17. talk about your writing and editing process

oh this is going to be so embarrassing. I've been trying very very hard to be better about outlining before I start writing, HOWEVER, I do still like to give myself room to discover new paths while actually writing (which will often fuck up the outline). I will often edit while i write (which is why I think I have such a hard time finishing things), but once a chapter is finished I'll usually go through a couple of times to proof and make sure everything flows okay.

24. how do you recharge when you're not feeling creative

I love this question, because I'm currently in the midst of it. The first step is to get back into reading and watching other content. I find that when I'm creatively burnt out I haven't been reading or watching anything anything particularly fulfilling. And this is both fic and also non fic. I also try to either a) go out and socialize and do things if I've been pretty isolated OR b) stay in and recharge if I've been going going goin (it's the later for me right now).

I find prompts very very helpful and also listening to music when I'm ready to write but feeling uninspired. I particularly like writing to taylor swift, because it's so easy for me to take her songs and apply them to the marauders (duh, because she's misskingbean89).

I’ll see the Rockies and the deserts and cornfields and the Mississippi River and your house and yours and yours too. I’ll make up stories in my head about the small towns I see as we go along. I’ll see the states I’ve yet to see because driving or flying there is a fucking slog and expensive to boot. I’ll enjoy the ride as much as the destination. And then I’ll do it all over again to come the fuck home.

My wife (ao3) has gone to war (is down) and I don't know if she'll ever return home again (the wonderful people at ao3 are working diligently to bring it back up ASAP). I don't know if I'll ever recover (I'll be fine) but I'm being very brave about it (I am NOT being brave).

💞 Who's your comfort character?

This is such a cop out, seeing as I am a Jily writer but I have two. When I'm in my feels and I need to channel moodiness and angst, Lily Evans is my girl. When I need joy and to write positivity into the world, James Potter.

🎯 Have any of your readers accurately guessed major plot points? Care to share which?

There were some great guesses for who deuxmoi (which was a major plot point) was for some with arrows, some with traps! I think maybe one or two people guessed correctly.
