mbti aesthetics: ISTP: The Crafter [3/16]
ISTPs are good at logical analysis, and like to use it on practical concerns. They typically have strong powers of reasoning, although theyâre not interested in theories or concepts unless they can see a practical application.

IxxP Aesthetic
One for the misfits.
INFP: Industrial ruins offering glimpses into a post-apocalyptic world where slowly, but inevitably, wild grasses will softly bury everything until the sun will engulf the earth and the universe will implode. Getting lost in the streets of an unfamiliar town, door creaking as you enter the messiest antiquarian bookshop imaginable and are greeted with a kind smile. Wooden merry-go-rounds with hand-carved horses, hand-cranked organ playing circus tunes. Ten-page letters never sent, messages in a bottle found a hundred years later. An abandoned train station in the middle of nowhere where maybe the ghost of the porter is forever waiting for passengers he knows will not arrive. Being careful to avoid an audible click between tracks so to not ruin that well-nigh perfect transition between songs as you record a mixtape onto cassette. Modern-day hand bookbinders and watchmakers. That one good line from that awful poem you wrote in seventh grade. Everything cringeworthy about your favorite bandâs first demo tape.
INTP: Home plastered with whiteboards, fridge-freezer door painted with chalkboard paint for good measure so you can deal with your brainstorms whenever you have them. ChindĹgu, the Japanese art of coming up with creative solutions to minor everyday annoyances that are ultimately useless because people would be too embarrassed to use them, such as the famous noodle splash guard. Fringe sports. Like curling. Disc golf. Or robot soccer. The USS Enterprise-shaped pizza cutter. Setting Wikipediaâs Randompage as your homepage, never getting started on anything because you keep clicking the hyperlinks in the articles. Avoiding TV Tropes for the very reason. Getting unexpectedly invested in the debate when it comes to footnotes vs. endnotes. Wanting to learn Elvish but getting stuck when you canât decide between Quenya and Sindarin. Also maybe wanting to learn stenography. Or steganography. Or how to play the contrabass balalaika.
ISTP: Blue jeans, white shirt, vintage leather jacket. Wishing the multiplayer trend in gaming would go away because you like the sense of personal responsibility found in a classic adventure but getting really competitive at Mario Kart. Cherry pit spitting. Building your own bed frame out of recycled pallets. Wearing your battle scars with pride. That one delinquent character in a highschool anime setting with the key to the forbidden rooftop. Just⌠sitting on rooftops. When the silence between two people isnât awkward at all but feels natural for once. Knees grazed from skateboarding, callused fingers from playing guitar. Collecting vintage horror pulp zines. Or baseball cards. Or pocket knives. Tinkering things apart and putting them back together again to see how they work. Patching up your worn-out combat boots with shoe goo to grant them another chance at life. The rewarding view from the summit after a particularly challenging hike. ISFP: Those utterly perfect movie scenes. Like when Luke Skywalker gazes into Tatooineâs evening sky, Binary Sunsets is playing, and nothing fucking happens but you feel that this, this is the very moment he realizes he might just be stuck on that dead-ass planet for the rest of his life and heâs mourning the life heâll never have, or maybe heâs actually deciding heâs indeed made for greater things, who knows, but the sheer significance is there for everyone to forever burn onto their retinas. You know the scenes. Not being intimidated by an empty canvas but excited about the unlimited possibilities contained within. Decorating your dorm room with washi tape. Meticulously consistent editing of pictures so to not disrupt the flow of your Instagram feed. The plethora of colours light shines onto a soap bubble. Bath bombs. Sidewalk chalk. Not necessarily studying but always stocking up on cute stationery. Having strong opinions on the fonts used in movie end credits (Wes Anderson has a thing for Futura, by the way). The brand of escapism embodied in a Lana Del Rey video.

Things I love about each type!! based on multiple personal experiences
ENFJ love: You genuinely care about your family. Youâre softies. You have a way of making everyone listen to you and believe you, no matter what. That inspires an inner leader in me, well done. Youâre usually great at making friends and meeting new people.
ENFP love: You are energetic when around people you like, which is almost all the time. I see you have a longing to deeply connect with people. You are attracted to people that you want to be, or have qualities you wish you had. You are intelligent, so stop acting dumb. My time spent with you is never wasted, I always learn something, and feel loved. Thanks for the brilliant and accurate compliments btw.
