one thing im really mad about is how bad representation shannon does of sophie’s (and keefe’s) photographic memory. like yeah!! cool she’s super smart!!

I know a lot of people get annoyed at Sophie’s “obliviousness” but tbh it never bothered me because even as a kid I understood she wasn’t as oblivious as the characters insist she is, it’s just that her self esteem is low due to how she grew up hearing every single thought about her since she was a kid and at 12 she attended high school where ppl aren’t the nicest inside their mind. It’s why she took a long time to finally admit that fitz actually liked her and won’t reject her.

i will never stop shouting about how fitz and keefe are treated differently by the fandom, for example, in neverseen keefe literally punches a wall in anger but it’s never brought up but if fitz did that the fans would have a field day. the double standard for them is crazy

it's always so funny to me when i see takes like "guys i really ship sokeefe and i want them to be happy together but like . . . i really can't see sophie getting past the way keefe was chilling with her kidnapper in the forbidden cities . . . how ever will their relationship survive . . . " because the answer to that question is. shannon messenger. you know. the woman who is writing this series and has put so much time and effort into making sokeefe seem like the perfect ship to the point where it ruins characters and makes sokeefe incredibly forced. trust me when i say if shannon wants sophie and keefe together (which she does) she will put them together

like i can predict exactly how this is going to go in book ten. keefe will tell sophie he hung out with alvar in the forbidden cities. sophie will be mad for all of ten seconds. then she'll go "but oh, i trust keefe/think he's a good person at heart/care about him/oh his traumatic past/his shitty abusive father/mother has warped his sense of normal!!!!" and it will all be okay in the eyes of the narrative. it will affect nothing. sokeefe will be together and this will not affect them at all. they might even kiss. happy ever after. and sokeefe fans will scream that this scene is a sign of the strength of their relationship and how sophie trusts keefe so much and how keefe is such a good boyfriend for telling sophie on his own. or something

the other possibility is that keefe doesn't tell sophie and she somehow finds out on her own, in which case the exact same thing will happen. sophie will feel betrayed for all of eleven seconds (gotta add an extra second because this time he wasn't honest with her!) and then it will continue to not affect sokeefe's relationship at all and will be entirely swept under the rug and sophie's agency will be entirely stripped in order to make keefe the perfect angel. eventually the narrative will force her to forgive keefe in an incredibly forced manner and shannon will pretend this is good relationship development (look! they overcame their very first problem as a couple, isn't it so cute? aren't they so healthy?) (the problem is that keefe hung out with his girlfriend's literal kidnapper and torturer, who by the way, showed literally almost no remorse at all and didn't at all earn his redemption, and for which keefe himself felt no regret)

bonus points if fitz is unfairly demonized because he still hates alvar! (how dare he . . . )

personally if i shipped sokeefe, keefe breaching sophie's trust again with no consequences would not makes me scared for sokeefe's relationship at all seeing as how this is par for the course for keefe. are you new here lmfao

Man I’m so tired of the elves (Sophie’s friends) judging her for eating meat. They always side eye her like “omg how would you do such a thing?” Meanwhile Sophie is in the forbidden cities fucking up a chicken sandwich or steak or whatever her preference is.
