the sampaguita press writing retreat was something really special. I learned so many cool new things and being in community with poets always shows you how much further you can polish your pen.

wake up babes, new hurri-kitten update dropped!

hi besties!!! I wanted to share an update on how the kittens are doing :D for reference here are two previous updates I shared!

they're now drinking water and eating solid food, learning to use the litter box, and they respond really well to water (we had to bathe them because they got wet food in their fur!) and getting SO MUCH BIGGER!!!

we're doing our best to expose them to lots of new experiences every day and they are really confident and curious. They also, so far, enjoy car rides and settle well in their carrier!

I also wanted to share this wishlist I made for them !!

if you're not familiar with the platform, Throne is a privacy-safe wishlist platform popular with streamers n lots of folks on the internet, similar to Amazon wishlists, but neither of us see anyone's sensitive information. Throne is also really cool because I set every gift on the list to "crowdfund" which means you can pitch like, $1 towards a gift until it's fully paid for. (and if anyone would like a Throne invite DM me because I have one to give away!)

It has kitten food, toys, and a LOT of cat furniture, scratching posts, which is something we're going to be needing as they're living in our empty sunroom.

wake up babes hurri-kitten update

THEY ALL MADE IT OVER 200 GRAMS!!!

Last week, we rescued these newborn kittens from under a trailer just as the hurricane arrived, and a few hours later it started to flood by inches. It got really, really bad and ended up flooding several feet later on. Every animal was displaced (no birds, no geckos, no squirrels, no cats, NOTHING just wind and water). it's coming back to normal now, though!

Today, four out of five of these kitties have opened their eyes! We have "placeholder" names for them (because who can resist naming a kitten??) but since they haven't had a chance to show their personality yet, when they get older I'm gonna make a poll so folks can one in the hat to help name them!!!

Their first vet appointment is in November and they're going to be dewormed and neutered/spayed on schedule 💗💗💗

Thanks everyone so much for supporting us!!! last month, I had to pay $800 for my dog's emergency vet appointment as well as prescriptions she has to take every month now.

the kittens are warm, fed, safe, happy, loved, and getting bigger every day. I'm also really excited to share that a furever home has been secured for one of the kittens!!!

Help me help these kittens rescued during Hurricane Ian!

hi friends! this is Nashira, the moderator of @dear-fillintheblank. I hope you are well. I am not sure how many followers here are still active but I wanted to share this here in case anyone is still around!

On Thursday, November 29 we found five kittens as the hurricane arrived here. The lightning, thunder, and flooding was *really* bad and their mother had been scared off as well as every other cat/stray animal in the neighborhood.

I'm grateful to share that things are going back to normal now, and the kittens are doing well. They are taking kitten meal replacer, keeping warm, and getting bigger every day. I secured their first vet appointment and they will be dewormed on schedule as well as spayed/neutered when big enough.

I'm sharing this here because while I have other pets I'm taking care of -- the reason I have a credit card is because of them -- earlier this month, my dog had to be taken to the vet for a total of $800.

She was diagnosed with IVDD, arthritis, and osteoporosis. I'm really happy to share she's doing wonderful now and her issues are managed by medication!

Everything will be okay, but I really wasn't expecting these two things back to back. If anyone can help us out, I would greatly appreciate it 💗💗💗

I wrote a silly little poem to cope with the hurricane!

I’m really really trying not to fall into the “it could be worse, it’s not that big of a deal, I’ll live,” rabbithole because the truth is we won’t survive the decade if the climate + capitalism = keeps being like this but. yeah,

by the time you’re reading this, the flooding in my neighborhood should have all gone away enough to be able to drive but I would really appreciate some support as the city my PO box is in is completely flooded and so I can’t run my store.

I also rescued five kittens as the hurricane hit. They are doing well!

We will have to buy kitten meal replacer and kitten food to wean them in the coming months, as well as other supplies, and take them all to the vet as soon as they open. I haven’t been able to get through to the shelters or anyone because all the offices are closed here.

I rescued another cat in July who was underweight and had worms as well as a bladder infection, which was fine because I anticipated affording it, but we didn’t expect to rescue these five kittens. Please help me help them!

hi video game moots idk if anyone is around but uh,,, i feel like every 6 months i log i here and share some video game thoughts

so I played horizon forbidden west and it fucking BROKE MY HEART but not in the same way that deathloop did. I’d replay hfw but i would never replay deathloop. I’m really glad that I did that thing I do, where i 99% the game and leave the main quest for the very last, because honestly, after [REDACTED]’s death it was really too sad for me to run around the world.

I also re-played hue n it was really really sweet. the first time I played that game, I was in a bad way, so it like... it had brought back a lot of feelings from them but it was like I was able to really enjoy the game a lot more.

I also played pikuniku for the first time! I’d gotten it in some itch bundle. 10/10 v wholesome

I started playing new world last year, bc a few streamer communities I’m in were playing it, it was really fun but after getting to level 50 I just kinda like... lost that dopamine spark ig. i uninstalled it but i think about it still because i did make some really good friends on there D:

I downloaded lost ark n made a character but never played. I think there was a maintenence after I logged in for the first time, so i just never bothered. I don’t think the game is for me jdkjdk but my character is super cute

overall i’m just kind of in a state of limbo and have been since i finished hfw, like when i first got it i would play for hours n hours and i was so unraptured in it! then poetry month started n i’ve been wrapped up in that... i really wanna pick up a new RPG but idk djskjdsk
