Negatives to positives
Recently, it’s been harder than usual to keep positive. Since there hasn’t been much to look forward to, my photographer, Abdi, and I wanted to create our own fun, and put together a shoot that was a little less conventional. We shot two different outfits at in the Manchester town centre. Using the quirky background and outfits as inspiration we took the opportunity to play about. I’m pretty…

21 june
We’re now a few months in to our third lockdown and we have received some news that seemed to lift the hearts of a lot of people – myself included. A date when things could possibly go back to normal has been announced and people online have been raving about the things they’re going to be doing on 21st of June. But for now here are some looks that I’ve been wearing to go on my daily…

How to make the most out of your wardrobe
Happy new year to everyone. Though we’re still all going through a tough time with Covid still lurking, I’ve put together something to uplift you all and possibly change your outlook on fashion. Since I’ve been a blogger people’s perception of the industry has seemed to change. Fast fashion has become the norm, with people constantly buying the new pieces. As nice as it is to always be…

The past few months have been stressful. As a person who is typically very active, the lockdown measures that came along with the COVID-19 pandemic haven’t been easy to live with. But, as restrictions started to ease, I was able to get back to work and things are brightening up. At least for now…
Though it’s been good to get back into the swing of things, it’s also nice to get some time off. Last week I had three days off and decided to head into the city. Here are some of the highlights.
Day 1 – Shopping
I took the chance to go into town for some retail therapy. As cliche as it might sound, I love to shop and there are a lot of great place to around Manchester to explore. This time, I decided to stick to the stores on and around our main high street – Market Street.
Shirt : ASOS
T-shirt : ALLSAINTS
Trousers : ASOS
Shoes : NIKE
Day 2 – Cinema
The pandemic has limited what we’ve all been able to do. But with cinemas now open, I decided to watch Tenet at Everyman. It’s a great space and the film was even better. Highly recommend!
Shirt : ASOS
Jeans : TOPMAN
Belt : Balenciaga
Rings : ASOS
Day 3 – Drinks, Food, and Views
By the final day of my holiday, I was ready for a chilled afternoon with some light food and drinks. 20 Stories was the perfect location to finish off the week. With a great vibe and stunning views of the city, it’s no wonder it’s such a well-visited spot.

If we don’t go into another lockdown, hopefully I can take you on another trip.

What does comfort mean to you?
Striking a balance between being stylish and comfortable can be difficult, and sometimes a tracksuit can be hard to resist.
Here are some of the fits I wore last weekend which throw together easy-to-wear staples with dressier outerwear.

How do you make the most of a blank canvas?
With the opportunity to collaborate again, Abdi (@whichabdi) and I set ourselves the challenge of creating a few images against a plain backdrop. We’ve worked together on a few other shoots (which you can view here). Let us know what you think of this one?.

There’s nothing wrong with a little bit of colour in the winter. That’s why I teamed this Collusion Studios jumper with my Yeezy 700’s.

But a beige and lime green jumper might be pushing it a bit too far for some. So, to get a bit of brightness into your winter wardrobe you could consider a top like this one that adds a little bit of colour to a look in measured doses.

I love Allsaints for its quality and aesthetic and the crew neck jumper shown here is simple enough to work for a few different looks and will keep you warm on a miserable winter morning.

If my love for the brand wasn’t already obvious, here’s another Allsaints piece for you. This woollen scarf has been my saviour on the days when throwing on jacket just hasn’t been enough (but here are some of the jackets I’ve been wearing in recent months).

Whether it’s a long woollen trench coat or a light-weight denim jacket, we all have our defences against the winter weather. This time around I’ve put together a few looks which make the most of the typical coats and jackets we all have stashed away at the back of our wardrobes (and this shoot was one of my favourites to date!).
First up is a North Face Nuptse jacket. I don’t own many North Face pieces but I’ve always been a fan of their puffer jackets (this jacket was a limited edition piece so I’ve linked something similar here). Styling this bright winter piece was an interesting challenge but I managed to pull the look together with an Allsaints over-shirt and black trousers.
For the second look, I threw a Canada Goose jacket over an Allsaint tracksuit. It was all about comfort and the Canada Goose jacket definitely delivered it.

What are your winter staples?

