Isaiah had read a lot of emails in his life—contracts, offers, rejections, schedules—but none like this. As he sat there, eyes scanning every word with focused precision, his husband’s gaze weighed on him. Isaiah could feel Leo watching him, analyzing every twitch of his face, every breath. And for once, Isaiah didn’t offer the usual calm, collected response right away. His face was unreadable—not because he was hiding anything, but because he was overwhelmed. Inside, Isaiah’s heart was racing. He had read the words three times already just to be sure. Confirmed. Match found. Moving forward. Words that carried the weight of a thousand prayers. His eyes welled up, not from sadness but from the uncontainable mix of joy and disbelief.
“We have a surrogate. We’re going to be dads,” Isaiah repeated, almost in awe of his own words. “Me and you.” His thumb brushed across Leo’s knuckles, and he let out a soft, disbelieving laugh. “This is really happening.” When Leo looked up at him through his tears and called it the biggest honor of his life, Isaiah felt his heart tighten in the best way. “It’s ours, baby,” he said softly. “It doesn’t matter how—we made this happen together.” At Leo’s final question, Isaiah turned his eyes back to the screen, glancing over the details once more. “Yeah,” he said, voice steadier now. “The next step is a video call with the agency and the surrogate. It says it could be as soon as next week. Then contracts, screenings… everything starts moving quickly from here.” His eyes returned to Leo’s. “We’re really doing this. Our family is finally starting.”
Isaiah couldn’t stop smiling now, the kind of smile that aches in the best way. The tears in Leo’s eyes mirrored his own, and he felt the sheer force of everything they’d hoped for, everything they’d worked toward, rushing to the surface. Overcome, Isaiah gently brought his hands up to Leo’s face, cupping his cheeks with such care, as though holding something fragile and infinitely precious. Then, without hesitation, Isaiah leaned in and pressed his lips to Leo’s—slow, deep, and filled with every ounce of love in his body. He pulled back only to kiss him again, this time on the cheek, and then again just beside it. And again. And again. He kissed over Leo’s cheeks, his nose, his temples, his forehead, everywhere he could reach, giddy and overwhelmed and in awe of the moment. His breath caught on a laugh as he buried his face against Leo’s neck for a second before pulling back to look at him, his eyes glowing. “Ahh, I love you so fucking much."
Leo watched his husband carefully as he read the email. For some reason, Leo couldnt read him now, he wasnt sure if it was good or bad news from the look on Isaiahs face. It felt like an hour of reading tho Isaiah was a quick reader, a man of many talents, one of being good at sorting through what's not important in long texts. Something Leo was bad at, he read everything from a-z and he was kind of a slow reader as well.
He was shaking and holding his breath as his husband read the mail.. A tear? Leo noticed a tear and immediately connected that to bad news, but the longer he looked at the tears welling up in his husbands eyes...the more uncertain he got. Isaiah didnt look sad, his eyes didnt give him that feeling. Leo felt his husband's forehead touch his and leo bit his own lip. What did that letter really say? Then he heard his husband speak and he couldnt believe his ears " w-what?" he asked, had his husband said it was successful? that they had a surrogate? or were his ears fooling him?
Leo felt Isaiahs hold on to his hands, lacing their fingers and Leo couldnt help but smile, now sure that he had heard right as his husband spoke again. Leo noticed how isaiahs expression changed and how his whole body language changed, he wasnt as collected as usual, he was more raw, his emotions on his sleeve. He seemed happy and relieved and like he was on cloud nine, Leo felt the same way. This had to be the best day of their lives so far after their wedding day. Leo couldnt help but let the tears fall. This had been their dream and now they could move to the next step towards this dream of theirs. Soon, if things worked out, they would have a tiny little human, their little baby. Whose it was didnt matter to him, he just wanted a family with his husband. " wow" he replied, " i cant believe it" he then added, a hint of laughter and a lot of joy hidden in his voice. " yeah, its really happening and its happening fast. We are going to be dads Isaiah, me and you, we are going to be dads for real," he said as his voice broke and tears fell. It was hard to believe this was really happening. " i so agree baby, it will be the biggest honor of my life to raise your kid" he said looking him in the eyes trough the tears " does it say whats next? or when it will happen or anything?" Leo wondered, his forehead still against his husbands, eyes locked on Isaiahs.

Isaiah had always known Skylar had a big heart—but moments like this reminded him just how big. She felt things so deeply, carried other people’s happiness like it was her own, and somehow, she made space for everyone. It's a trait that he could sometimes have. When she smiled at him with teary eyes and called what he said “really sweet,” Isaiah felt a familiar warmth settle in his chest. He wasn’t used to people hearing him like that—really hearing him. He gave her a soft smile in return. “Well, it’s true,” he said gently. “You’ve got that storybook love now, you know?" When she reached for his hand after he mentioned his brother, Isaiah didn’t pull away. He let her hold it—let the quiet weight of her comfort settle between them. It wasn’t pity; it was something gentler. Something real. “Thank you,” he said quietly, looking down at their joined hands before glancing back up. “It’s been a long time since I talked about him like that." And when Skylar said “you deserve this kind of love,” Isaiah’s throat tightened. She said it so sincerely, so honestly, like she really meant it—not just the words, but the belief behind them. “I used to think maybe I didn’t,” he admitted. “That maybe people like me weren’t meant for that kind of forever. But then… Leo happened.” His voice was quiet, steady. “And the day I met him I knew that I wanted him." He watched as Skylar tried to laugh through her tears, pressing her hand to her lips like it could hold all the emotion back. “You don’t have to apologise,” Isaiah said, squeezing her hand. “Crying just means you’ve got a heart that works." Isaiah’s phone buzzed in his pocket, and he instinctively reached for it, still holding Skylar’s hand with his other. He glanced down at the screen, and the moment he read the message, a grin spread slowly across his face—warm, amused, and just the tiniest bit flustered. He let out a soft laugh under his breath and quickly typed out a response, thumbs flying across the screen. When he locked his phone and slipped it back into his pocket, he shook his head, smiling to himself like someone who’d just been caught in the middle of a private joke. “My husband’s flirting with me mid-shift through text,” he said, his tone equal parts exasperated and absolutely smitten. “Man’s supposed to be saving lives, and he’s out here sending heart emojis and telling me what he wants to do when he gets home.” He shook his head again, still smiling. “It’s honestly unfair how good he is at distracting me. Even through a screen. God, I love him so much."

skylar had always been like that—she loved sitting down to watch disney princess movies just for the romance. then she got older and started reading about it. now, somehow, she was actually living her dream love story with romeo. he had told her plenty of times that he hit the jackpot with her, but deep down, she knew she was the lucky one. romeo had pulled her out of a dark place. it wasn’t like her situation was worse than what he had been through at home, but her last relationship had left her so insecure, so convinced no one would ever love her the right way. and then romeo came along, and suddenly she knew—she could be loved. people could care. maybe one day she’d tell their kids the story of how she met their dad, how fast she fell for him. for now, though, she’d just listen to others talk about love. “aw, that’s really nice, no one’s ever said that to me. it’s honestly really sweet,” she said, a soft smile tugging at the corners of her lips. she loved isaiah—he had the kindest heart. talking to him always felt easy. she hadn’t planned on crying that day, but hearing him talk about leo like that made her tear up. she was so happy for her best friend. leo was lucky, really lucky, to have someone like isaiah. skylar cried about everything, and this was no exception. just the thought of being included in their family was overwhelming—it made her smile, made her heart ache in the best way. “you’re lucky to have each other,” she said softly. she knew how much isaiah had changed leo’s world. he was his person. and that made her happy, knowing leo had found that kind of love. but when isaiah mentioned his brother, skylar felt like all the air had been pulled from the room. she hadn’t known. “i’m so sorry about your brother,” she said quickly, reaching out to hold his hand. “leo’s like that. he really is the best,” she nodded. then isaiah said something that hit her hard again, and she had to fight the tears. “maybe he did,” she whispered. “i want to believe he did,” she added. “you deserve this kind of love, isaiah—the kind that makes you smile the way you do when you talk about leo. the kind that makes you dream about forever. you deserve nothing but the best.” she paused, laughing softly through her tears. “and i should probably stop with all these heavy words before i start crying again,” she chuckled, pressing her hand to her lips. “sorry, i’m a little too sensitive today.”

