Sooooooo...... What if Sun and Moon hosted a family friendly TV program? I literally spent....all day on this. My brain just kinda hyperfixated on this silly idea and I spent my WHOLE DAY getting this done. Especially getting Sun and Moon's designs to look how I wanted them to! Gotta say, pretty happy with the result~ I've had this silly au buzzing in my brain for a couple days now so it's nice to get it on paper even a lil bit!

new metric for media literacy for film bros is if they understand the barbie movie.

the kens are first presented as accessories to their barbies and it's pointed out loud that they don't even have places to stay in barbieland. one of the barbies straight up asks "wait, where do the kens stay?". they're just arm candy made to look pretty and cool while the barbies run their world.

but that's fucked up!!! the film presents it as fucked up! that's why ken screams "YOU FAILED ME!" and why he is insecure in the first place because he wanted to be respected and seen as a person, not someone who only exists in relation to someone else. should he have done what he did? no!!! that's why it's part of the conflict! the root of both of their breakdowns was in their society in that the barbies are supposed to be perfect and the kens exist in relation to them! it's barbie and ken. he was a footnote. that's why barbie apologizes to him in the end and tells him he can be himself. she doesn't have to exist by some set of rules and neither does he! it's barbie and it's ken! sure, the resolution to the whole barbieland issue wasn't perfect, BUT KEN'S WHOLE ARC IS ABOUT HOW THEIR WORLD FAILED MEN. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS MOVIE WAS 'WOMEN GOOD MAN BAD'. WHAT ABOUT THE NUANCE

It's cynically ironic how trans people are on the one hand expected to trace their transness back to their childhood in order to be taken seriously, while we're on the other hand repeatedly told that children are supposedly "too young" to think about such matters.

okay but i feel like one of the most wholesome things about enola and tweksbury’s dynamic is:

they feel like they’ve been abandoned by everyone before they find each other. in every way that counts, they’re alone. but then they find each other. they choose each other. they keep coming back for each other.

and when tweksbury is forced to escape at enola’s expense, he tells her i don’t want to leave you. not because it will change things. but because he needs her to know that he’s not abandoning her.

there is something so gentle about their friendship that just guts me.

You know that part where the movie was super realistic and displayed obvious attraction between enola and tweksbury that was *chefs kiss* but wasn’t rushed with a misplaced kiss???????

i LOVE that part SOO much bc it has the potential to lead into TREMENDOUS pining <3

My headcanon is that whenever Detective Enola goes on cases, she looks for the most OBSURE fucking plant/flower in the area, then sends it to Tweksbury with a ciphered note <3

I know a couple people who have written true crime books and several people irl have suggested that I write a book about [mass murderer] because I'm a veritable walking encyclopedia of knowledge about him and somehow there has never been a (non self-published) book about him