We’re fast approaching my favourite season for fashion — winter. Though the cold weather is miserable, it calls for layers upon layers, and as a lover of fashion what could be better?
The tricky thing at the moment is that the weather isn’t consistent in the UK. Trying to predict whether it will be cold, warm, raining or frosty is a losing game, so what we all need is a solution to combat this and prepare for what is probably going to be one of the coldest winters we’ve had for awhile with all this crazy weather.
‘Buying smart’ could be the solution. What I mean by this is getting your hands on those staple pieces which can be adapted for multiple outfits; for example ones that pop into my mind immediately would be:
A winter coat
Turtlenecks
Sweatshirts
Scarves
These four items are pretty much winter essentials and any outfit can be built around them. I’ve styled two outfits here which can be adapted so you can make the most of your winter wardrobe (though I’ll show you how in my next post).
Outfit 1: The One for Occasions
For those evening meals and parties that you have to attend, having a few go to’s is always the way forward. Smart cropped pants, a black turtleneck, blazer and belt can work for any of those dressy occasions you’re going to. What’s great is that all these items can be styled in more casual ways.
Outfit 2: The One for the Warmer Days
Winter isn’t always about black ice and snow, some days aren’t too bad. Oversized shirts and jeans are the to go when the weather is better than usual. Layering underneath the shirt can also work for those days when it’s a bit colder.

Look out for my next post where I’ll use these piece for different looks.

As you guys may know I recently started styling and have continued to peruse this path as it is something I enjoy alongside blogging.
Currently I am away in the Middle East (Dubai) interning with an architectural firm to increase my degree based skills. However, before I left, I managed to squeeze one last photoshoot in with a new face from Jadoremodels; @twigz01.
For this shoot I got to work with some of my favourite tones; pastels and a great photographer who I have done work with in the past (@shayroti).
Going forwards from here I want to increase the amount of people that I am styling because it will help me keep up with fashion. Also, it offers another way to present my ideas and it demonstrates how the advise I’m trying to provide you guys with can turn out.
As always styling and meeting new people is always fun and it is also nice to see what you had initially envisioned come to life.

As shopaholics, we want to get the most out of the money we spend. What I mean by this is buying an item that has diversity. Diversity in the sense that it can slot into existing outfits and have its own effectiveness.
As a stylist, when I purchase piece I either buy an entire outfit or try to visualise how the item I’m buying will fit in with pieces that I already own which makes the shopping process a whole a lot easier.
In this blog, I’m basically showing you guys how a white polo-neck shirt can become formal and informal by switching up a few pieces within an outfit.
THE FORMAL LOOK
As we’ve been experience nice weather the past few weeks picking a jacket to complement an outfit has been a real struggle. Especially after everything in your wardrobes is probably woolly and extra warm because it was so cold not to long ago (typical of English weather). However, light weight trench coats are a great buy as they don’t keep you to warm and if they need to be taken off they aren’t a pain to carry or even place over your shoulders as I have worn it in the following pictures. To accompany the polo and trench I added another light weight item some 3/4 length woven trousers and finished with some simple Gucci sliders.
THE CASUAL LOOK
The second look is a much more casual look that everyone can relate to and will definitely have one or more of the pieces somewhere within your wardrobe. A gilet and a pair of blue jeans. It couldn’t be any more simple but is another clean way of showing off the polo shirt and overcoming the heat.
How to style around a preferred piece As shopaholics, we want to get the most out of the money we spend. What I mean by this is buying an item that has diversity.

Hello again people! I’ve got some rather interesting news that I’m excited to share with you guys. Since I started ‘ISOYU’ I have always been thinking about ways to improve the content I share with you guys and how I can improve myself as a fashion blogger. We’re coming to the 2nd anniversary of ISOYU and I’ve learnt that working along side other people can really add an extra edge to your work. Because of this observation I will be working more closely with the photographer @Kuicphotos and the videographer @nikkohunt as their personal stylist. Styling is a field that I have wanted to get into for some time now but haven’t had all the necessary means. With this newly found trio-ship we will all be able to progress within our given fields.
Last week I hosted my first styling shoot at Beehivestudios with the model Charisha (@Charishaden). The shoot was styled by the 1950/60’s corduroy trend which has become a very dominant item in this years spring fashion.
I plan to make styling a big part of what I do from now on and will be posting a lot of the styled shoots on my Instagram along with the hashtag ‘#isostylish’ if you to follow up on styling post and also get involved to show me what styling flare you guys have!

Since I will be working along side videographers more I will try do include a video which give an overall summary of what the day was like and also it will show what movement the pieces of clothing offer.

For those of you who don’t know about Grenada, it is a small Caribbean island with unrivalled scenery and beauty. For those of you who do know about Grenada, this will be a small reminder of all of its qualities. My mother’s side of my family are Grenadian and as a family we often visit the island to see family and for holiday purposes. I think this last trip that I went on must be around my 5th time visiting the island and it was probably my shortest stay. I was only there for ten days, whereas we normally go for around a month because there is so much to take in and enjoy.
Because it was such a short stay I only went to the beach once would you believe! However, Grand Anse is definitely one of, if not my favourite beach in Grenada. The blueness of the ocean contrasting with all the greenery within the distance really is a idyllic view which takes a few minutes to comprehend.

