Also before I lose my nerve: Sirius/Luna, social outcasts that they are (and would she perhaps like to hear him sing hm?)
thank you very much for the ask, pal!
i will back this pairing as something which fits fully within my "luna needs to be with a condescending older man she can gradually render shambolic by the force of her luna-ness" paradigm.
i need the fic in which luna is so insistent that he is stubby boardman that sirius begins to lose all sense of identity - especially for the comedy of errors potential when the real stubby turns up six months later to try and stop sirius pilfering his royalty cheques from his record company.

scylla and charybdis - a snippet
severus snape/lord voldemort explicit graphic depictions of violence | major character death read here
in which snape enters both his eliza dolittle and his "being used to make bellatrix jealous" eras.
Beams of sunlight coiled - like lazy, shimmering snakes - through the glass roof of the Lestrangesâ greenhouse.
A neon-pink Fwooper glared at him - unable, due to the Silencing Charm placed upon it, to screech until everyone in a ten-foot radius was a dribbling lunatic - from the branches of a banana tree. Something - soon revealed to be a platoon of Gnomes, several of whom were wearing string vests fashioned from garden twine - rustled in the trailing vines of a Venomous Tentacula. The sun hit the leaves of a Monstera, sending dots of light scattering - like a disco ball - across the workbench which had been set up in the middle of the room.
For the first time since heâd started brewing for the Dark Lord, Severus had been allowed out of the cellars. For the first time since heâd started brewing for the Dark Lord, the task which had awaited him - as heâd been informed by Rodolphus, who looked happier than Severus had ever seen him, the second he stepped out of the fireplace - hadnât been poison. Which needs to be made in secrecy. Which takes its power from the gloom.
Todayâs potion was nothing more gruesome than Veritaserum.
Which needs to be made in the light.
And which is not - if he was being frank - a two-man job.
The Dark Lord seemed to have summoned him purely in order to take advantage of his company.
(It made something scrunch - like paper crushed in a fist - in his stomach.)
And also - although this was rather less conducive to bolstering his ego - to talk non-stop at him for half an hour about Bellatrix, while Severus kept up a stream of âyes, my lordâ and âabsolutely, my lordâ like he was being timed by a metronome.
â- tantrum will burn itself out soon. She is nothing if not predictable. She will wake up one morning without the fog of petulance, remember how profoundly she detests Lucius, and then return where she belongsâŠâ
The steam rising from the cauldrons on the workbench made the greenhouse seem like a jungle. Viewed through the tropical haze, the Dark Lord - in layers of emerald green velvet, despite the heat, which blended into the leaves - was an even more beguiling serpent than usual.
âSeverus, are you quite alright?
Severus realised - and hastily averted his eyes before the Dark Lord became aware of that fact - that heâd missed his cue - âYes, my lord, sheâll return where she belongsâ - because he was too busy staring at the wiggle of his waist as he stalked around the bench frowning at a battered - and just as heavily-annotated as Severusâ own - copy of Advanced Potion Making.
âYes, my lord. Iâm fine.â
âAre you overheating?â
âNo, my lord.â
âReally?â His eyes flickered - and not kindly - over Severusâ Muggle shirt. âEven though you are dressed most unsuitablyâŠâ
âErm -â
âAnd you are mangling that ginger.â
âIâm sorry, my lord.â
The Dark Lord huffed.
âShould I do the ginger again, or -?â
âWhy arenât you wearing robes? At Easter, you seemed determined to comport yourself in a way befitting your magical blood⊠I was almost impressedâŠâ He gave his cauldron an agitated poke with his stirring rod. âBut now you turn up looking like youâve been queuing at a labour exchangeâŠâ
Severus shifted his weight from one foot to the other.
âI -â He cleared his throat awkwardly. The Dark Lordâs eyebrows furrowed. âI donât have any summer robes, my lord.â
âThen Lucius will acquire some for you,â the Dark Lord said, with a dismissive wave of his hand. âHe has enough money. And - while I am naturally deeply troubled by the idea of the nationâs peacock-breeders having to face a lean August - you are a far better way of spending it than his usual proclivitiesâŠâ He picked up his knife - his tarnished silver knife; his school knife - and began to chop a sprig of rosemary. âAlthough it seems that I have my explanation as to why Bellaâs fit of hysterics has managed to last so long⊠The opportunity to gawk at you - to be astonished by how uncouth you are - will be delighting her enough to prove a powerful weapon against Lucius and Narcissaâs inanity⊠Undoubtedly, she spends her days tuning out the dull music of the household and picturing me slaughtering you when my displeasure at your appearance can no longer be containedâŠâ
âOh,â said Severus. âRight.â
The Dark Lordâs sharp teeth glittered. âBut we shall have to disappoint her, shanât we, Severus? After all, self-satisfaction is so unbecoming of such a beautiful woman⊠It ages the skinâŠâ
âEr - I suppose.â
âDo you know, Severus, I sometimes wonder if I should have gone into teaching⊠I can only imagine that I would have found myself as Head of Slytherin in five minutes flat⊠And then perhaps I would sit in the Headmasterâs chair, instead of Dumbledore, and the castle wouldnât be going to the dogsâŠâ He chuckled malevolently to himself. âI am teaching you Potions, I am teaching you the Dark Arts, and now I shall teach you how to conduct yourself so elegantly that even Mrs Lestrange will be unable to find fault with your breeding⊠Andâ - he smiled, his pupils contracting into slits in the sun - âjust think how irritated she will be by thatâŠâ
âI see. Er - I mean - thank you, my lord.â
The Dark Lord looked at him appraisingly. âI think we shall start with your voice⊠You are out of the slums now. It is time you started sounding like itâŠâ
âWhat, like My Fair Lady?â
Heâd spoken without thinking - had let slip a flash of Muggle knowledge -
[Of Lily, whoâd snuck into the Corn Exchange with him to watch a tenth-anniversary showing, and whoâd gasped so loudly at the dress Audrey Hepburn had worn to the races that the usher had spotted them and thrown them out.]
- without thinking, and now he was going to be punished for the transgression, and -âLike Pygmalion, Severus,â the Dark Lord said blithely, as he examined the surface of the potion. âA far more sophisticated name for the saga.â He scraped the rosemary into the cauldron, frowning slightly. âShe didnât even do her own singingâŠâ

