One minute into the new episode and I'm already enraged. I don't care about this fucker. And surrounding him with black people is not going to make me forget that it should be Sam up there.
Sooo... is Steve dead? We didn't get a hint about funeral (at least I didn't catch it). But I highly doubt he'd be ok with Walker taking over his mantle. Even if he actually decided to not to interfere with the government ever again, there still would be some signs of him, right? Unless he changed his id. Still he'd contact Bucky sometimes, right?
some of you dont spend hours creating art or gifs or fics just for them to be ignored or hit with the huge disparity in the like to reblog ratio and it shows
I saw a post talking about how Sam knew modern Steve and was modern Steve's best friend, and Steve didn't know modern Bucky, which resulted in dissonance between the two.
BUT
I think this is a really superficial take on it. I agree that Sam and Steve are best friends, but Steve and Bucky are canonically soulmates. Sam has gotten to know modern Steve, but Bucky and Steve know each other so intimately that it doesn't matter what they have been through. There may be a relearning period, but in the end they know each other's souls. It's part of why Steve and Bucky are kind of inseparable as characters (and why the r*ssos screwed them over so much).
Sam, on the other hand, easily stands on his own as a character. He is best friends with Steve, but he is not intertwined with him.
So yes, on the surface level Sam has "known" modern Steve longer. But Steve and Bucky are timeless.
