Some very sad news, Lora Johnson, author of several hugely influential Star Trek and Star Wars technical manuals, has passed away.

Her books were a huge part of my childhood, I adored Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise. Elements of her work have shown up in numerous technical books, novels and her unreleased TMP Enterprise deck plans are the basis for the Roddenberry Archive's version of the classic movie ship. Even some of my most popular posts here were pages of her work. Rest in peace.

Riker's iconic flirting sesh with Guinan

2a. Riker's shit-eating grin at the prospect of being absolutely destroyed by Troi during her Betazoid mid-life phase

2b. Riker getting turned on by the prospect of being absolutely destroyed by a Klingon woman

3. Riker getting so riled up from a kiss that he has to go the Designated Masturbation Room (holodeck 4)

4. Riker using his mental link with Troi to say I love you one last time (and then bc of the link, Troi knew where he was and could save him!!! god that was such a good moment in Picard)

5. Riker comforting Troi with a big ol hug (I WANT A RIKER HUG.)

Honorable mentions:

the ENTIRE episode The Measure of a Man, where he has to argue against Data being sentient/a real person and he struggles so hard with it but if he doesn't, then Data will certainly be sent away for experimentation, and if he does then he has a chance--and how broken up he is about it but Data thanks him?? it's just. So Good.

Any time he does the maneuver™

His part in the entire Borg arc was awesome--seeing Riker as the acting captain, keeping his shit together and the entire ship's shit together while grappling with the very real possibility that he might have to kill Picard/Locutus--great stuff.