Isaiah leaned back in his chair, a glass of something half-finished in his hand, and watched Violet with a half-smile tugging at his lips. He’d always loved the way she talked—unguarded, funny, and full of this effortless mix of chaos and warmth. But tonight, there was a different kind of glow to her, a softness he didn’t see often. And it all started with one name. Reign. Isaiah raised an eyebrow as she talked—about how hot Reign was, how good he was with Ayiden, how he checked every damn box on her list. He didn’t interrupt, didn’t joke the way he usually would. Not right away. Because when she said 'I think he’s the one, Zaya,' with that careful, cautious hope in her voice, Isaiah felt it. Violet had been through it. If anyone deserved someone good, it was her. He smiled, setting down his drink, voice warm and teasing when he finally responded. “Damn, the one, huh?” He grinned, but his eyes softened. “I’m happy for you, Vi. Really. Just don’t let him mess that up, or I’ll break his hot, gentle little heart.” When the conversation swerved—as it always did with them—he snorted at her Leo comment. “Oh no, not you underestimating my man,” he said, pointing a finger at her like a mock warning. “Cute doesn’t mean boring. You have no idea, girl. He even surprises me.” By the time Violet was cracking up at the gear stick line, Isaiah was laughing right along with her, wiping a tear from the corner of his eye. “Hey, don’t blame me for the visual!” he said between chuckles. “I was just trying to drive. Leo had other plans. I'm not gonna complain if my husband wants to put his hands on me. Who am I to say no?" At the cuff confession, he gave her a look—eyebrows raised, a slow, knowing smirk spreading across his face. “Still got a few things left on the list, yeah,” he admitted with a wink. “And yes, Leo had the cuffs on me one time. I mostly take charge with the ideas though." When Violet made her stretch comment, Isaiah let out a deep, dramatic mmhmm, like he was the judge on a talent show. “Well damn,” he said, giving her an impressed nod. “Okay, mom-flex. But you better tell Reign to bring his A-game, or he’s gonna get humbled real quick.” He clinked his glass against hers, eyes gleaming. “Look at us—grown, sexy, still out here doing the most. I’m proud of us, Vi. Like, seriously—what are the odds? You and Reign, me and Leo… we both found the ones. And not just ‘someone decent to tolerate’—but like… actual, real ones. The good kind. The kind you didn’t think existed after all the crap we’ve been through.”His eyes sparkled with that mix of fondness and disbelief that came with knowing just how hard it had been to get here. “I love this for us. And I love bestie time,” Isaiah said, tapping her glass with his. “We should do this more often. Like, scheduled therapy with wine and way too much oversharing."

violet hadn't had much luck with her previous boyfriends, starting with ayiden’s dad and ending with austin. love hadn’t been kind to her—but somehow, reign felt like the best thing that had ever happened. he was nice, hot, gentle—who wouldn’t want someone like that? not to mention how good he was with kids, both his own and ayiden. there was just something about a man who was great with children that violet found undeniably attractive. "you can't judge a book by its cover but, reign's cover is so good—and the content too," she smiled, shaking her head playfully at her own words. "he checks all the boxes," she added with a soft smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "i don't want to say it too loud, but i think he's the one, zaya," she nodded, her voice full of cautious hope. as their conversation shifted, violet laughed—it was normal for them to bounce from topic to topic, and when it came to talking about sex, she and isaiah were an open book with each other. "oh, i’ve met you, but leo? he’s way too cute and adorable to have a spicy side," she joked. "i’m not complaining though, now i’m all in," she smirked, shrugging. when isaiah pointed his finger at her playfully, she raised her hands in mock defense. "damn it," she chuckled, knowing she wouldn’t actually tease leo, but the idea alone made her grin. "oh, is that a threat, king?" she teased, raising her eyebrows at him. as he started telling the story, violet rested her chin on her hand, pretending she was listening to something deeply important. "touching you while you drove? not the safest move for mr cop," she teased, then cracked up. "you were his gear stick? you kill me!" she laughed, shaking her head. "okay, now i won’t be able to look at leo like an angel again," she joked—even though she totally still would—but knowing they got worked up in a moving car? that was kind of hot. when isaiah admitted they’d used the cuffs, her eyebrows lifted. "do you two still have things left to try?" she smirked. "giving up control, huh? was leo the one using the cuffs on you?" she asked with a teasing glance. "stretch? oh, i’m pretty flexible even after having a kid," she added confidently. "can’t be that hard—i’m sure reign can take control of that."

Isaiah scanned the email with practiced efficiency, eyes flickering over paragraph after paragraph of formalities and well-structured pleasantries—three long blocks of polished nothing. Then the words that mattered struck him like lightning: Successful. His breath hitched. His heartbeat stumbled and then surged with a rhythm unfamiliar to him, heavy and urgent. They had been matched. A surrogate had agreed to carry their child. Their child. He couldn’t stop the tears from gathering in his eyes, couldn’t hide the tremble in his chest as he looked at his husband, Leo. The man he had chosen again and again, now staring back at him with hope mirrored in his gaze. His forehead gently pressed to Leo’s. One tear traced a slow, glistening path down his cheek as he whispered, voice unsteady but certain, “We’ve been successful. We have a surrogate we’ve been matched with.”
His fingers found Leo’s, trembling, lacing together like they’d done a thousand times before, but never like this. This was different. These were not the hands of men just in love—they were the hands of fathers-to-be. Happy tears blurred Isaiah’s vision as his mask slipped entirely. The cool, composed exterior he always wore gave way to the raw, radiant truth of a dream blooming into life. “Fuck,” he said on an exhale, laughter and tears tangled in his voice, “we’re gonna be dads for real, huh? It all got so real so fast.” He gripped Leo’s hand tighter, grounding himself in the moment. “I couldn’t think of a greater honor in my life than to raise your children.”
Leo watched as his husband slowly, for what felt like hours, woke up and gathered what was going on. Leo didnt have too many words at the moment, he was kind of frozen with fear and hope and joy and so many other emotions. Listening to his husbands rough morning voice was something Leo loved, he found is so hot.
The fear was not hiding in Leos eyes, it was clear as day. Leo was terrified. As soon as Isaiahs eyes caught his, leo didnt look away. Leo found so much comfort in looking in his husband eyes. " i havnt looked" leo confirmes. Voice shakey, eyes locked on Isaiahs. Leo followed his husbands lead and sat by him eyes still not leaving isaiahs face. Leo was relieved once he felt his husband take his phone and he rested his hand on top of isaiahs who had his on his leg. It felt comforting, in a way told him that no matter what was in the email, they would be okay. " together, always" leo confirmed and took a deep breath " what does it say?" He asked assuming his husband had opened it, leos eyes still locked on his face.

Isaiah stirred slowly at first, the world dragging him back from the thick fog of sleep. He felt the familiar weight of Leo curling up against him, the tremble in his husband’s body something he couldn’t ignore even in half-consciousness. The urgency in Leo’s voice pulled him faster into awareness. “Mmm—baby?” Isaiah blinked his eyes open, voice rough with sleep. He instantly turned towards him. The bedside clock glowed faintly—just past eight. Too early for this tone. Leo’s whisper wasn’t just a nudge; it was full of nerves, panic coiled beneath each syllable. “What’s wrong?”
His eyes adjusted, and now he could see it—Leo’s expression, barely holding together, his lip caught between his teeth, eyes wide and glassy. Isaiah’s heart beat once, hard. He sat up halfway, hand moving to cradle the back of Leo’s neck, thumb brushing gently just below the hairline. “Is everything alright? Are you okay?"
His gaze shifted down to Leo's phone. That’s when Isaiah saw the subject line on the email. His heart gave a small jolt. “Oh…” Isaiah exhaled, slowly, eyes flicking to Leo’s. He didn’t need to ask why Leo hadn’t opened it. He felt the same weight pressing in now. “You haven’t looked yet.” Isaiah sat up fully now, back against the headboard, gently coaxing Leo up beside him. He took the phone carefully, not rushing. His other hand stayed firmly on Leo’s leg, grounding him. “Okay,” he said, voice soft but firm. “We’re doing it together. Just like we said.” With that, he opened the email. The moment of truth. Time to find out if they had a match or not.
Baby time? - Isaiah and Leo
Leo had been a big ball of nerves since their last appointment with their fertility doctor. They had narrowd it down to 3 possible women to hopefully carry their child if everything went according to plan. Leo prayed that one of them. Their doctor had reached out to the women and now they just needed to hear from their doctor and see if they were a match, if they were willing to do this still. Leo had not slept much lately, at all. Waiting for the email from their doctor was killing him.
Lately Leo had not taken many shifts at the fire department; he was still desk-bound and he hated it so much. However, he had not been cleared for duty and it was making Leo slowly lose interest in showing up at all. This morning Leo had called in sick after another sleepless night. At 6 am he had gone out for a run, at 7 am he had decided it was time to turn around and head back home. right before 8, leo stood outside his and Isaiahs house planning on sneaking in and back to bed to cuddle his husband while he slept, his husband who had come in late last night after a long shift and passed out by Leos side.
Leo opened the door too their house as he looked at his e-mail. There it was, an email from their doctor, cc-ed to Isaiah. Leo could feel his heart skip a beat. he didn't dare open it, he was too scared and worried and he needed to open it with Isaiah too, they were in this together. Leo slowly made his way to their bedroom and crawled up in bed cuddling up to Isaiah " Baby, baby wake up, you need to wake up right now" he whispered, trying to stay calm but he was shaking bed, so was his voice. " Isaiah" he bit his lip

