I’ve always dreamed of having my hair this long. I’m sure it’s a lot of upkeep but I’ve always wanted to get it to this point as somewhat of an achievement. I’d probably keep it for a few years and trim it to a more manageable length. I think it’s because I’d much rather go against the grain than with the grain. Crazy thing is, this is similar to my curl pattern (which most guys have no idea of because they're made to keep their hair short).

As you can see, this is a pretty sensitive subject for me. I always wanted dreadlocks and was always advised against them because of the negative perceptions of men who have dreadlocks. Few people realize that this is actually a spiritual journey in which an individual gets to know themselves more. It’s so more than just a hairstyle. If other cultures are not pressured about their hairstyles, we shouldn’t be either. Women fight this fight as well but men are typically expected to just cut it off without complaining. We should just “man up” and make that money. Hair isn’t supposed to be worth it. If a man fights for his hair it makes him soft or even gay right? This is the culture in which we live: this is AmeriKKKa

This was my inspiration for a Christmas Card from a Son to a Father who had a rocky relationship. The card simply implied that “Dad” is the real Santa. Instead of the typical Santa Beard, I used this picture as inspiration for an African American Beard and full lips. The Picture also goes with my concept for #DeathOfTheCaesarCut

This is clean and well-kept but is most likely not acceptable in Corporate AmeriKKKa. Although this is clearly inspired by African (Egyptian) Culture. AmeriKKA is afraid of any culture that is not their own. #DeathOfTheCaesarCut

Long Hair, Don’t Care. Rich in melanin; Still a professional Black Man! (This may be a concept for a card design for Phoenix Rising - Greeting Cards for Black Men and Boys)

This goes with a part of my MindMap that says “death of the Caesar Cut”. Which pretty much speaks to the need of corporate America to dictate how men wear their hair. Any hairstyle other than trimmed and close comes off as unprofessional. Hair is definitely part of our culture. We should be free to express it however we like without being judged.

Another image of the “darkest” and “lightest” man in the world. Showing that melanin is more complex than we thought.

I guess this one is more so personal inspiration. I have come a very long way from where I used to be but sometimes I have to remind myself that self love is the best love

This is an image of the darkest and lightest man in the world and they are both apparently black! Still checking the validity of this shoot and the statement. But this does give me ideas about including a black and white design for the logo or working in black and white to see what happens

This picture raised a lot of controversy about masculinity and how two men cannot be this intimate and be heterosexual. Sexuality is such a complex ideal that black men can’t truly explore without being ridiculed.

It’s crazy how that same dude you thought was a thug is the same gentleman who has the ability to be pictured with the governor of the state of Virginia! But you gone head and hold your children close, because you’re right... I AM DANGEROUS but not for reasons you think. My strongest weapons are my mind, my smile, my charisma, my versatility. They say you’ve become a man when you can walk with kings and not lose the common touch. I guess today is the day, I’ve become a man.

My all-time favorite male artist. Not even going to get into it. Just know that I realize he’s human and some humans don’t really need the spotlight 24/7. We put that pressure on him and so many other celebrities and later wonder why they let us down. He has persevered so much and is still standing. Hands down...Chris is that dude!

You probably think thug right? So you pull your children in closer when we walk on the sidewalk. It doesn’t matter that I’m the king of a University or that I make good grades and am a generally good person. All you see is stereotypes of an Angry Black Man. You skip the fact that I low-key look like a nerd 🤓. I don’t get it but this is #AmeriKKKa

Does my versatility make me any less of a King? Can I still be a King with my hat backwards, a cut-out shirt, and sweats? Does this damage the image of a black man? Am I less of a man?

This weekend was definitely a testament to being on the RISE. Who would’ve thought that a little boy with so many insecurities, past hurts, self-esteem issues, suicidal thoughts, and so many more battles would be the KING of a university? Although the role of an HBCU King is not as respected as the role of the Queen, I am a part of the redefining of what being a king means and the RISE of the African American King! 👑

I like the way the child’s hands are in a sense begging the father to stay. It melts a mans heart to see his child. So many misconceptions. Thinking about a design similar to this to show the impact fathers have on their children, especially sons.

Yea...it's a myth! I like the design component of this design especially with the "outlined man" graphic.
