Shifting is as easy as sleeping.

To fall asleep, you close your eyes and pretend you’re already asleep. So, to shift, you have to just pretend you shifted- don’t even close your eyes.

Yes, it can take time. Yes, you could lay there with your eyes closed for hours trying to slip into slumber. But you know that, eventually, you will fall asleep.

The same goes for shifting, just fake it till you make it. Like how you do with everything else already.

OHMWODNDBC OH MY GOSH??:?_? THANK YYIUUU (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠)♡

1. My eyes! Not only have I been told all my life they're really pretty, but it's also my favourite part of myself, with my long eyelashes and my beauty mark under my left eye.

2. My creativity!! For scripting and outside of that, I know I am a very creative person!

3. My determination. Even with all my personal troubles with myself, (depression & trouble identifying my own personality traits) I finally always find myself moving forward, trying my best to become better.

4. My fashion sense! Even if it sounds kinda arrogant (?) I have to add it. It's one thing that slowly is making me find my own identity as a recovering full-time people-pleaser, so I'm really proud of it! (for curious ppl, it's gyaru, tho I just started so I'm neither that good nor really knowledgeable, but I'm between tsuyome & agejo with touches of amekaji!)

5. My voice. Now this was something a little difficult to choose because my mind went completely blank after the fourth (⁠｡⁠ﾉ⁠ω⁠＼⁠｡⁠) but I really like my natural voice! Not high-pitched, a little bit lower than usual girls, and honestly quite loud, but that just means I'm still alive and I can still yap, sing, complain, etc. A reminder I still can talk and enjoy little things

I actually do feel like the "unemployed friend on a Tuesday" meme actually helps de-stigmatize unemployment because it frequently affirms that when you don't have a job you're more likely to be getting up to some weird shit rather than just lazing around. But I also feel like the unemployed friend is frequently up to some random shit because there's a whole pile of miscellaneous life tasks that full-time employment keeps people from. The unemployed friend is helping their cousin move, or babysitting, or checking in with a neighbor with mobility issues. The unemployed friend is a walking thesis on the inflexibility of our current labor landscape and just how much work exists outside of work.

kids these days are like “i need chat gpt to write an essay that would normally take 12 hours in 2” but back in my day i did that all the time by using a little technique called “writing some absolute bullshit.” and yet i still walked away with a better essay and more critical thinking skills than i would get if i used chatgpt. write a bad essay that you started on the day it was due, but write it yourself.