Isaiah leaned back with a knowing grin, his eyes lighting up in that mischievous way that always meant trouble. He was the kind of person who wore loyalty like a shield and wasn’t afraid to tease, but when it came down to it, he’d always have Violet’s back, no matter what. When she mentioned Ayiden’s dad and how looks didn’t make a good person, he just nodded, letting her words hang in the air for a moment. “Yeah, looks can be deceiving, but with Reign? Sounds like you found someone who checks all the boxes,” he said, his voice softening just a little, as if to show he respected what she had with him. "Maybe you’ve found the one," he repeated, his tone light, but there was warmth there. "I can see it. You’re happy. And that’s what matters. I just want you to have someone who makes you feel like you can breathe, you know?" As she laughed softly and accepted his teasing for now, he let his smirk return. But when the conversation took an unexpected turn and Violet mentioned being safe, Isaiah’s grin faltered for a second, but he recovered quickly, keeping his eyes locked on hers. “Okay, okay, I see how it is,” he said with mock exasperation, his voice still teasing. “I just know you’ve got a lot of good reasons for your choices. Sometimes raw can be fun though, just saying. I just can't get my boyfriend pregnant from it though." He dragged a hand down his face, half in mock exasperation, half because he was genuinely trying not to lose it. “You act like this is shocking,” he said, grinning. “Have you met us?” The moment she mentioned the “premium best friend pack,” Isaiah shook his head, already laughing again. “Hey, you subscribed—don’t complain about the content.” But then she hit him with the Leo comment, and Isaiah straight-up cackled, pointing a finger at her like she was too much. “You absolutely cannot tease him—” He shot her a look, eyes playful but knowing. “But seriously, if you say one word to him, just know… I will retaliate. And I’m pettier than you think." Isaiah grinned, his voice dropping to a teasing tone as he leaned in slightly. "Just know that he was being hands-on while I was driving, if you catch my drift," he said, giving her a sly wink. "He wanted me to swap with somebody, so that gas station stop really came in handy. I was his gear stick." Isaiah couldn’t help the smirk that spread across his face as the conversation took an unexpected turn. His eyes twinkled with mischief, knowing exactly what kind of reaction he was about to get. "And yeah," he said casually, as if it was no big deal, "we've used handcuffs in the bedroom too." He leaned back with a grin, watching Violet’s reaction, clearly amused by how this conversation was unfolding. Isaiah laughed, shaking his head. “Honestly, it was kinda hot. There’s something about giving up control for a minute on either side that just… hits different, you know?” Then, with a wink: “Ten outta ten. Would recommend. Just make sure you stretch first.”
Tumblr media
there was something in the way they talked that made violet know, without a doubt, that no matter what happened, isaiah would always be there for her. they shared a sad past, but the future—they were going to make it bright, she believed that with everything in her. they were going to grow and face life together, and she didn’t even have to think about it to know it was true. “i mean, i do have a good eye, ayiden’s dad was hot too, but that doesn’t mean he was a good person,” she pointed out. “but yeah, reign isn’t just hot, he’s sweet and loving,” she added, and that was more important than anything else. reign wasn’t anything like her ex, and that alone was the biggest green flag she could think of. when isaiah teased her, her cheeks flushed a warm red. “maybe i’ve found the one,” she admitted, “he really makes me happy.” and it was true—she smiled more, she laughed, and she saw her son light up around reign. she could only hope it stayed like that forever. “i’ll agree with you, but honestly i haven’t even finished that show,” she chuckled, “but if that’s how those types work, then amazing,” she grinned. “ugh, i should’ve thought about bringing cake or flowers to celebrate,” she snapped her fingers in mock regret. “but yeah, there’s no rush to marry anyone,” she added with a shake of her head. “those guys were assholes, but you’re right—reign was worth the wait.” when isaiah spoke, his eyes twinkled in that way that told violet he was storing secrets like ammo, just waiting for the perfect moment to tease reign. “okay, i’ll accept that for now because i need to tell someone,” she said, laughing softly. when he said that, her mouth dropped open. “okay, i wasn’t going to let him go in raw—we were safe,” she laughed, her voice light, “and it was great.” her grin widened when he admitted to something unexpected. “you fucked in a public place? isaiah! that’s kinkier than i expected!” she laughed, nearly breathless. “wow, you two are a pair of horny men,” she teased, shaking her head. “and then you went back all happy… that’s why?! shocking,” she grinned. “oh wow, now i’m getting positions and preferences too? this must be the premium best friend pack,” she teased again, and then, with a mischievous smirk, added, “sweet leo has a spicy side… can i tease him about it?”

Isaiah listened to Skylar with a quiet smile, his heart full. Hearing how much she adored love stories—how she clung to every little detail of her grandparents' tale, how she asked Leo over and over again to retell his own—it touched something deep in him. He could see the light in her eyes when she spoke of Romeo, and it reminded him of the way he looked at Leo, the way his own chest still tightened in the best way every time he remembered their wedding. Isaiah’s chest ached in the warmest way. He believed she would have a lovely wedding too. The way she talked about Romeo made it obvious—they were already the real thing. “You will,” he wanted to tell her. “You're made for that kind of love.” As she dabbed at her tears with a scrap of tissue overwhelmed by his words, Isaiah felt a deep tenderness for her. He hadn’t meant to make her cry, but he was glad his love could move someone like that. Skylar had always been soft-hearted, always felt deeply, and that was something he admired in her. Her compliments made him pause. The way she spoke about his heart, about Leo’s beauty inside and out, about the love they shared—it wasn’t just sweet, it was sincere. That kind of validation meant the world. Isaiah never wanted to take his love for granted, and hearing someone like Skylar recognise its depth reminded him just how special it all was. And as she spoke about his future children—saying they’d be beautiful no matter who they took after—he pictured it. Leo holding their baby, the house full of laughter and storytime and bedtime hugs. And Skylar there too, visiting, maybe with a little one of her own someday. He didn’t say it out loud, but in that moment, Isaiah felt grateful. Grateful for love. For Leo. For the future. And for Skylar, who always knew just how to make someone's story feel heard. Isaiah’s voice was soft when he spoke, the kind of soft that carried the weight of something real. “I am lucky to have him,” he said, and he meant every word. He wasn’t the kind of person to take love for granted, not after everything he’d been through. “I’m lucky to have someone that cares about me so much. I had a huge hole in my heart when Gabriel, my brother, died,” he admitted. It was the kind of pain that never fully went away. It just... changed shape over time. “Leo’s helped to start sealing the gap that he left.” Isaiah didn’t need to say more. The silence that followed was full of everything he couldn’t put into words—love, loss, the ache of memory, and the peace of finally finding someone who helped him breathe through it all. “It’s a different kind of love,” he said gently, his voice carrying that soft reverence that always showed up when he talked about Gabriel. “But I know my brother would've picked him out and put him in my sights.” There was a faint smile on his face, touched with both grief and gratitude. He could almost hear Gabriel teasing him, nudging him forward. “He knew I could use a boyfriend that loves deeply and with his whole heart,” Isaiah continued, nodding slowly like he was affirming something sacred. Leo’s love wasn’t just present—it was intentional, overwhelming in the best ways, and healing in the ways Isaiah hadn’t even realised he still needed.
Tumblr media
hearing people talk about their weddings was something sky loved. skylar loved hearing other people's love stories the same way she loved reading them. she had heard the story of her grandparents meeting a million times and still adored listening to her grandma tell it. hearing isaiah talk about how that was the best night of his life made her smile. as he told her how he got to marry the man of his dreams, it made sky’s eyes water for a second—maybe she was too sensitive, but hearing that made her heart swell. "i hope i get to experience that too," she smiled. skylar and romeo were meant to be, they both knew it—she could never love anyone the way she loved her boyfriend. it was impossible. she knew that someday she’d be the one walking down the aisle, but for now, all she could do was dream. "oh, i've heard about that story a million times," she said softly, "leo has told me a lot of times and i keep asking him to tell me again, i love it," she nodded, being completely honest with the guy. as isaiah told her how he couldn’t wait to introduce his kids to her, the blonde couldn’t help smiling. "oh, stop that, i'm going to cry," she said, her eyes tearing up again. "that's the sweetest thing anyone’s ever said to me, thanks isaiah," she murmured, grabbing a tiny piece of paper to dab at the tear. hearing how excited he was about his future with leo made her even more excited—she couldn’t wait to meet his kids. "i love the way you talk about leo, i really do, always so sweet and thoughtful," she nodded. "those kids will be pretty no matter if they look like you or leo," she said softly. "i also love the way you talk about being in love with him—you have the kindest heart, isaiah," she added. "leo’s beautiful on the outside, and he’s got a beautiful soul too," she nodded again. "you’re lucky to have each other."

