able to get part-time retail employment and worked multiple jobs up until just a few days ago. Even WITH ME APPLYING TO 50-100 JOBS ON A WEEKLY/BI-WEEKLY BASIS, AND OFTEN TIMES MULTIPLE INTERVIEWS IN A WEEK.

As you can understand, it is not sustainable. Especially since my monthly bills tend to run incredibly high because of previous medical expenses and student debt. 

I am 500 miles away from any family and friends with a car that needs a lot of work done to it, but I don’t have the damn funds to get fixed. I would NOT make it back.

To make matters worse, I’ve recently had a change in employment due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances. I was not fired from the position, but now I only have the job that gives me $80/weekly. So, this has put me into 100% panic mode to find something else ASAP. I have applied to almost every single thing I’ve seen on Indeed, Monster, SnagJob; so on so forth.

So, honestly, unless I can find another part-time job or get full-time within the next two weeks, then I honestly do not what I’ll fucking do. I don’t know anyone else, there is nowhere for me to go, and I sincerely doubt my car could make the long-ass drive back.

ANYTHING WOULD BE SO HELPFUL TO ME RIGHT NOW. ANYTHING AT ALL. IT AMOUNTS TO SOMETHING AND ANYTHING WILL AT LEAST HELP COVER IMMEDIATE BILLS, FOOD, GAS, MY MEDS, AND GIVE ME THE CHANCE TO DEDICATE MORE TIME TO SEARCHING FOR WORK.

Ayato Kirishima w/a badass reader

Ghoul reader 

~Disclaimer: I feel as if Ayato, in his teens, wouldn’t keep any sort of ties to a human especially if they talked back or defied him. It’s safer to make the reader a ghoul. ~Reader knew Ayato since he was in his mid teens, but they’re distant friends as Ayato left to join Aogiri. ~Relationship: Distant but close friends (teen Ayato)

Ayato usually tries to handle his temper around you because

(1) You’re not going to back down, no matter what

(2) He respects you to some degree

You’re the person that will check his attitude faster than any Aogiri superior he’s had

There are times that your arguments will turn into full on fights

All of which you both aren’t looking to hurt each other

It’s a meditation thing between you two

All action and no words

Ayato is a man that is more actions than words but you have to be careful because his actions will often betray his heart

Even if you do end up hurt in a fight, you both will patch each other up in the end (no matter how angry you are at each other)

The fights also reassure Ayato that you can hold your own

His insults and remarks do get to you sometimes though

One time he crossed the line so you just got up and left but a fight commenced and he broke (2) of your bones and you tore off a bit of his kagune with your teeth

^^ fights like those are common

“Bitchbaby” “Dumbass” “Fuckall” are all nicknames you use for him

Each one of those has a story that Ayato wishes didn’t exist

This friendship may seem close but there is a reason as to why you two decide to be distant friends. If you were to be with him at least 4 days each week, the two of you would try killing each other constantly

There are times that you’re fighting someone from the CCG and Ayato stays back because he’s too busy admiring your fighting style

There are moments where he had caught you crying and he forced you to tell him why you had been crying

If it’s someone that hurt you he goes after them

Only after he tells you that showing emotions is weak and it’s best to suck it up

He knows it takes a lot to even get a tear out of you so he takes it seriously

If you’re in Aogiri he always volunteers to go on missions with you

When the CCG raided the Aogiri base and Kaneki was being rescued from his kidnapping, you fought Ayato in an attempt to protect Touka

He ended up knocking you out after awhile to get to Touka

You and Touka have a good relationship btw because you can actually tolerate her more than her brother

It’s a rocky friendship so no sort of romance happens until he becomes older and subtly apologizes for all of the things he did to you

Domestic Mysme headcanons

 Yoosung: 💚

Cleaning the apartment + cuddles

You two have certain days throughout the week that you guys designate to cleaning the apartment

Surprisingly it was Yoosung’s idea

There’s always a candle lit at the end to finalize all cleaning

You two crank up the music (but not too loud because neighbors are a thing), bust out the cleaning supplies, then it’s go time

During the little breaks you catch him playing his game and have to manhandle him away from his computer

“There’s not even that many chores left!” You whines but Yoosung was adamant and would only leave his computer chair in exchange for..kisses

In which you happily supply them

While cleaning the two of you would quickly peck the other’s cheek for each chore they got done

“Give me more kisses (y/n)! “ “you got (1) chore done!”

Once you finish cleaning, he’s cuddling into your side while you hold him to your chest

Won’t admit it but loves that position with all of his heart

Bonus exp: run your hands through his hair or just pet him

Cuddle sessions after cleaning usually ends up being nap time

The two of you make sure to clean yourselves up before each cuddle

You actually join him in the shower so you can hurry up and cuddle

These aren’t his favorite days but he does love cleaning if it’s with you

Getting ready + Visiting work

He always has a morning pep talk ,always, but he became flustered when you quipped into one he had

“Alright Zen..” he would start “you are one HUNK of a man!” You would yell from the bedroom

Since then he always looks for your little sassy/snide/encouraging comments

The one time you brushed and styled his hair, he was surprised at how well it turned out

“Oh wow babe..you did better than I usually do! You might have to start brushing my hair for me.” He would flirt

He always comes to you for outfit opinions

Values your opinion about what he looks good in

Even lets you choose his outfits sometimes

Brushing your teeth together and you guys just bump hips

Him laughing at the toothpaste being all over your face

You laughing at his face when he accidentally drank the mouthwash like a shot  

Him singing in the shower and you joining in as you’re washing your face

Always appreciates you visiting him at work

If you tell him that you’re visiting before he leaves, he’s always waiting in anticipation

