Hi all, very delinquent other mod here from several years back. I went through all the messages I can still access, and added several new books, tv shows, plays/musicals, video games, and youtubers.

the online show 't@gged' by go90 has a character that self-harms (quite graphic), and shows her looking at photos of self-harm on her phone, as well as taking pictures of her own self-harm and uploading them to social media. there's also a scene in s1ep3 where her self-harm photos are broadcast on the classroom computers.

anime/visual novel series Grisaia no Kajitsu/Le Fruit de la Grisaia: character Michiru Matsushima's arc has her unsuccessfully attempting suicide, expressing suicidal thoughts, and remembering a friend she lost to suicide years ago

Suicide theme through out due to the 2 characters are thinking of suicide, and 1 of them does it. the main character *der tod* encourages the characters to complete the suicide. i think there are 5-6 suicide attempt/encouragement/thoughts. Elisabeth Das Musical, year is irrelevant due to the same plot line and theme

youtuber daniel howell has mentioned a couple of times that he attempted suicide when he was younger. he talks about it for a few minutes in "basically i'm gay" (nearing the end of the middle of the video iirc) and he also mentions it in his book "you will get through this night", where his attempt is mentioned a few times

the very first song in the musical 'hamilton' has a mention of suicide with someone miming the act onstage, it's brief but could be triggering. also suicide is a big part of the plot of the film 'monsieur lazhar'. the body of a suicide victim is seen briefly at the very beginning, the suicide is discussed graphically throughout, and at one point a young child shows a photograph of the (living) victim with a noose drawn around her neck.

In the horror movie "city of the living dead" (Alternative title "gates of hell") there is a graphic suïcide (on screen) in the beginning of the movie, the dead body is multiple times seen trough the movie in the minds of other characters (but shown in screen)

In the movie Dr Cabbie (2014) a character attempts suicide on screen and later successfully commits suicide also on screen

In the theatre play "A Doll's House" (a.k.a. "A Doll House", original Norwegian title "Et dukkehjem"), the main character contemplates suicide throughout the second and third acts. She never goes through with it, but does try to threaten another character with the possibility in the second act.

there is a suicide as a pretty central part of the musical Dear Evan Hansen, with a character committing suicide offscreen early in the musical, and mentions of the main character's suicide attempt before the musical begins.

just wanted to add, the musical "Be More Chill" has references to self harm/suicide in the song "I Love Play Rehearsal" and "The Squip Song," and one character tells the other "everything about you makes me want to die" and makes him repeat the phrase in the songs be more chill pt1 and pt2. in the musical "dear evan hansen" the plot is centered around the suicide of a character early on and deals with suicidal ideation/attempts, but it's overall message is suicide prevention. hope this helps

in the musical "be more chill" from 2015 (based on the book of the same name from 2004, i'm unaware if this scene is in the book), there's a line in the song "micheal in the bathroom" (iirc it's near the middle of the musical) where micheal sings "[...] or wish i offed myself instead, wish i was never born"

In the BBC show Sherlock, series 4, episode 2, there is a self harm and a suicide reference about 15 minutes in. Nothing is shown, it is just mentioned.