Isaiah watched Skylar’s smile as she spoke, her warmth and kindness shining through even in the smallest gestures. He admired how much she cared about others, how she always put people before herself. It wasn’t just something she did—it was who she was. He couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of respect for her, knowing how much love and care she poured into everything she did. She was his husband's best friend and he couldn't have wanted anyone better to be on Leo's side. When she mentioned ordering pizza not feeling the same, he could see the conviction in her eyes. “I get it,” he said softly, his voice filled with understanding. “It’s the little things that make the difference, right?” He nodded, a smile forming on his lips. “It’s not about what you do, it’s about how you do it, Sky. You’ve always found a way to make people feel like they belong, like they matter.” As Skylar teased him about his wedding, Isaiah couldn’t help but smile wider. She had this way of bringing lightness into the room, making everything feel warmer. “You’re right,” he replied, his voice playful yet filled with affection. “It really was one of the best nights of my life. I got to marry the man of my dreams. Couldn’t have asked for anything better.” Her words about love made his heart swell. Listening to her talk, he could see how deeply she believed in the idea of soulmates, how much she valued the connections people had with one another. “I agree,” he said, his voice soft. “Sometimes it’s all about timing, isn’t it? I remember falling in love with Leo the first time I saw him. He took my number but then he made me keep working to get his attention. I remember telling my co-worker that I wanted him." When Skylar’s eyes lit up at the mention of them starting a family, Isaiah felt his own excitement rise. The enthusiasm in her voice was contagious, and he couldn’t help but grin. “Yeah,” he said, his voice filled with pride and joy. “We’re really excited. It feels like the next chapter is finally starting.” Her gentle squeeze of his hands made him feel all the more grateful for the support she was offering. He could see how much she cared, and it made him appreciate their friendship even more. “I can’t wait to introduce them to you in the future, Sky,” he said, his eyes warm with appreciation. “If there’s anyone I want around my future kids, it’s definitely you.” Isaiah chuckled softly, his eyes lighting up as he thought about the future. He was genuinely thrilled about starting a family with his husband, but there was a quiet wish, a secret hope that lingered in his heart. He looked at Skylar, a small smile tugging at his lips as he spoke. "You know," Isaiah began, his tone thoughtful, "I secretly hope our baby looks like Leo. I really do." He paused, his expression softening as he let the words sink in. "I want him to see his beauty reflected in someone else. I want him to look at that tiny person and fall in love with them, just like I did with him." His voice caught a little, filled with so much affection that it almost seemed to spill over. "Leo’s the most beautiful human in the world to me."
Tumblr media
skylar had always cared about others more than she cared about herself. she didn’t think about her own well-being as long as everyone else was happy. maybe that was why, after she could no longer dance, she decided to study nursing. and even though that didn’t work out, she still found her own way to take care of people. maybe coffee and books weren’t the things people needed most when going through hard times, but she was there to serve them with a smile and make them feel at home for as long as they stayed in her café. she was happy to help people. it wasn’t as important as isaiah’s work, but in her own way, it still mattered. "thanks," she smiled. "i just want to show you how much i care," she added. "ordering pizza doesn’t feel the same." skylar wasn’t going to change her mind about that. she was going to be there for leo and his husband—she loved that couple and would do anything for them. seeing how isaiah smiled at the mention of his wedding made her feel all warm inside. "you better not," she teased. "it was probably one of the best nights ever." listening to isaiah talk about the wedding had skylar leaning against the counter, her chin resting on the palm of her hand. she loved hearing about love stories—she loved reading about them, but hearing them firsthand from someone as special as isaiah? that was even better. "it was meant to happen," she nodded. "i really believe everyone has their soulmate out there… you just have to be lucky enough to find them at the right time." a soft smile played on her lips. when isaiah mentioned starting a family, skylar immediately straightened up. "no way," she gasped, excitement sparking in her eyes. "oh my god, that’s amazing!" she grinned. "first odette, and now you two?" she beamed, reaching for his hands and giving them a gentle squeeze. "oh, i’m so excited for you! if there’s one thing i love more than weddings, it’s babies," she assured him. "god, i can’t wait to meet them already." she already knew that after work, she’d be rushing home to tell romeo.

Isaiah grinned, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he listened to Violet, the warmth of their shared history wrapping around him like a familiar blanket. She was right—they had a good crew, even if it was bittersweet to think about their brothers. They’d been through so much together, and the weight of their past only made the bond between them stronger. He knew that no matter what came next, nothing could change that connection. He watched her carefully as she spoke, the light in her eyes making him smile even more. “You’ve got a good eye, he's hot” he said, teasing, but there was a tenderness to his voice. “If he’s got all that going for him, then maybe you’ve finally found the one, huh?” Isaiah raised an eyebrow, an affectionate smirk tugging at his lips. "You deserve it. You’ve been through enough to know what you want. If he makes you happy, then that’s all that matters." When Violet joked about being Batman and Robin, he couldn’t help but laugh, shaking his head. “Nah, we’re definitely more like Winter Soldier and Falcon,” he agreed with a grin, “two badasses who have each other’s backs, no questions asked. No need for sidekicks when we’re both in this together.” But when she mentioned his willingness to step up as an uncle, he felt a soft warmth spread in his chest. He’d always been ready to be there for his family, for Violet, for Leo, and for anyone else who needed him. It was just who he was. “Yeah, three years," he mused, a small chuckle escaping his lips. "It’s been a hell of a ride, but not as crazy as your dating life, huh?" He winked, enjoying the playful back and forth they always had. “Hey, you got there eventually. Better late than never, right? You dated a couple of assholes and ended up with someone better than the other two combined." He nodded when she offered to share her secrets, though the twinkle in his eye showed he was already planning how much fun he’d have with whatever juicy details she gave him. "I swear, I’m a vault. Nothing's getting out of me," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "But sure, I’ll keep it to myself, no roasting Reign... for now," he added, clearly unable to resist a little teasing. Isaiah chuckled at her story, shaking his head in mock disbelief. “You almost let him go in raw the first time?” He leaned back, arms crossed, clearly amused. His eyes wide as a laugh escaped from him. "But hey, as long as you were safe, I’ll take the sweet part as a win. And yeah, let’s call it good - too much straightness for my brain to handle if you go in any more detail." For all the jokes and teasing, there was something undeniably comforting about these moments—about knowing that, no matter what, they’d always have each other’s backs. "Okay, no telling my husband I told you this , but do you remember when all of us went on that friends trip in that van? We fucked in one of the public bathroom stalls at a gas station. I'm the top, mostly, but let me tell you my husband can be just as horny. He was flirting with me the whole time I was driving."
Tumblr media
isaiah and leo had always been close, nothing was going to change that. he had been there when they lost their brothers, when she gave birth to ayden, and she had been there for him when he got married. that list of shared moments would only keep growing over time. they weren't just friends; they were platonic soulmates, tied together by an invisible string. "we have a good crew," she nodded, a warm smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she saw the way nostalgia settled on her best friend. it was sad to think about how both of their brothers were gone. the thought of it could take the light from violet's happiness. "you're nosy and invested, let me correct you," she joked, shaking her head at his playful wink. "he's nice and hot, what else could i ask for?" she laughed, a smile spreading across her face. reign was the safe option, the nice guy who made her happy. maybe her past relationships hadn't been the best, but maybe, just maybe, she had found the person she wanted to spend her life with. "you're the sidekick? so, we're batman and robin?" she chuckled. "what’s the marvel version of that? i think we’re more like winter soldier and falcon—both heroes who work together," she smiled, "without hating each other," she added with a laugh. promising to always be there for each other didn’t need words; they both knew they'd always have each other’s back. but hearing isaiah's willingness to step up and take on his uncle duties so fast warmed her heart. "it's been how long… three years?" she laughed. "it's not like you and leo, though. you two are lucky. i had to meet three assholes before i found a nice one," she joked. "okay, if we both exchange details, fine, i’ll share my secrets," she nodded, "just make sure not to tell anyone at the office and don’t make fun of him. i’d feel bad for reign," she teased, knowing isaiah would probably roast the other cop once he knew the details. "okay, so... it was like having my first time all over again. he was so sweet," she mused. "and i was lucky he had protection, because the ones i had were expired," she laughed. "more details, or does it work like this?"

