IT Operations Management for Small Business

ITOM is the process and framework for managing an organization's business-critical applications and underlying hybrid IT infrastructure. Enterprise infrastructure today may include public and private multi-cloud surroundings across VM's and container deployments and on-prem data centers with compute, storage, database, network, and endpoint resources.
It's the task of the IT infrastructure operations staff is to support the aims of individual business units and those of the larger business by maintaining service uptime, availability, and performance for IT services.
IT operations include all the processes and services handled by an organization's information technology (IT) department. As such, IT operations consist of administrative procedures and support for hardware and software, for both internal and external clients. Effective IT operations management ensures the availability, efficiency and performance of the organization's services and processes.
IT operations management defines methods by which IT approaches providers, deployment and support to ensure consistency, reliability and quality of service. Almost all IT businesses have management sections that set policy on how support and service are conducted and how issues are resolved as a normal practice. IT operations departments generally set at least loosely-defined operations policies and procedures based on how the organization tends to solve its clients and its own needs. In a small business, ITOM may be hands-on and provided in-house. Increasingly, however, it is very likely to be automatic and possibly outsourced. IT operations management software monitors and controls how an IT organization manages applications, hardware support as well as other IT support like cellular contracting and help desks of all kinds.