Why do you think lupin enjoys snape being terrified of him? What does he get out of it?
schadenfreude.
one of the reasons why lupin's adult relationship with snape is much darker than sirius' is because - in their teenage years - snape had no chance of hurting sirius [and james] socially. as complicated as his family life is, sirius is still a wealthy, able-bodied pureblood man - in the eyes of wizarding society, he's "correct", while someone like snape, who doesn't live up to this ideal, has no chance of holding social power over him.
lupin, contrast, is someone who would also have had social power over snape - his father worked for the ministry and therefore had social and financial stability which snape's family lacked - were it not for his lycanthropy.
werewolves are an underclass in wizarding society. and the discrimination they experience manifests itself not only at an institutional level - in the legislation which makes it near-impossible for them to find work, for example - but at an interpersonal one. people don't want to socialise with werewolves - they don't want them in their schools and their shops and their friendship groups; they don't want them wearing their clothes or eating their food or marrying their women.
and so there are two options available to werewolves. either you take the greyback route, and form your own separatist communities, or you try and fit into mainstream wizarding society...
by ruthlessly keeping your condition a secret.
this is the option lupin chooses. and it's an option - canon makes clear - which involves enormous personal risk. as he says in prisoner of azkaban, he has to resign the moment his condition becomes public knowledge, because otherwise he will be driven out of his job [and - potentially - worse] by a mob.
it's clear in canon that - during his school days - dumbledore and the rest of the hogwarts staff went to enormous lengths to keep the truth about lupin's condition secret. and we can presume that they did this in order to prevent lupin and his family being persecuted by a mob if it got out that there was a werewolf studying alongside their children.
[dumbledore's failure to provide any other werewolf children with an education - while one of his least impressive decisions - is by the by here...]
although i disagree with him that sirius attempted to murder him, snape seems - on the basis of the information we have in the text - to have a point that sirius should probably have received more punishment for luring him to the shack than seems to have been the case. it's also fair to say that it's a failure on the school's part that snape transparently isn't given any help to process an experience he clearly finds extremely traumatic [and with good reason!].
but - nevertheless - his teenage determination to prove that lupin is a werewolf and then to spread that information around isn't the equivalent to him telling lily that james is two-faced and nothing like as lovely as he wants people to think...
it's him trying - whether we think he's doing this inadvertently or intentionally [and i think the latter] - to really, really fuck up lupin's life.
and so i can't say i blame lupin for finding it funny that snape's attempts to do this constantly fail, and that snape is forced to be afraid of him in silence, continuing to keep the secret he was so determined to leak, while all the other teachers think that lupin is sweet and mild-mannered.
[indeed, it's worth noting that, at the end of prisoner of azkaban, lupin - because he's so ashamed of the near-miss after he forgets to take his wolfsbane - seems to tender his resignation to dumbledore before snape leaks that he's a werewolf. i like the idea of this as yet another petty victory for lupin - ruining snape's big moment by going full "you can't fire me, i quit!"... high camp.]

Chapter 9 was incredible. Please tell us one thing - one thing - that went through Snape's mind in the 15 minutes that followed Sirius tucking that strand of hair behind his ear.

My first attempt at fanart.
Snape isn't sure who he's more jealous of: Bellatrix or the Dark Lord. All he knows is that he has no chance with either of them.
