GOOGLE SITES
To create a website to showcase my work I created this year I used Google sites. I am so happy with the layout I have done and I feel like it came out better than I thought. I decided to put my logo first so that it would have been the main thing to show off the branding and make the website flow. I added some graphic edits to break up the site and added in my final outcomes. At the bottom I used flip snack to create a flip book of my final festival program. Using Google sites was very easy to use and you can easily drag and drop in images. You can embed links or paste normal links in so it is very simple. I added some text at the bottom to summarise the website and tie it all together. At the bottom I added some brushes of my photos to end the first page of the site. On the second page I put my portfolio in t he same order as my final portfolio. I think this looks very neat and professional and I am very happy with how it turned out.

TARGET AUDIENCE
What is your product / idea within your project? For example….a magazine, brand, campaign, fashion?
My project idea was to create a festival that would take place post Covid-19. My main thought process was to get everyone excited for when the world goes back to normal and encourage people to push boundaries and come out of they comfort zone as the Coronavirus Pandemic has really taught the nation how life is too short.
If you don’t have a ‘product’ - who do you think your outcomes would attract?
I think my outcomes would attract the people who are most fed up about the current situation and people with positive mindsets who are looking forward to have some normality back. I also think my outcomes would attract artists in the music industry as they have massively lost to and haven't been able to do any live performances so they may be interested in playing at a new festival. the festival could attract people like graphic designers, set designers and eve stylists as these are key things for a festival to have when organising it.
Who do you think your target audience may be? This can be a broad statement. Explain why and how this target audience is appropriate?
My target audience is for any gender aged 16-25. The reason why the is the specific target audience is because festivals are for absolutely any gender or any person. I actually believe that the target audience doesn't really need to be a specific age because anyone can go to them and there are different types of festivals that cater for different music tastes and genres. However, my festival in particular, the age range is from 16-25 because generally this type of music is listened to by the younger generation and these genres are seen a lot on social media.

WEEK 10 REFLECTION
This week I have managed to finalise all of my final outcomes fully. I have completely finished my program and I have added the pages into magazine mock ups so you can visually see how it would look if it was actually printed off professionally. I have continued to develop research which supports my work further and that will help me to develop my work. Next week I will be starting to create my google site where I will be laying out my best work onto a website format. I need to prepare for this by finding work that I would like to add on to this. I am going to mainly use work from this project as I am very proud of it and I think personally it is my best work. I also need to go back and find my portfolio pages so I can also add these to the site.

V FESTIVAL
I wanted to research into V festival as it is now discontinued. I wanted to take a chance to research into why they ended the festival and the impacts that could possibly effect other festivals. This is something which is good to take into consideration when creating a new festival as festivals are normally yearly events and you want what's best for the organisation to keep it going as long as possible. I had a look at the rebranding the festival did and how they change their type and poster layouts. I found a sheet of the alphabet and what each letter looked like in their new type. This is like branding guidelines which I did for my own festival so it was nice to see the behind the scenes of another festival so I can reflect and see if my personal work is up to scratch. I really like the stage design and how it all flows nicely with their branding. This inspires me on how I can lay out any branding when I start to create my google site.
V Festival, often referred to as V Fest or simply V, is an annual music festival held in the United Kingdom during the third weekend in August. The event was held at two parks simultaneously which shared the same bill; artists performed at one location on Saturday and then swapped on Sunday. The sites were located at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in South Staffordshire. In 2017, the final year of this format, the capacity of each site was 90,000. Richard Branson announced on 30 October 2017 that V Festival would be discontinued but that a new festival would replace it. In 2018, a new festival called "Rize" was held in on the same weekend as the "V Festival" but only at Hylands Park. However, on 5 August 2020, it was announced that the "V Festival" was to return to Hylands Park, without an audience (due to the COVID-19 pandemic), later that month. The "V" represented the Virgin Group, with the event being sponsored by Virgin Media. It was originally televised by Channel 4 from 1997 to 2013, predominantly on their sister channel 4 Music, with the exception of the 2003 event with ITV in charge. It was then televised by MTV from 2014 to 2015, and the 2016 edition of the festival was televised by Channel 5. ITV returned to televising the V Festival upon its return in 2020, with cove rage hosted by Joel Dommett and Maya Jama. he idea for V came in 1996 when Pulp's front man Jarvis Cocker said that he would love to play two outdoor venues in two days. Pulp's promoters got together and came up with the idea of putting the gig into Victoria Park Warrington and Hylands Park Chelmsford giving fans in both the North and South a chance to see the band. Then came the idea of adding more bands to the bill, putting on a second stage and letting people camp for the weekend. In the end Victoria Park was just too small for three stages and camping. So in August 1996 there was one day of artists in Victoria Park and two days at Hylands Park with camping. The northern leg of V97 was switched to Temple Newsam, Leeds to provide room for camping and three stages. In 1999 the Northern leg of the festival was moved to Weston Park in Staffordshire, and has remained there since.Previously it had been held at Temple Newsam in Leeds, before being replaced by Carling's Leeds Festival. Originally, the festival took the name of the current year, with the first festival being named "V96". Since 2003 it has been known as simply the V Festival. Its weekend format, low queuing times and professional organisation have given it a loyal audience. The festival sold out in record time in 2006.Mel C, Dido, and N.E.R.D. have all performed at the festival, and both Razorlight and Faithless performed in 2006. V showcases a mix of British and international musicians, from up-and-coming bands such as Coldplay in 2000 and the Kaiser Chiefs in 2003 and 2008, and glam rockers El Presidente in 2005, to veteran crooner Tony Christie. Girls Aloud also performed at the 2006 show, and received rave reviews for their performance. V97 was the first V Festival to be webcast. This was audio-only, and had about 30,000 unique listeners.