Bonus: if you bring him a meal and force him to take a break because you know he likes to overwork himself

While you’re at his job, he always shows you off to the directors and his coworkers

If you’re in the same career as him, he’ll recommend you and boast about your skills

The staff knows so much about you from Zen talking about you so much

If you decide to bring food up for the staff then they will all adore you

This makes Zen slightly jealous because they’re getting too close but he’s also proud to call you his like “Oh yeah (y/n) is so lovely and has such a sweet soul, you can practically see why we’re so perfect together”

Morning prep + breakfast

Getting out of Jumin’s bed is a chore especially if he’s still asleep and has his arm around you

Even if he isn’t still in bed, those covers and that mattress feels like heaven

Elly curled up on you feels really comfortable and she’s warm

You always button up his shirt and fix his tie

Once you finish you pat his chest and he gives you a little smooch as thanks

You also pick the tie he’s going to wear each morning

Comfortable silence always feels the air but when he sees you in the morning there’s nothing but adoration in his eyes

Sometimes the both of you watch the sunrise over the city skyline from his living room

He likes to try and do your hair in the morning

Putting it in some fancy braid, putting edge control on your edges

Or if you’re not going anywhere he’ll fix up your scarf/bonnet so it doesn’t slip off of your head

You two always fix Elizabeth’s breakfast before your own

Gotta feed the child first

You usually get his lunch fixed in the morning so when breakfast is finished he can take it

He loves fixing you breakfast so when he does cook in the mornings you’re usually hovering in the kitchen (sitting on the counter, looking through the fridge, etc)

Jaehee: 💛 

A normal day at the bakery + Baehee

You two alternate who bakes in the morning and who straightens up the bakery weekly

Setting out the food and desserts and trying not to eat any

Jaehee scolding you but still making you something small to eat as a snack

You making coffee everyday for Jaehee right before the shop opens

You’re always rewarded a kiss as thanks

The both of you make little snacks for the staff, to make sure they eat before the day starts

You two accidentally being called Mom/Dad by some of the younger staff 

When it isn’t busy Jaehee makes sure the younger employees get any homework they need to done

Any of the food you make for Jaehee, you kiss it so she knows it’s made with love

You two visit other cafes and high end bakeries to see what would be good to add onto your little cafe

“I really like the tiramisu with espresso whipped icing, what do you think (y/n)?” “I think I love you Jaehee..” “Well I would sure hope so (y/n)”

When it’s almost time to close, you would flirt with Jaehee and she would play along

“May I take your order?” “Yes, can I get a makeout session and maybe a side cuddles and kisses please?” “Coming right up, dear!”

Spoiler: You lean over the counter and peck her lips

Closing time is when you blast the music and have fun cleaning

Blasting music from Zen’s musicals will get you a singing Jaehee and her voice is soooooo good, it reminds you of honey

Blasting some old kpop songs would get you and Jaehee both trying to remember the dances and laughing when you can’t

Grocery shopping + cooking together

V still loves to hold your hand as you walk in the grocery store

A habit you grew when he used to have bad eyesight and you would grocery shop with him

Having a shopping list of things you need to get but completely forgetting it at home

Him finding a recipe he wants you to try so you two decide to get the ingredients and cook it later

Making him reach for things on the tall shelves

Watching his back muscles even if they’re faint they’re still there

Once you’re back home you start putting away the groceries as V gets out everything you need for the new recipe

“We didn’t forget anything did we?” “If we did, we can improvise”

As you’re cooking he would take a break from cutting vegetables to give you a back hug and a kiss on the head

V just gazing lovingly at you as you cook and then runs to go grab his camera

Snapping pictures of you cooking and you doing the same to him while he cooks 

Taking pictures of the food you made once it’s finished

Gardening together + bathing

Gardening is the only thing you can get Saeran up for

Any other time it’s a nightmare trying to get him up, more so because you don’t want to disturb his sleep and it’s also because he looks so peaceful when he sleeps and AND-

Yeah

Spraying yourselves with the hose to cool down

Saeran taking off his shirt and you getting flustered

“I see you looking pervert” he’d tease as you vehemently deny his accusations

Getting excited looking at your growing plants

You named all of your plants to make them feel special

Saeran cupping your cheek and wiping some of the dirt off of you

Which only gets more dirt on you but it’s the thought behind it

You set up the bath with bath bombs, candles, and muscle relaxer

He gets the clothes and bed set up so you two can CRASH once you’re finished

Him helping wash your hair and silently asking you to wash his because the way you massage his scalp is so relaxing

Ghoul s/o *The only reason I’m saying that his s/o would be a ghoul is because of how high of a risk they run if they were a human. Uta is renowned in the ghoul world as a mask maker, former leader of the 4th ward, and being apart of the clowns. It’d be so much work that I feel like Uta would avoid having a human s/o*

He’ll pinch your cheek and say “squish”

He isn’t really fazed by anything so surprising him would be difficult but you got it

If you’re an artist, he’ll definitely come to you for your opinion on his pieces 

Bonus: You guys spend time together to have soft music playing in the background and just work on your art

I feel as if he’d like someone who can sing because then you can serenade him to sleep 

If you’re a theater kid you might not want to belt but just sing softly and please be a little more quiet i BeG

He will drape himself on you and put all of his weight on you 

Bonus: You end up falling onto the couch or the floor and just cuddle

On lazy days he’d hold onto you and never want to get up
