All the remarks of the prototype changed in Cad-Cam patterns and fitted it on avatar with the body measurements of the real life model. Jacket closes nicely at centre front. And the back falls straight down instead of to the inside. Also I made the sleeves a little bit shorter because these were to long.

Length is good. Only need to adjust the shoulders. Now you see that the shoulder are little bit to short. I made the shoulders 2 cm longer on both sides.

The jacket falls inside at the back bottom. I changed the pattern of the centre back to one straight line instead of round at the top.

From the hip till bottom hem I need to make the pattern bigger. There is missing a lot of fabric and it doesn’t close nicely.

As you can see on the picture the armhole is to open. I have to make the strap where the tape comes on longer. So the sleeve will be more closed in the armhole.

And at the front the centre front doesn’t close nicely and stands open.

HM Is Sitting On $4.3 Billion Worth Of Unsold Stock

H&M is sitting on a pile of unsold clothes worth $4.3 billion. In a quarterly report released last Tuesday, the company revealed that its profits are the lowest they’ve been in 16 years. The 62% decline in sales means that the company has been unable to move stock, even after marking it down at clearance sales, leaving them with billions of dollars worth of deadstock (unsold stock).

This news leaves us with one big burning question: what the hell is H&M going to do with $4.3 billion worth of unsold clothes? The fast fashion retailer has been accused of destroying unwanted clothing rather than recycling it in the past. H&M countered these claims, saying that their clothing was actually being used as a fuel replacement in a Swedish power plant. Burning clothes to produce energy is obviously a lot better for the planet than destroying clothes outright, but it is still pretty concerning that H&M has enough excess stock to fuel a power plant in the first place. There is also always the possibility of unsold clothes ending up in landfill.

Sustainable dyeing innovations: Greener ways to color textiles

The textile industry is the second most polluting industry in the world. Synthetic dyes contribute to a major part of this pollution, with nearly 20 percent of global water pollution being linked to the textile dyeing processes. The main contributors to this problem are the use of  non-biodegradable petroleum-based colorants to dye textiles, the use of toxic agents to fix colorants on the textiles, and the release of large proportions of these colorants and fixation agents into the surrounding ecosystem.