PROGRAMME MOCK UPS
To create these mockups I took the images from my indesign file and pasted them into some mock up templates of a magazine. I am really happy with how this looks and it is much better to see it like this as it would be if it was actually printed rather than it in the indesign file. It was very simple to do as I create mock ups white often so I already knew what I was doing. I have screens hotted and added the steps to the bottom of this post.

LOOK-BOOK DESIGN
For this research task I wanted to create a mood-board of some cookbook layouts and design that I found on Pinterest. The reason why I wanted to get some examples of this as I am creating my own festival programme as a final outcome and I wanted to get some inspiration. I want to have a lot go graphics in my programme as it fits my theme well and I am going to incorporate some photography in there too. I really like the use of white space in the examples down below as you don't always have to fill the whole entire page. This is nothing I am going to keep in mind and I am going to be very careful with how I am laying things out. I love the type in the examples below and I am going to make sure I am creative with the type I am using in my own. I love how a lot of the writing is white and I want to do similar as it looks nice over the brighter photos and graphics.

GIF DEVELOPMENT
For another one if my final outcomes I decided to create two GIFs as I have seen a lot of festivals doing this for advertisement and I think it looks really cool. I wanted to keep the GIFs quite simple so I created one with my line up and one with the location and date of the festival. To create my GIF I used Photoshop and I kept referring back to my colour pallet and the illustrations in my logo. In the GIF with my line up I added my logo to the top and pasted the line up underneath it similar to my poster. I then drew some clouds at the top with the graphics tablet and added some hearts around the line u using the red colour of  my pallet. I then saved. this as frame one. Once I had done this I changed the logo to a stroke only text and drew some lighting bolts around the clouds. I also redrew the hearts in a pink colour so that they would flash from pink to red when the GIF was created. I then saved this as frame to and made sure both my frames were 10 x 10 jpegs. I opened up my first frame in Photoshop and pasted the other on top of this. I went to window then timeline and selected carted animation. I pressed make frames from layers and the played around with the timing. Once all of tis was complete I changed the resolution to 150 and exported it as a web documents. I used all of these same steps when creating my second GIF but I had a lot more frames as I wanted the letters of the date to pop up one after the other. I am happy with my outcomes and they match really well with my posters and the mock ups. I will be using these GIFs as part of my final outcome and I may even make some pattern GIFs to add to my stage design.

FESTIVAL GIFS
For one of my research tasks this week I have decided to find some festival GIFs to get inspiration from as I would like to make my own. I found a range of GIFs that show the lineups or the dates of the festivals. I really love the Shambala GIF as the background changes and the patterns move around. I think this is what I would like to do in the background of my GIF but using the illustrations from my branding. I also really love the sundown one where it flashes the location and date of the festival. I could do one like this alongside the other GIF so I have a few to use for my final outcomes. The line ups are cool  when they flash up leaving a few of the artists still on the screen. However I don't like these as much so I am definitely going to opt to making one similar to the others.

