i happened to see you in the notes of my laios autism post and i just wanna say, as the socially graceless type of autistic OP was gesturing at, i encourage you to not write dungeon meshi off. Laios is the main character, and there's both clear respect for his humanity/point of view & no attempt to make that respect contingent on sugarcoating the friction between his way of thinking and some others'. In fact, other characters reacting to Laios like OP describes reacting to That Guy is an emotionally deep and plot significant event! I felt very seen and inspired by it, and if you're this type of autistic you might get something out of it too