ENTJ love: You are strong. I can say evil and inappropriate things in front of you that would be considered socially strange and you either add on to it or laugh, rather than calling the police or my therapist. You are passionate. You secretly want people to like you instead of just follow you.
ENTP love: We donât have conversations, we have discussions. Itâs beautiful. Iâve never heard you engage in small talk. Your emotions are intense. I love how all you do is argue and debate and invent. I need you in my life.
ESFJ love: You are the most loyal and caring people Iâve ever met. You just want to have fun, and make sure everyone else is having fun. You cry openly, but loathe doing it. Despite what you think, people like you, okay? You are likable. Also, learn to turn your back on people who turn their back on you.
ESFP love: Nothing will stop you. NOTHING. Nobody could survive the way you do. You have endless energy and love. You are deeper than the internet says. You people have inspiring messages, and youâre never done saying yes. Everyone knows your name.
ESTJ love: Youâre bluntness inspires me. You are true to yourself. You wonât let things get you down. You are trustworthy. You donât care about popular society norms. You are crazy and hilarious, your quotes are memorable. Fabulous story tellers. Fucking brave, ruthless, and metal as fuck.
ESTP love: The perfect amount of sadistic. Reliable and loyal. You are strangely seductive and charming. You know what you want. Decisive.
INFJ love: I want to be more like you. Iâve always been drawn to you people. You are incredibly organised. The definition of saying nothing and thinking about everything. You have a likeness for the strange and for the antique. Old souls.
INFP love: Attracted to the fucked up things in the world. Wallow in your own sadness swamp, and donât want to get me involved. You guys always put others before you. Way too selfless.
INTJ love: The way you think. You make people worried, angry, and laugh without trying. In fact, you have no clue what you do that makes them feel that way. Keep going.
INTP love: You are mental. You have an amazing brain but you donât train it hard enough. Smarter than people think. Generally funny.
ISFJ love: I love that when you are angry or drunk you guys are always the boss. Great leaders because you see what youâre capable of and cater to people specifically. Will do anything for the people you love, or people who are going through a shitty time.
ISFP love: You live in beautiful spaces. You keep to yourselves. I love that you guys love me. Somehow you see the best in people. You are all secretly emo.
ISTJ love: I actually trust you. If someone tells you something or if you see or hear something you arenât supposed to, you keep it to yourself even if people hound you for it. A brilliant friend, you wonât lie to them. Interested in things that make you think. Strong moral compass.
ISTP love: Soft, yet hard. Extremely quiet, but when you speak and contribute you make everything better. Problem solvers. Disappears all the time, people donât question it anymore. Really hard to hate.

Myers Briggs Test by Functions
Rank each of the following statements on a scale of 1 to 5 based on how well it describes you or your beliefs (1 being not at all and 5 being describes completely):
It is unkind to unnecessarily offend others; people should filter what they say in order to avoid hurting those around them.
I think most things have a deeper meaning than what is present on the surface. I spend a lot of time contemplating what individual events or statements mean or say about life as a whole.
When working on a problem, I like working with my hands rather than theorizing, finding it helpful to be able to create and see the physical results of a project.
I find it fun to intellectually reason through different theories or ideas, even if there is no logical application for this type of knowledge.
Once I find something I like, I tend to stick with it loyally instead of trying out new options. I believe thereâs no reason to change something that works well in the first place.
When considering one topic or idea, my mind easily jumps to related stories and other connections. Often people find it difficult to follow my train of thought because my mind jumps from idea to idea.
You should stay true to yourself and say what you believe without worrying about who will be upset by your words or actions.
People should be able to back up their assertions with overt facts, data, and reasoning. These will reveal whether something is true and logical or false and illogical.
Life is meant to be experienced first hand. I enjoy sensory experiences like sports/art/etc. and taking in the world as I experience it rather than living in my head.
I prefer brainstorming various options and envisioning all the possible ways a project/event could go rather than committing to one idea and sticking with it.
I feel like it is my responsibility to consider the moral and emotional wellbeing of those around me; I like to advise my friends on finding the right thing to do and I deeply care about their problems.
I am often thinking about the future and events that are to come. I have a clear vision in my head of what I want things to be like, or what I think they will be like. This vision is clear and focused and I like to narrow down the ways the future could unfold to one.
I almost always know how and why I am feeling a certain way in a situation. When presented with controversial topics, I can easily understand what my personal views are outside of the context of other peopleâs beliefs.