Isaiah hovered quietly over the other for a few seconds, his eyes softened with admiration as he looked down at his husband. The sight of him—the way his smile lit up the room, the quiet strength that emanated from him even in the smallest gestures—never failed to leave Isaiah in awe. He couldn’t help but marvel at how far his husband had come, how much he had grown and achieved. The journey had not been easy, yet here he was, lying there tall and proud, a testament to resilience and heart. Isaiah felt an overwhelming sense of pride in every step his husband had taken, every challenge he had overcome, and the love that had fueled it all. He was in awe of the person his husband had become—brave, kind, unwavering in his convictions. To Isaiah, there was no greater privilege than standing beside him, knowing the incredible strength and beauty of the man he had married.
Leo’s voice was low, almost trembling, as he finally let the words slip past his lips. It wasn’t just the words themselves, but the confidence behind them that hit Isaiah like a wave. Leo had previously struggled to express his desires so openly—his past, filled with pain and silence, had made such expressions feel impossible for so long. But now, here he was, staring at Isaiah with those eyes, raw and sincere, the weight of his past trauma making this simple confession one of the most courageous things he could offer to Isaiah at the moment.
Isaiah felt his heart swell with love and appreciation. To be wanted like this, to feel seen in a way that made all the broken pieces of Leo’s history fall into place and still be worthy of such affection from him —it was a gift, one Isaiah would never take for granted. Isaiah’s chest tightened with pride and desire, knowing that in this moment, Leo was giving him more than just his body—he was offering trust, opening up in ways that he knew lined up to Isaiah's form of love language. Touch and quality time.
Isaiah had always been good with words, effortlessly weaving them together to comfort, to encourage, to make others feel seen and heard. It was his gift, his way of making connections, and it worked—people understood him, felt his care, because he knew exactly what to say at the right time. But with Leo, Isaiah often found himself relying less on his verbal skills and more on the quiet language of touch. His love language was touch and quality time, the warmth of a hand resting on Leo’s back, the brush of their fingers when they passed by each other, the simple act of being close. At work, Isaiah thrived on order and precision, where everything had its place and everything had to be perfect. It was a world of constant control, a tightrope of expectations and responsibilities. But with Leo, things were different. Leo was his anchor, his calm in the storm. In their quiet moments together, Isaiah could let go of the pressure to be flawless, to hold everything together. With Leo, he didn’t have to say a word sometimes to express how deeply he loved him. The simple act of loving him was enough to speak volumes.
Isaiah’s leaned forwards getting himself into position with his husband's permission, his breath warm and steady. "I love you, Leo" he whispered, his voice quiet, vulnerable, but filled with certainty. The words felt like home.
They moved together slowly and in sync, a dance as old as time itself, each gesture, each touch, an unspoken promise. As their lips met, again and again - it wasn’t about passion—it was about trust, about comfort, about the shared understanding that this moment, this connection, was enough. There was no need for perfection here. Only love. The world outside faded completely as their embrace deepened, the soft brush of lips and the gentle touch of hands the only things that existed. Skin hitting skin. The rest of the night was theirs—quiet, intimate, and full of a love that needed no words, no grand gestures, just the simple beauty of being together.
With a flirty grin, and after they were finished, he collapsed against Leo’s chest with a light thud, letting himself fall into the warmth of his husband’s embrace. As he landed, he planted a soft kiss on Leo’s chest, his lips lingering for a second before he pulled back, eyes glinting with a teasing apology. “Sorry, was that too much?” Isaiah murmured, planting another kiss, this one more gentle, as if to make up for the playful tumble.
He looked up at Leo, his heart swelling as he took in the quiet strength of the man he had fallen in love with. His husband, the love of his life, whose presence felt like home in a way Isaiah had never known before. He smiled softly, a rare vulnerability in his words as he spoke from his heart. “You know, I used to think I had everything figured out,” Isaiah said, his fingers lightly tracing patterns across Leo’s chest. “But then I found you. And now… now all I want is everything. With you. Every day, every moment, all of it.” He paused for a moment, taking a breath as his gaze softened, a look of deep affection filling his eyes. “You’re not just the love of my life, Leo. You’re my future, my forever. Everything I’ve ever dreamed of is right here, with you.”
Tumblr media
Leos feelings often confused him, Leo didnt get why he felt the way he did a lot of the time. Sure he knew the root cause, so did Isaiah. However, Leo didn't get why he couldn't just be over and done with that all now that his father was behind bars. Why was everything so scary and hard still? Leo had Isaiah, his husband, who would move mountains for him if he only asked for it, yet Leo was sitting here second-guessing and scared of life. Leo didn't want to be, he just wanted to live a happy life with his husband and hopefully kids soon too.
Tears were starting to fall and then he heard his husbands words. Isaiah was always so calm, so cool and collected. He had this soothing effect on Leo without even trying. Just the way Isaiah said his name brought him comfort and he wiped his eyes " Im not alone, we are in this together" Leo repeated after him, the faintest of smiles appearing back on his face.
Leo looked his husband in the eyes as he spoke, it was true, raising a kid, or kids was a two-person thing, at least in their case. It was something Leo longed for, to have a family with Isaiah, and even tho he knew Isaiah would always be there, to share everything, the good, the bad, the hard thing, It was good to hear it and be reassured. " yeah, we can do it together. "Feeling his hands on his face felt good, it grounded him. Isiahs words earned him a giggle " you do have blue lights, I remember," he said and bit his lip. Thinking about it, about Isaiahs words, Leo was at ease, realizing again what he deep down knew. This was what they wanted, this was what they longed for and together it would be alright. They could do it together.
Feeling Isaiah's forehead against his and listening to his words got Leo smiling big " in this together, forever and always" he bit his lip and looked his husband in the eyes with so much love.
Leos mind was at all the escapes they had done at the fire station, all the fun and all the romance they had shared there. Leo wasn't as much for doing anything at the police station, but they sure had. " we don't do that at work, no baby, never" he said with a smirk on his face as he bit his bottom lip softly.
" yeah you better remember" Leo told his husband, humor and a hint of laughter in his voice. Leo fund his husbands whispers so hot and the glimpse in his eyes, he really was driving Leo insane. " yeah no, please don't, the fire station has so many good spots, and I still haven't shown you all, I found a new one I think you will love" he said with the smallest smirk. Leo really loved how no matter what, Isaiah always showed him warmth and affection, no matter what they were talking about or doing. It was a constant reminder that Leo needed and cherished.
With Isaiah, Leo felt safe, he felt loved, he felt like nothing in the world mattered except them two, what they had and what they made out of their lives. Leo knew that no matter what would happen in life, Isaiah would always be there, to catch him if he fell, to laugh with him, to grow together. Thats what life was all about in leos eyes. He also knew that when Leo started putting up walls, pushing his love away thinking he was protecting Isaiah when he was only isolating himself, Isaiah wouldnt let him, he would bring those walls strait down and pull him into a warm hug or kiss reminding Leo that they were in this thing called life, together.
Leo kissed back as he felt his husbands lips, however as isaiah pulled away the slightest, Leo lifted his head a little as to follow and continue the kiss. Once Isaiah whispered tho, leo maintained the slightest space between them to hear his words " ours" Leo then repeated, like a promise right back to Isaiah. Leo knew he could trust and believe his husbands words, they were true, it was a fact.
Leo took a deep breath of satisfaction as he felt Isaiah working on making Leo comfortable on the couch. Leo couldnt help but smile as he adjusted himself in the process. If there was one thing Leo could always count on, it was Isaiah always making sure Leo felt comfortable and safe with him, no matter what, and Leo loved that about Isaiah. Leo looked his husband up and down as he hovered over him, then his eyes met Isaiahs and he could not help the smile. The look on his husbands face was priceless, the love coated with playfulness, he always felt like a teenager in his husbands presence and he loved it.
" all ours"he repeated as if he was high, high on love. Leos hands moved round Isaiahs back as he listened to his husbands words and all they carried. Leo didnt take his eyes off of his husband for a second. Everything he said, the way he spoke, his movements and what they carried, it all told Leo so much more than words could say. The love Leo felt through his actions, through the tone of his words, through his look, it was everything to Leo.
The man let out a long satisfied breath as he felt Isaiahs warm, familiar hands squeeze his ass in to position. Leo knew what this indicted, he knew what came next and his body did too, feeling his husbands hands on his ass always made Leo so comfortable, so relaxed which also made Isaiahs next mission way more easy. Every single muscle was ready for what was to come, relaxed to let him in. " baby its all yours, please take it, please dont make me wait any longer" leo begged of his husband " you always take so good care, the best. I want you babe, oh how my ass wants you." he whispered, Leos hands finding their way down Isaiahs back and too his ass, as he squeezed it he softly pushed, hinting to his husband that he could not wait a second longer. He was relaxed and more than ready to receive, tho at the same time, he was so hard. The urge he had for his husband, it amazed Leo how their sex life still was so active after all this time together, that the spark, the excitement, the need, it didnt fade like a lot of people said it would. Leo had never felt that between him and his husband, it felt as if they were in an endless honeymoon state according to the stories he had heard.

