It's important to point out Hibiki's orange is slightly lighter than Kanade's, probably to denote the fact she's younger - just like she's depicted as a chick in side material while adults like Gen are roosters. Maybe I'm tripping but iirc her association with yellow was stronger in early seasons than now, and it would make sense with what you mentionned about the alchemists being golden/yellow

Oh yeah, Kanade is more of a red-orange than the orange used for Hibiki

And Season 1 Hibiki was definitely more yellow, as you said

G's concert used an orange light for Hibiki but the merch still looked a bit more on the yellow side (the Lydian notebook was straight up called yellow)

With GX and the introduction of Carol, they started leaning more into orange for Hibiki