I am energized by wit, word games, puzzles, riddles: anything that involves my inner sense of logic and reasoning. I like breaking concepts down in my head in order to understand them.
I am skilled at taking charge of a group, impersonally organizing people and implementing a plan of action. I have assertive and organized qualities that make me a born leader.
I often consider new situations in the light of my past experiences and memory. I think about what I learned from past situations and apply these to my current ones.
I am very in tune with my environment: noticing any changes that occur, completing physical tasks easily, and having an eye for aesthetics.
I am good at looking at a project or situation and recognizing the flaws or weaknesses and proposing a method that is more efficient.
I donât find it useful to share my emotions with others, and it doesnât help me to understand my feelings to talk them over with a friend. I can best understand how I feel in a situation by spending time by myself processing my feelings.
When I consider the future, I think about all the disparate ways a situation could unfold. I anticipate every different situation without worrying about which is the best or most accurate.
I am good at noticing details: small visual cues or other characteristics of my environment, how Iâm feeling internally, and particulars such as numbers or dates, and have a good memory where I store this information.
I tend to think convergently. I will focus on one situation or project and analyze it, spending my time interpreting it from every possible angle in order to completely understand it.
I like the idea of reaching harmony in a group, and tend to sense and consider what other peopleâs values and beliefs are before making a decision. I like those around me to be happy with the decisions that are made.
I think external methods of organization (such as corporation hierarchies or governments) are a necessary way of maintaining efficiency and maximum productivity, and I like to see how I can fit my plans and logic into an overarching system such as these.
I look at independent experiences or situations and try to condense them into greater, overarching truths.
Once something has piqued my interest, I want to understand it completely: all the little details of its inner workings so I can fully decipher it.
I have a good memory. I can easily remember and place faces, names, dates, etc. even from a long time ago.
Even though I am a deeply emotional person, I recognize the fact that feelings and morals are generally illogical and created by the individual.
I recognize that there are many âtruthsâ in life, and none of them are absolute over the others. I appreciate each perspective for its own individual frame of mind and ideas.
I find that talking over my feelings with a friend helps me to understand how Iâm feeling, verbalizing my emotions and hearing feedback from someone I trust.
I would consider myself a realistic person, good at recognizing what needs to be done in situations and actually implementing it.
I understand new situations best by jumping into it myself. I learn by taking in the sights and sounds of a place and interacting with it in the moment.
KEY: Si: 5, 16, 21, 27 Se: 3, 9, 17, 32 Ni: 2, 12, 22, 25 Ne: 6, 10, 20, 29 Ti: 4, 14, 18, 26 Te: 8, 15, 24, 31 Fi: 7, 13, 19, 28 Fe: 1, 11, 23, 30
Then type yourself by looking at the functions of the different Myers Briggs types, picking which function orders you fit primarily based on your dominant, then auxiliary, and possibly tertiary functions as well (though usually not your inferior functions).Â

What about ISTP ravenclaws?
Thanks for the ask and sorry for the wait! @livingfortheflameÂ
- ISTPs are the type of people who are ~constantly~ exploring the world around them
- Probably took apart and reassembled a wand or broomstick for scientific purposes
- Interested in every single subject and tries to take 9000 classes like Hermione
- Invented so much useless crap??? But itâs so great???
- They get very absorbed in their work
-Â âSo what are you working on?â ISTP:Â âSit back, get comfortable, weâre gonna be talking about this for three hours,,,â
- They love getting involved in community stuff like quidditch games, especially if they can lend a hand
- Friendly, but actually pretty private and enigmatic sometimes
- Curious about everything (theyâre that annoying kid who constantly asks questions)
- Unless theyâre shy, which is pretty unusual for ISTPs but still possible
- Can be a little insensitive because emotions arenât their strongest point
- Totally guided by passion tho, will cancel plans at the last moment to go pet a unicorn
- They??Love??Everything??In??Life??Mostly??
- Many ISTPs love doing hands-on things like mechanical engineering
- But donât think theyâre simple- their minds work like a complex set of gears that are ALWAYS turning
- The one who accidentally melted your bed-post in an experiment
- Their interest in learning is a strong Ravenclaw trait, though they can be mistaken for a Gryffindor because of their always-moving mentality and hands-on approach to life
- Honestly ISTPs are the backbone of Ravenclaw #nooneelseismotivatedtodoanythingÂ