Isaiah watched Skylar with a sense of appreciation, feeling a warmth in his chest as she spoke. She had this way of making everyone around her feel valued, whether it was through her actions or the way she spoke. Her love was a tangible thing, expressed not just in words but in the way she touched and cared for the people in her life. It wasn’t something he took lightly. When she offered to make pizza, his initial reaction was to protest, but then he saw the determination in her eyes. "Alright, I won’t argue," he said with a small smile, knowing that once Skylar made up her mind, it was pretty much set in stone. Skylar was a natural giver—whether it was food or affection, she never hesitated to show her love. And while Isaiah didn’t always know how to respond to the compliments she gave, he appreciated them more than she probably realised. Her words about Leo made him pause. He knew she respected Leo in a way that was rare, and it wasn’t just about the trauma he had survived—it was about the strength it took to rise above it. Isaiah had no doubt that Skylar saw the goodness in him. When she came back from delivering the order, he couldn’t help but feel a little lighter. Her smile had a way of brightening the room, and when she asked about his wedding, it was impossible not to share in the joy of that moment. The memory still felt fresh, a snapshot of pure happiness. “We’ll never forget it either,” he agreed, his voice carrying that same fondness that was always there when he thought about the wedding. The playful comment he made about the night caught Skylar off guard, and he couldn’t help but laugh at her reaction—her cheeks turning that soft shade of pink only made her more endearing."Yeah, he was proud, I made an honest man out of him that night" Isaiah said with a nostalgic smile, his voice softening as he thought about Leo’s pride that night. "It felt... right. Like it was always meant to happen." As she moved away to grab something, Isaiah leaned back slightly, feeling the warmth of the moment. “Well, actually,” Isaiah started, his tone shifting a bit as he looked over at Skylar, “Leo and I have been talking a lot about starting a family. It’s definitely high up on the list of things to do right now.” He smiled softly, the excitement in his voice barely contained. “We’ve been looking into baby options, trying to figure out what would be best for us, and honestly, it’s been both a little overwhelming and really exciting at the same time. It’s something we’re both really looking forward to.”
Tumblr media
skylar was the kind of person who always made sure the people in her life knew how much she appreciated and loved them. she didn’t just say it—she showed it. when it came to romeo, her love was mostly expressed through physical touch—holding his hand, sitting on top of him, wrapping her arms around him, kissing him, or preparing things he liked. her friends were no exception. while the physical affection remained—because skylar loved hugging them—cooking for them was another way she showed her love. "i'll make pizza then," she smiled. "i can do it, you don’t have to worry," she promised. skylar wasn’t great at receiving compliments, but giving them? she was the queen. at isaiah’s reaction to her words, she smiled. "you’re more than welcome," she nodded. "leo is amazing—he’s the best—but so are you. you don’t have to worry about that," she assured him. "i’m sure you’re living up to everything leo gives out, i know you are," she added with a smile. leo’s life had been tough—traumatic, even. she wasn’t sure she could have been as strong as him if she had gone through everything he did. but she was glad he was healing. leo deserved nothing less. when she returned after delivering his coworker’s order, skylar couldn’t help but want to keep talking to isaiah. seeing his face light up as he talked about his wedding made her smile—that was love. "we’ll never forget it," she promised. she knew she wouldn’t—she was always looking at the pictures from that night. but at isaiah’s playful words, her eyes widened, her cheeks burning a soft shade of red. she hadn’t expected that comment. trying to brush it off, she let out a soft chuckle. "he was so proud that night—you both looked really proud," she nodded. "i love weddings," she grinned before stepping away for a second to grab something to do while they talked. she was the boss here, but she still felt bad standing around chatting while her coworkers were busy. "any plans to celebrate it?" she asked.

Isaiah couldn’t help but smile at Violet’s words, her playful tone always managing to brighten his day. They’d been through so much together—shared memories, laughter, and even moments of heartache. She was more than a friend to him; she was family, and that bond meant everything. He couldn’t imagine his life without her in it, just as she couldn’t imagine hers without him. Their connection was built on trust and support, and it was something that would never waver. As Violet mentioned telling Reign how she felt, Isaiah nodded thoughtfully. He had always known her so well, and seeing her struggle with her feelings made him wish he could just wave a magic wand and make everything easier for her. But maybe this was the step she needed to take, to finally speak her truth. “Maybe you do,” he said gently, his voice warm with encouragement. He couldn’t help but chuckle softly at her teasing. When Violet spoke about their brothers, his smile softened, a hint of nostalgia in his eyes. The memories of their friendship were bittersweet, but the pride she felt in their bond was something he shared completely. "You’ve got a good crew behind you." The past and future always had a way of blending together when they talked, weaving moments of their history into their hopes for the future. Isaiah laughed at her playful jab about being nosy. "I’m not nosy, I’m just invested," he teased back, winking. "And hey, if it’s important to you, it’s important to me. Reign's a good choice. He's a nice guy and he's also very hot." He loved hearing her talk about her kids, her life, and everything she juggled. She made it look so effortless, but he knew how much strength and dedication it took. "Well, if you’re a superhero, then I’m definitely the sidekick, right?" He gave a mock salute, his playful nature shining through. “But if you need a break, I’m always here. I’ll take care of them. They’re easy with me.” The thought of having kids one day made Isaiah pause for a moment, but Violet’s words grounded him in reality. "Oh, I’ll take you up on that offer one day," he promised with a smirk. For now, he was happy to be the cool uncle, the guy who was there whenever Violet needed him. The one to pick up the kids with his husband and treat them to great ice cream and a nice outing somewhere while their mom and dad made a connection. "Enjoy it while you can, you deserve it." He gave her a knowing look before adding. Isaiah couldn’t help but flash a teasing grin as he leaned back slightly, his eyes glinting with mischief. “And tell me all the details because, god knows, it’s been way too long since you had a hottie in your bed,” he teased, wiggling his eyebrows with a playful smirk. He knew Violet all too well, and though he’d always been there for her through the hard times, he also knew when it was time to poke fun. She deserved a little fun in her life, and if Reign was the one to bring it, well... Isaiah was more than happy to tease her about it. He gave her a wink, crossing his arms as he waited for her response. “We can exchange details, y’know, just like old times,” he teased, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “I’ll share all my secrets, you share yours. It’ll be just like a good old gossip session.”
Tumblr media
violet and isaiah had been the perfect duo since they met. she knew everything about him, he knew everything about her. they were the closest thing to family without being blood-related. she couldn't imagine her life without isaiah—he had been there for her forever. no matter what happened, isaiah was there to help her through it. he was there when her ex dumped her after she told him she was pregnant, he was there when she gave birth, and he was there when she had to juggle being a teacher, a mom, and everything else all at once. she couldn’t be more grateful to have someone like isaiah who cared about her, and she cared about him just as much—no one could deny it. isaiah was right, he always seemed to be right. the little moments were great, but maybe she was ready for something more—not having to sneak around, being able to tell the kids so they didn’t have to hide, maybe even telling the rest of the world at some point. "maybe i do have to tell him how i feel," she nodded. "you're really wise, officer king," she smiled, winking at him playfully. violet noticed the smile on his lips when she mentioned their brothers. "the corner of chaos is running as smoothly as it always has," she nodded. talking about them sometimes came with sadness, but this time, it came with pride. she was happy to have a friendship as amazing as the one their brothers had. talking about the past and future with isaiah was always nice. one moment they were talking about their brothers, and now they were talking about their kids already growing up. "sure, you can keep the cool uncle title," she nodded, a playful smile on her lips. knowing he would be there for her son as much as he was now felt great—having a police uncle was definitely cool. "you're a nosy man, you didn’t ask for the full itinerary, but deep down, you wanted it," she teased. "a superhero? no, i'm a mom, which sometimes is the same, but honestly, it's the easiest thing in the world," she promised. at least for violet, it came naturally—she didn’t have to think about it, she was just there for nala and ayiden. when he offered to take care of the kids if she ever needed a break, violet smiled. "i know you can handle them, they’re really nice with you. i swear they’ll behave like angels," she nodded. "you’ll probably get a call soon," she chuckled. "who knows," she shrugged. "this lady wants a relaxing night," she joked, shimmying her shoulders. "just remember, when you have kids, the offer goes right to you too."