WEEK 9 REFLECTION
During week 9, I have managed to develop my final outcomes much further. I did another photoshoot and used these for some edits I created. I also managed to start creating my festival programme on Indesign. I am very happy with how I have progressed this week and I think I am prepared for the next couple of weeks for this project. Next week I wold like to create a few more mock ups and I would like to make a gIF to push my work further. I also need to think about developing my programme more as I haven't added much to it yet.

SHOOT EDIT
Following on from my shoot this week I chose to create some edits that I can use I my festival programme. I took inspiration from some edits on Maggie Lindermanns website that I researched a while back. To create these edits I chose some images from my shoot this week and opened them up on Photoshop. I used the quick selection tool to cut out my model from one of the images. I then pasted this into a blank a4 page and made it bigger. When I had done this I inverted it and played around with the colour range. I then changed the hues and saturation to get the colours exactly how I wanted them. I then used the rectangular marquee tool to cut out squares of a few images and used the threshold tool. After this I looked out some of the rgb in the colours to get one specific colour. I lined these all up how I wanted and then added a paper texture to the background. I am really happy with these outcomes. It took a while to manage to work out how the edits were created in the research pictures but we easily resolved the problem. I will be sing these in my final outcomes in my festival programme.

ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE
I decided to research into the Rolling Stone magazine as I a making a festival programme with my work to promote my festival, Rapture. I really like the front and back covers of these magazines and it has really inspired me with my own.I like how the front covers are solo images as this is something I want to do when making my programme. The typography is really cool so I want to make sure I am being cautious when choosing a font as it is quite a big part o a front cover. The magazine includes music so obviously this is perfect for what I am doing as I am focusing on the music industry and festivals. My work also has a contextual element to it and this links to the Rolling Stone magazine as it also includes pop culture and politics. I could link this to the pandemic and how politics and the government have had an impact on the music industry.
Rolling Stone is an American monthly magazine that focuses on music, politics, and popular culture. It was founded in San Francisco, California, in 1967 by Jann Wenner, and the music critic Ralph J. Gleason. It was first known for its coverage of rock music and for political reporting by Hunter S. Thompson. In the 1990s, the magazine broadened and shifted its focus to a younger readership interested in youth-oriented television shows, film actors, and popular music. It has since returned to its traditional mix of content, including music, entertainment, and politics. The first magazine was released in 1967 and featured John Lennon on the cover and was published every two weeks. It is known for provocative photography and its cover photos, featuring musicians, politicians, athletes, and actors. In addition to its print version in the United States, it publishes content through Rollingstone.com and numerous international editions. Penske Media Corporation is the current owner of Rolling Stone, purchasing 51 percent of the magazine in 2017 and the remaining 49 percent in 2019. Rolling Stone's maintains a website where it shares similar content to its print publication. The site at one time had an extensive message-board forum. By the late 1990s, this had developed into a thriving community, with many regular members and contributors worldwide. However, the site was also plagued with numerous Internet trolls and malicious code-hackers, who vandalised the forum substantially. The magazine abruptly deleted the forum in May 2004, then began a new, much more limited message board community on their site in late 2005, only to remove it again in 2006. In March 2008, the website started a new message board section once again, then deleted it in April 2010.Rolling Stone devotes one of its table of contents pages to promoting material currently appearing on its website, listing detailed links to the items. On April 19, 2010, the website underwent a redesign and began featuring the complete archives of Rolling Stone. The archive was first launched under a for-pay model, but has since transitioned to a free-with-print-subscription model. In the spring of 2012, Rolling Stone launched a federated search feature which searches both the website and the archive. The website has become an interactive source of biographical information on music artists in addition to historical rankings from the magazine. Users can cross-reference lists and they are also provided with historical insights. For example, one group that is listed on both Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time is Toots and the Maytals, with biographical details from Rolling Stone that explain how Toots and the Maytals are responsible for coining the term "reggae" in their song "Do the Reggay". For biographical information on all artists, the website contains a directory listed alphabetically.

