logging out of this account lads :(
it’s been a fun four/five years, but I’ve been let down by marvel too much to consider letting it be my main ever again. if anyone wants to stay in touch, the new blog is in the description. I will miss my wonderful followers, and I hope you have great lives!

Robert Downey Jr. Fandom Project
He stood before us 11 years ago and said he clearly wasn’t the superhero type because of his laundry list of character defects. And then told us he was Iron Man, anyway. For more than a decade, he made us laugh, cry, snark and taught us that if we aren’t on our side, then why should anyone else be? He spent a lifetime bringing one of Marvel’s second-tier superheroes out of the periphery to life — the hero who shaped an entire generation, and helped others find hope, meaning and purpose one way or another. His contributions to Marvel, superhero films and Hollywood are both undeniable and unparalleled.
As we celebrate the growing mainstream recognition for his craft, for everything he has put into creating Tony Stark, our Tony Stark, we thought this would be on opportune moment to show Robert Downey Jr. how much we love and appreciate him, even as his Marvel journey draws to a close.
We are writing an open letter to him and working to commission a small present — we haven’t figured out the details for this, but will provide updates as we go along — as a token of our affection and gratitude. But we would love for the fandom at large to participate.
So, we have this form where you can leave a short message for him, all of which would be published on this page, alongside our open letter. The plan is to send the link to Jimmy and tag RDJ on social media once we’ve compiled everything together, so he can visit the page and read through all his fans’ messages in one place.
To participate, simply fill out the form by Saturday, June 15, and we will format all the responses and publish them to the Medium page. If you have any questions, feel free to message any of the following blogs and we’ll be happy to answer you: @kayytx @rescueironman @jess-b-thot @starkravinghazelnuts @downeylove @downeyverse
Let’s work together to show RDJ how much we appreciate and love him 3000.

will you still have a toe in marvel or will you drop it all together?
I'll probably reblog the pretty art or gifsets eventually, but atm I'm just really done with directors and writers and "kill your darlings". I'm technically a marvel fan but everything that happened after spiderman: homecoming hasn't happened, you feel?
however! once I've got "stars" set up i may or may not set up a fandom blog where I can post my headcanons and stuff, I just need to see if people would be interested!

So can I just say I love that when the Endgame cast is stripped down to the most important players we have: the original six Avengers, a couple of newer characters who are key to the time travel/defeating Thanos plot (Carol, Scott, Nebula, etc), and… Rhodey.
Dude is not just a sidekick. He’s been in the game since the beginning, since Iron Man, and as War Machine he’s been a superhero in his own right for nearly as long.
In other words, I’m happy that Rhodey’s importance to the MCU is being validated by the narrative in such a blatant way. And as a longtime member of the Rhodey Appreciation Squad (president: Tony Stark) I’m excited to see what’s in store.

After the avengers movies are over in April there will be like three things our posts end up boiling down to:
Tony getting topped by various members of the team
Avengers 2012 posts that pointedly ignore the fact that said movies are over
Return of the civil war discourse where everyone tells everyone else to kill themselves over fictional superhero teams

I've not watched the mcu's inhumans and I didn't keep up with AOS for that long after the reveal BUT we already have a changed origin story for the maximoffs, so it's not unfeasible that we could play around with kamala's background! we've introduced peter, who appears to be building off iron man's legacy, not quite taking on the mantle, which is great, so doing something similar for carol and kamala later down the line seems possible.
imagine creating a proper next gen avengers - not quite the young avengers, but all these kids inspired by their heroes to be the next generation of earth's defenders? if that's the route the mcu wants to go, I certainly wouldn't complain.
in your opinion, should MCU introduce Kamala Khan alongside Carol ? Yes Kamala takes the mantle from Carol but why not have them at the same time? as Kamala is Inhuman while Carol is human/knee.
I don’t think I know enough about Marvel comics to answer this — I’ve never read them, I’m an MCU-only girl, and the things I do know from comics I know from fandom so I’m not really the person to ask this.

Fandom will bend over backwards to paint Chris Evans as a progressive hero when all he does is make fun of Trump on twitter.
Meanwhile, Don Cheadle has BEEN fighting white supremacists on twitter and shows up on SNL supporting trans kids AND throwing shade at Trump

@mayfriend humans hunted bears out of existence in scotland! there used to be bears here! also, there are tons of stories in the irish and scottish gaelic tradition (back when they were a continuous cultural area, at least language wise) of animal transformations, esp to teach a lesson
also the brother bear analysis is spot on
One of the most overlooked elements of Brother Bear is the fact that it specifically takes place in Paleolithic North America when humans first reached the continent. In any other movie it would be the core focus but instead it’s about a dude who gets turned into a bear