Isaiah leaned back in his seat, a small but genuine smile playing on his lips as Skylar spoke. Her warmth was something he appreciated deeply—she was the kind of person who made everyone around her feel like they mattered. "That sounds great," Isaiah said with a soft chuckle, the idea of Skylar making dinner for them something he found appealing in a way that felt comforting. "But hey, if you want to take it easy, we can grab takeout. I know Leo’s always up for a pizza night." He winked, his tone light, even though the offer itself felt so sincere. Isaiah couldn’t help but feel a warm sense of gratitude for Skylar. He was happy she saw the good in him when he often couldn’t see it himself. It wasn’t always easy for him to accept compliments, but Skylar’s words landed differently. They were never just words with her—there was always depth behind them. "Thank you for saying that," he said, his voice softer now, a little vulnerable. "I guess it’s easy to think I’m not quite living up to what Leo’s gives out y’know? But hearing that from you, it helps." He gave a small, thankful nod, letting her words sink in. When Skylar handed him his drink and spoke about his work, he couldn’t help but smile at her light teasing. He appreciated her ability to keep things easy-going, even when things at work were far from easy. "Yeah, it’s definitely been a lot," he said with a sigh, but it was clear from his expression that things were indeed starting to feel more balanced. "But like you said, it’s getting better." He watched as Skylar walked over to his coworker, the way she interacted with everyone around her so effortlessly—it was clear that she made people feel seen, and Isaiah was no exception. When she came back, he smiled at her apology. "Don’t worry about him," he said with a shrug, "he’s used to it. He’ll survive." The mention of the wedding caught him off guard, but in a good way. The memory of that night always brought a soft warmth to his heart, and hearing Skylar reflect on it made it feel all the more special. "Yeah, three years," he chuckled, shaking his head as if he couldn’t believe it. "It really was magical, wasn’t it? I’m glad you were there to share it with us. It was a night I’ll never forget." He leaned forward slightly, his voice lowering with a playful glint in his eyes. “Well,” he said, his tone playful with a hint of mischief, “I made him a king that night.” His eyes sparkled with humor, and there was a subtle confidence in his voice. "Couldn’t let him get married without a little royal treatment, right?" He gave her a wink, clearly enjoying the moment and the easy way they could banter with each other. "Honestly, I think he’s still riding that high. I mean, you saw him that night—couldn’t have looked even more proud of himself."
Tumblr media
skylar really loved the relationship she had with the kings. they were such good people, and she was grateful to be able to call leo and isaiah her friends. they were always so kind to her and romeo, which mattered the most in skylar’s mind. she clicked with isaiah almost instantly when leo introduced them, and their friendship grew fast. she was so glad her best friend had brought them together. she could see how similar she and isaiah were in a lot of ways, and she loved that. "right?" she chuckled softly. skylar loved making plans with the people she cared about—spending time with the right people was always worth it. she was sure romeo wouldn’t mind a double-date type of thing. "oh, you can always come to our place. you work so hard, i don’t mind making dinner, it’s really no big deal," she smiled. skylar loved cooking for people—that was part of why she opened her coffee shop in the first place. "but whatever you prefer." she didn’t want to pressure them into anything, so if they wanted takeout instead, she was fine with that. seeing the softness in isaiah’s eyes and the love in his words made skylar smile. she was so happy that he had found his person. everyone deserved that. she had been lucky enough to find hers, and she wished the same for all the people she loved. when he spoke, she saw how he doubted himself. she was used to that—people seeing the best in others but struggling to see it in themselves. "for the record, i know i’m not leo or anything, but i do think you’re amazing," she said softly. while focusing on making their order, she still made sure to listen to isaiah’s words. "why shouldn’t you? you work so hard—you deserve it," she smiled, adding the topping to his drink. "that sounds stressful," she mused, handing him his cup. "i’m glad things are getting back to normal." as isaiah sat, she glanced over at his coworker. "you do have the best company waiting for you," she teased before adding, "give me a sec, i’ll take this over to your coworker." skylar walked over to the other officer and handed him his drink with a warm smile before heading back behind the bar and sitting near isaiah. "sorry, i felt bad making him wait while i kept you here," she said softly. then she grinned. "i can’t believe it’s already been three years since your wedding." she shook her head. "that night was magical, and i wasn’t even the one getting married!" she laughed. "if i could go back and experience it again, i totally would."

Isaiah watched Violet with a soft smile, the kind he only reserved for moments like this—when the weight of their years of friendship was palpable between them. They had built something beautiful, a relationship that felt as solid as family. Through every high, every low, they had stood by each other, and he couldn’t help but feel proud of what they had created, the bond that had only strengthened over time. She was as close as anyone could get to a sister, and he’d never take that for granted. When Violet spoke of wanting more with Reign, Isaiah's heart warmed for her. She had always been the one who gave so much, who loved fiercely, and now, it seemed, she was ready for something deeper, something lasting with him. He’s lucky to have you, Isaiah thought, and for a second, he let his mind wander to how happy he was to see her finally voicing what she truly wanted. "Of course I can see it," he teased with a grin, giving her a playful nudge. "Anyone could. You deserve the real thing, Violet. The little moments are nice, but they aren’t the whole picture. You deserve all of it—the love, the commitment, the messy, beautiful life that comes with it." He meant it with everything he had. Violet was too good for anything less, and Reign—he hoped—would see that soon enough. At the mention of their brothers, Gabriel and Ayiden, Isaiah’s smile deepened. "They’d definitely be proud of us," he agreed, his tone warm. "I think we’ve managed to do something pretty special, huh? Kept our little corner of chaos running smooth, through it all." He leaned back against the counter, crossing his arms and giving Violet a sidelong glance. "But you’re right. It’s going to be our perfect chaos. I’m excited for our futures and wherever they'll take us both." When she talked about buying presents for his kids, his heart swelled just a little bit. He could see it too—Violet making every moment count. "Someone’s gotta be the fun uncle, right?" He watched as she stuck her tongue out at him, a playful challenge in her eyes, and he couldn’t help but laugh. "Yeah, yeah," he said with a smirk, "You keep telling yourself that." The mention of the waffles made him raise an eyebrow. Mickey waffles sounded delicious. "Sounds like you’re spoiling him with that Mickey waffle maker." When Violet caught him leaning against the counter, he couldn’t help but grin at her accusation. "What? Nosy? I’m just curious about how you spend your evenings, that’s all." He listened as she told him about her night, and his heart tugged a little at the thought of her juggling so many things, all with such grace. "I didn’t mean to get the full itinerary," he said with a playful shrug, "but I guess I got it anyway. You’re a superhero, Violet." He smiled, knowing full well that, in her own way, she always was. He knew she dealt with the whole world at once. That's what made her a remarkable teacher above all things. With a wink, and a shrug he added, "Just remember, if you need a break from your duties, Uncle Isaiah’s here. I know how much you give to everyone, but you deserve time to recharge too," he continued, the playful edge in his voice softening into something more tender. "I’m sure I can handle the little ones." Violet deserved to find love and make love and start falling in love. He raised his hands in mock surrender, his tone teasing but sincere. "I’ll take care of Nala and Ayiden, and you just go do your thing. Just say when and I'll take them out for the night."
Tumblr media
the relationship they shared was something most people could probably only dream of having. they were incredibly close, even their kids would call each other uncle and auntie. she loved isaiah as if he was her brother. they had gone through their highs and lows, and she was sure that was going to be that way for the rest of time. she was going to celebrate with isaiah as she did when he got married, she was going to be there whenever he felt lost, she was going to be someone who wasn't going to leave his side, just like leo would do for her husband, but violet had been doing for many, many years. "you can see it?" she asked playfully, "i hope he sees that too, because i'm here for the real thing, the little rendezvous are great, but i want the whole thing, i want a relationship with him." that was the first time those words had ever left violet's lips. she wanted a relationship with reign. she wanted everything with him. at the thought of their relationship, violet smiled at her best friend. "i'm proud of us, we managed to keep our brother's friendship alive," she nodded. "i'm sure gabriel and ayiden are proud of us," she nodded, a soft smile tugging the corners of her lips. "it's going to be our perfect chaos, and i'm so ready for that, i want everything," she nodded. she could already see herself buying presents for isaiah's kids, nala and ayiden, all different because of the age difference but each one of them being the most special thing she could gift them. at his mention of wanting to see her son being embarrassed by her, violet laughed. "i'm so ready to see him all blushing and nervous because of a girl or a boy, i'm so, so ready to be the kind of mother who shows them his baby pictures," she joked, a chuckle dropping from her lips. "yeah, someone has to be the cool person in here, it of course will be his uncle isaiah," she teased, sticking her tongue out childishly at him. "oh, isaiah, you're the lucky one," she shook her head, smiling. at his playful accusation, she raised her eyebrows at him. "i did not, he had waffles made with the mickey waffle maker santa got him for christmas," she smiled. she loved that thing, it had been a present for her kid, but it felt like a self-present. violet's eyebrows raised as she noticed isaiah leaning against the counter. "you're so nosy, aren't you?" she laughed. "after his shift," she said softly, "he told me he was probably going to stay there pretty late, so i'm in charge of feeding, being a policewoman myself so those two brush their teeth, i'm on tale duty, and then i'll wait for him," she explained. "you wanted a full-time table of my evening, didn't you?" she joked.