FESTIVAL STYLING
To get some inspiration for my shoots and festival program, I wanted to research into some festival styling. I found some images on Pinterest and created a mood board of the styles I liked. Most of the image is chose are very vintage looking as they involve a lot of 90′s fashion. I am very into the older styles instead of the model day festival wear as it is a bit too bold for me as I prefer more low key outfits. Most festival wear nowadays consists of three piece sets made from swimming material with lots of neon colours and glitter. This does link to the euphoric trend but I would much rather go down the route of the vintage wear and the idea of psychedelia.
In the early days of festival fashion, there was no shortage of iconic looks to choose from. The most notable has to be the ‘flower power’ Hippy movement, which still has a home to this day. Look no further than the outfits Vanessa Hudgens rocks at Coachella, keeping the 60s style in the spotlight. The 60s may have opened the door to fashion as an expression of politics and genre connection, but the 1970s took things to a whole new level with some of the most recognisable subcultures of all time finding their iconic look. The 80s was the era that embraced the weird and wonderful. Think theatrical statement outfits and a new take on period fashion that formed the New Romantic style, pushing boundaries and challenging gender norms. Meanwhile, Rave culture inspired a look that would become widespread throughout the following decade, renowned for baggy, colourful and visually stimulating style. The 90s was a defining decade for music and fashion on both sides of the Atlantic. Grunge was taking over the US and Britpop fever swept through the UK. It was the decade that also welcomed Hip-Hop and its iconic fashion style to the mainstream, people couldn’t get enough of those oversized sports jerseys, bomber jackets and branded tracksuits. Festival fashion went through quite a lot of change in the 2000s and 2010s yet the amount of larger and core subcultures have declined. Now, people are feeling a lot more liberated and open to rejecting specific labels. Festivals in the 2000s saw people edge towards a more glam look, think Kate Moss at Glastonbury in chic mini dresses and leathers. The decade also saw the rise of equally iconic yet totally different trends including Grime (bringing elements of high fashion to the Hip-Hop style) and the rise of Emo culture, famed for swooping fringes and post-goth looks.

GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL
I chose to research Glastonbury as I am researching a lot of festivals that take place in the UK and abroad. I picked Glastonbury as it is a very popular and high demand festival that people have to prepare just to even get a ticket. I really like the marketing for Glastonbury festival and the way they set things out. The line up posters they have are really cool and they incorporate many colours which is what I want to do when doing the marketing for my festival,. They have cool wrist-bands and the merchandise which I want to create for my festival. I have already made sone mock ups for things like this but I could make some more to broaden my final outcome. I am inspired by the line ups they have previously had as they have had really big names at their festival. This is what I took on board when creating my own line up as I want it to be something big for people to look forward to after covid 19 if this was an actual festival that was taking place.
Glastonbury Festival (formally Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts) is a five-day festival of contemporary performing arts that takes place in Pilton, Somerset, in England. In addition to contemporary music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and other arts. Leading pop and rock artists have headlined, alongside thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas. Films and albums recorded at Glastonbury have been released, and the festival receives extensive television and newspaper coverage. Glastonbury is attended by around 200,000 people, requiring extensive infrastructure in terms of security, transport, water, and electricity supply. The majority of staff are volunteers, helping the festival to raise millions of pounds for charity organisations. Regarded as a major event in British culture, the festival is inspired by the ethos of the hippie, counterculture, and free festival movements. It retains vestiges of these traditions, such as the Green Fields area, which includes sections known as the Green Futures and Healing Field. After the 1970s, the festival took place almost every year and grew in size, with the number of attendees sometimes being swollen by gatecrashers. Michael Eavishosted the first festival, then called Pilton Festival, after seeing an open-air Led Zeppelin concert at the 1970 Bath Festival of Blues and Progressive Music. The festival's record crowd is 300,000 people, set at the 1994 festival, when headliners the Levellers performed a set on The Pyramid Stage. Glastonbury Festival was held intermittently from 1970 until 1981. Since then, it has been held most years, except for "fallow years" taken mostly at five-year intervals, intended to give the land, local population, and organisers a break. 2018 was a "fallow year" and the following festival took place from 26 – 30 June 2019. Glastonbury has had two consecutive "fallow years" since the last festival took place in 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2000 saw a new Pyramid Stage introduced as well as new features such as The Glade and The Left Field. The festival was headlined by Chemical Brothers, Travis and David Bowie who played 30 years after his first appearance. The Pyramid Stage also hosted an unusual event on the Saturday morning, with the wedding of two festival-goers, who had written to the organisers asking for permission to get married there, taking place and conducted by actor Keith Allen in front of a small group of friends and any other festival-goers who still happened to be awake. This year also saw an estimated 250,000 people attend the festival (only 100,000 tickets were sold) due to gatecrashers. This led to public safety concerns and the local District Councilrefused any further licences until the problem was solved. The organisers took 2001 off to devise anti-gatecrashing measures and secure the future of the festival, after the Roskilde Festival 2000 accident (though this was also a scheduled break, one which took place every five years from 1991, the year after the battle of Yeoman's Bridge, until the 2012 Olympics extended the five-year sequence from the planned 2011 rest year). It was at this point that the Mean Fiddler Organisation was invited to help, which was seen by some as a "sell-out" to corporate culture. In 2002, the festival returned after its planned fallow year, with the controversial Mean Fiddler now handling the logistics and security — especially installing a substantial surrounding fence (dubbed the "superfence") that reduced numbers to the levels of a decade earlier. The lower attendance led to a much more relaxed atmosphere and massively reduced crime levels compared to previous years. There were some incidents outside the fence involving frustrated individuals who arrived at the festival assuming they would be able to simply jump the fence and not pay for the music and performances, but despite this the event was hailed as a great success by the media companies that had taken an interest in the festival. 2002 also saw Coldplay headline the Pyramid Stage for the first time while the show was closed by a set from Rod Stewart on the Sunday night. Pennard Hill, 2004,There were some criticisms of the 2002 festival that it lacked atmosphere, because of the reduced number of people, which reflected the smaller numbers jumping the fence. The number of tickets was increased to 150,000 for 2003 which sold out within one day of going on sale, in marked contrast to the two months it took to sell 140,000 in 2002. It was also the first year that tickets sold out before the full line-up was announced. This was also the year Radiohead returned to headline the Pyramid Stage. Revenue raised for good causes from ticket and commercial licence sales topped £1 million, half of which went to Oxfam, Greenpeace and Water Aid.

FINAL SHOOT OUTCOMES
For my shoot I took inspiration from the mood board I created in my previous blog post. I went outside for this shoot as I wanted to use the grass as festivals are normally held in a huge field. I wanted to replicate a festival scene so I ca add these images into my festival programme. I styled my model in a 90′s inspired outfit as I think this is a style we will be seeing more in festivals to come as it has really come back into fashion. I asked my model to bring in an old camera to use as a prop as I have seen many things on social media of people planning to bring these into festivals to take some vintage style images. I was quite lucky with the lighting as it was very sunny when I took these pictures so I chose to use the auto setting as it worked much better than when I tried the manual setting. I edited these photos on Lightroom instead of photoshop as I think it is much more effective snd you can copy and paste your first edit on to all the images so they all look the same. I turned up the saturation in the green as I wanted to make the grass look very bright and vibrant as I think it links more to the idea of euphoria. I played around with the brightness and contrast to make it perfect and then I added some sharpness to make the image look clearer. I am happy with my outcomes and I a going to continue to develop these by editing them suing using the posterise tool and maybe even use half tone.

SHOOT PLAN
For my shoot this week I would love to incorporate some outdoors into my photography. A lot of my photography has been done in the studio and I wanted to take a step away from this in this weeks shoot. I want to use the grass and have my model sit on it. This links back to my theme of festivals as they are normally always set on large fields. I want my model to wear some cool sunglasses and dress as if they were at a festival in the 90s. I also would like to use an old camera as a prop for this to make it look even more 90′s inspired.

WEEK 8 REFLECTION
During week 8, I have been able to create a variety of outcomes that support my final pieces. I managed to get some more photography in which I will be able to use in my final programme. I have finalised my festival posters  and have developed some mock ups for the branding of the festivals. These were a part of my final outcomes so I am glad to have finished them when I did so I have plenty of time to create my programme. Next week I would like to get some more imagery so I can edit them using the half tones on Photoshop. I need to make sure I am still documenting everything and planning for shoots and other practicals.