Before I went on my trip I made the effort of contacting creatives in the Caribbean to broaden my content as a blogger. Spending time with people who live in Grenada opened my eyes to opportunities I wouldn’t have been able to achieve on my own. I began to explore parts of the island that I wouldn’t have ventured to without their aid. Terel (@terelmphotograpghy) and Kered (@keredclement) organised and took me around the island, providing me with all these amazing visuals that I can now share with you guys.
If you ever get the chance, visiting a Caribbean island should be number one on your list! You won’t regret it. Overall it was a really good get away from studies and the extremely cold weather we’ve been experiencing! And on top of that, I got to take wonderful pictures under the sun which I’m now sharing with you all!
Grenada, The Isle of Spice For those of you who don’t know about Grenada, it is a small Caribbean island with unrivalled scenery and beauty.

We’re back with another collaboration with some new faces! Let’s introduce you to the new members of the Isoyu family, we’ll start off with Ana. Ana (@span.dex) was the female model in this week’s shoot and she was styled by myself for our yellow themed shoot!

The next two members are two of the most energetic photographers/videographers that I have met; Nikko and Fareez. Fareez (@Kuicphotography) was the photographer for this shoot and we share some common passions for fashion and also architecture. Nikko (@Nikkohunt) was the videographer and he has a great eye for capturing visuals I will include the video he made down below make sure you watch it as it’s one of my favourite videos I’ve featured in to date! He’s got some serious talent.
The weather wasn’t the best to shoot in but we had to make do and have produced some pretty impressive work if I do say so myself.
You guys should know by now I love a bit of colour in my outfits and instead of restricting yourself to the typical colours of winter fashion, it’s always good to push your boundaries (however there is nothing wrong with sticking to what you know best).

Not for him, not for her (part 3) We’re back with another collaboration with some new faces! Let’s introduce you to the new members of the Isoyu family, we’ll start off with Ana.

Cold, cold, cold; freezing cold. Winter is upon us! That means layers on layers, jumpers, sweaters, hats and scarfs!
I’ve got a few winter looks which are in process for you guys, just trying to find the right balance between the books and blogs!
Today’s looks is simple and can be easily replicated by shopping in any type of retail store whether that be high street or designer shops.
I’ve had this wool trench coat in my wardrobe for a year now and it didn’t get much love! But they’re a staple winter piece which can complete any winter look. So if you don’t already own one you know what your next purchase should be! Maybe start of with a simpler colour like black or grey so it has more everyday use because it seems like we’re in for a cold few weeks!

Winter looks Cold, cold, cold; freezing cold. Winter is upon us! That means layers on layers, jumpers, sweaters, hats and scarfs!

What a hectic week it’s been! Shooting from Monday to Friday with @provocateur.apparel, @urbanxroots and @resurrection_liverpool; exhausted isn’t the word.
This was my first time experiencing life as a full time model. You’d think standing in front of a camera all day wouldn’t be a struggle but believe me it’s harder than you think! However, it was a great insight into the sort of lifestyle I wish to lead with the steady progression of my blog.
This weeks post is a little different to how I normally go about my collaborations. I was inspired by @blvcked0pe fila and borg fit and believed I could recreate it in a similar fashion. However, this collaboration didn’t actually take place, which probably makes you wonder how it’s a collaboration. The main point of Not for him not for her is to show males and females different possibilities of how they can each style their clothing in a similar way, so if that is achieved it can be classed as a collaboration.
WHAT I WORE
As this outfit was a recreation sourcing the items or ones similar to them was my task. The main tracksuit was from Urban Outfitters and is an Urban Outfitters exclusive so try to get your hands on it fast because it is likely to sell out quick! The jacket was from ASOS and is an oversized Borg coat (extremely comfortable and warm, a winter essential) and the fisherman’s beanie I wore is also an ASOS piece. Finally the last piece of my outfit were the gucci sliders, which were slightly different to the Supreme custom vans worn by @blvckd0pe. However, I did manage to include some Supreme into my outfit with the Supreme CashCannon; a fun accessory.
Not for him, not for her (part 2) What a hectic week it’s been! Shooting from Monday to Friday with @provocateur.apparel, @urbanxroots and…

This weeks post is another ‘Not for him, Not for her post’ – fashion without boundaries. In the world of fashion there is a lot of demand for outfits that both men and women can wear. Through this serious of blogs I will try to explore this.
For this collaboration I worked with lifestyle blogger, Kristina (IG: @Kristinavicotriad). The reason it’s so enjoyable working with other bloggers is you may learn a new way to interpret fashion which may be beneficial to help you move forwards in the world of fashion.
We decided to experiment with jumpers which are from Topman and as you can see gender hasn’t effected how the jumpers look in any way shape or form.

Not for him, Not for her This weeks post is another 'Not for him, Not for her post' - fashion without boundaries. In the world of fashion there is a lot of demand for outfits that both men and women can wear.