Isaiah watched Skylar with a soft smile. He’d always appreciated how deeply she cared for Leo and for him. Skylar wasn’t the type to offer affection just for show—her kindness was real, and it meant the world to him. He knew Leo felt the same, which made him feel all the more grateful for their friendship. Skylar was such a great friend to have. As she talked about having dinner together, Isaiah couldn’t help but chuckle. He could see how excited she was, and it was hard not to share in that joy. "Dinner and a movie sounds perfect," he said, the idea already sounding like something he’d look forward to. "And hey, don’t apologize—getting carried away sounds like the best way to plan a fun night. I could order take out so nobody has to cook too!" He'd let his husband know as soon as he went back home to get things planned out and set up for a date in the near future. When Skylar commented on his relationship with Leo, Isaiah felt a warmth spread through him, a kind of gratitude that he always struggled to put into words. He pressed a hand onto his own heart. "Thank you, Sky," he said, his voice sincere. "We are lucky. I don’t think either of us could ask for anyone better." He meant it deeply—Leo was everything to him, and hearing that Skylar saw their bond as something special only made it clearer how right they were for each other. "Well, maybe he could, but I definitely couldn't." Isaiah didn't see himself as great. He noticed his own flaws and could see points he wanted to work on. Isaiah watched as Skylar prepared their drinks, the way she moved with such ease, making it clear how much she was used to balancing tasks while staying present with the people around. When she offered him a choice of whipped cream or marshmallows, he couldn’t resist a teasing reply. "Whipped cream, definitely," he said with a grin. "I shouldn't, but it's a treat, right? You can't say no to those things." As she shifted gears and asked about his life outside of work, he appreciated the genuine curiosity in her voice. Skylar always made people feel like they mattered, like they were worth knowing beyond the surface. Isaiah leaned against the counter, his gaze softening as he thought about her question. "Personally, I've been alright, we've gone through some testing times the last couple of months but everything's beginning to fall back into place with a little patience." Isaiah had been working with his husband on building his trust again. "No complaints here. I have the world's best husband to go home too every night."
Tumblr media
skylar was the kind of person who didn’t know how not to care about people. whether it was bringing coffee to her boyfriend once a week or sharing little moments with her friends, caring for others came naturally to her. isaiah, her best friend leo’s husband, was no exception. she thought the world of him—he was kind, supportive, and absolutely perfect for leo. her affection for isaiah wasn’t romantic but stemmed from how happy he made her best friend. "that’d be amazing," skylar said with a warm smile tugging at her lips. "we could all have dinner together. that would be so nice," she added, her excitement bubbling. "maybe a movie too? oh god, stop me—I’m getting carried away." she laughed softly, brushing off her enthusiasm but clearly enjoying the idea of quality time with her friends. as she worked behind the counter, skylar listened to isaiah with genuine interest. years of balancing conversation and tasks—thanks to romeo’s influence during their shared afternoons at her workplace—had made multitasking second nature to her. "that’s so sweet," she said, her voice warm. "honestly, you and leo are the most amazing couple I’ve ever seen." her smile widened as she glanced up. "you’re so lucky to have each other—you’re like the perfect pair." skylar began filling one of the mugs with a warm drink, the steam curling into the air as she worked. "do you want whipped cream or a marshmallow on yours?" she asked, her tone light and playful. "we all need a little sweet treat now and then," she teased, adding a playful wink. "so," she said, shifting her attention back to isaiah, "other than work, how’ve you been?" her curiosity was genuine—skylar had a way of making people feel like they truly mattered, no matter what.

Isaiah watched Violet with a quiet understanding, her words settling in the space between them like a warm embrace. He had always known they shared something special, a connection built on years of friendship, loss, and love. The kind of bond that didn’t need words to feel real. And now, as she spoke, he could hear the hope, the hesitation, and the quiet strength in her voice. It was so much like her to want to protect her heart, and he respected that more than anything. “I can tell Reign’s the real deal. You don’t have to worry about him. And, you’re right—he loves Ayiden. It’s clear as day. He wants to be there for both of you, just like you’re ready to be there for Nala and him. It’s different, I can see that too.” He smiled warmly, his eyes softening at the mention of his own life. Leo was Isaiah's lifeline. He was with someone who loved him just as deeply as he deserved. It made his heart swell to hear Violet say she believed in love because of Leo and him. “Honestly, we’ve been through a lot to get here, you and me,” he continued, his voice reflective, “and I’m proud of what we’ve both built. We didn’t let our grief hold us both down, and that’s something pretty special.” When she laughed at the thought of their chaotic, blended Christmas, he couldn’t help but join in. The image of all of them together—children running around, love and laughter filling the air—was perfect in its own messy way. "It’s going to be chaos, for sure, but it’ll be ours, and that’s what makes it perfect." Isaiah chuckled, glancing over at the sounds of Ayiden and Nala from the other room. He smiled, his heart light as he thought about how much Ayiden had grown and how he was already acting big brother like to Nala. "I’m going to enjoy seeing Ayiden embarrassed by you," he said, the teasing glint in his eyes. "I'll always be cool in his eyes." Her playful jab about "big feelings" made him roll his eyes, but there was no escaping the affection in his smile. He could never stay mad at her, not for long. "You’re lucky you’re like my family," he said with a teasing laugh, grabbing the broccoli floret she threw at him and inspecting it as he scrunched up his nose. "You feed your kid vegetables for breakfast this morning?" He winked at her and then set to work finishing their meal, feeling a wave of gratitude for the bond they shared. It was rare, precious, and something he would never take for granted. Isaiah leaned casually against the counter, a playful glint in his eyes as he glanced at Violet. "So, what time is Reign coming back, seeing as Nala is here?" He raised an eyebrow, his grin widening. "Is he staying the night?"

the connection she had with isaiah was something most people could only wish for. she loved isaiah as if he were her own brother. they had always been incredibly close, practically friends their entire lives because of their brothers’ friendship, which started long before theirs. even though their brothers were no longer around, their bond had remained unshaken. she loved that she didn’t have to pretend around him—he just got her. having someone like isaiah in her life was invaluable. if isaiah was anything like gabriel, it was no wonder her brother had loved him so much. violet had kept herself distant from men in the years after ayiden was born. she wanted to give him her undivided attention, especially after the disaster that was her relationship with ayiden’s father. giving a chance to someone who had been cheating on his girlfriend with her had shattered her heart into pieces. but reign? he was nothing like austin, and that was one of the first things she had noticed about him. still, she couldn’t help but feel scared—scared of having her heart broken again, scared of ayiden suffering because she had fallen for someone too quickly. “we are, right?” she asked, glancing at isaiah. she couldn’t help noticing how, in their own ways, they’d both ended up raising children alone. not for the same reasons, but the heartbreak they’d endured had a way of connecting them. “i think he’s the right one,” she said, her voice steady but thoughtful. “it doesn’t feel like it did with ayiden’s father. this feels different, like it could really be something good.” she nodded to herself. “he loves ayiden—I can see it. and he can be there for us, just like i want to be there for nala and him.” maybe she did love him. “you two are the reason i believe in love,” she said with a smile. “you’re such a perfect couple.” she couldn’t have been happier for her best friend and his husband. it warmed her heart to know isaiah had found someone who loved him as much as he deserved. the thought of their chaotic, blended christmas made violet laugh. “it’s going to be chaos, but it’ll be the most perfect christmas ever,” she said with certainty. “it’s our kids—we can handle the chaos. it’s not like any of us are serious troublemakers. well, other than me,” she added with a playful grin. from the other room, she could hear ayiden’s voice, chatting happily with nala. he was already acting like a big brother, helping her and enjoying their time together. violet smiled to herself. every time her son ran to hug her in the hallway or waved at her with nala in tow, her heart swelled. she already knew ayiden would be the best big brother. “he’ll still be my perfect baby boy when he’s twenty-five,” she said with a nod. “he’ll hate hearing it, but i’ll love embarrassing him with it.” she laughed, the thought filling her with joy. “imagine when he starts dating someone. i’m going to tease that kid as much as i tease you!” her laughter echoed in the kitchen. “but honestly, if he wanted to stay this little forever, i wouldn’t mind one bit.” she chuckled at the idea. “feelings are good, isaiah,” she teased in a tone she often used with her students. “not my fault you’ve got big feelings.” she couldn’t resist teasing him further. “now let’s finish this, and stop eating everything! your nephew is supposed to be the one eating.” with a mischievous smile, she tossed a broccoli floret at him. sure, it wasn’t exactly right, but she’d planned to toss that piece anyway—it had definitely been someone’s breakfast once upon a time.
