Not a super huge fan of muscle milk (i think it has a chalky taste) and they like to REALLY pack in like 40g of protein per serving, which if you’re just getting started is a little too much in my non-professional, personal experience based opinion. I don’t like it because it tastes bad, but it’s not necessarily any worse than any other protein on the market. Just remember to limit your servings, excess proteins get stored as fat just like any other macromolecule. (Again, not a professional, but that’s just basic biochemistry)
If you can, try going to a specialty nutrition store and ask for samples. Protein supplements usually come down to what flavor/texture you like and if you prefer to not have sucralose.
I use Nutrakey Whey protein and it’s vanilla ice cream cookie flavored. Of the brands I’ve tried it mixes the best and it tastes AMAZING. If you prefer, they also have a chocolate, but Arnold Iron Whey is the best chocolate flavor I’ve come across.
Have fun and happy gains! Hope this helped. :)
hey so im trying to gain weight and ive started working out
When you want to do well in a race after coming off of an injury, it can be really frustrating to not get the results that you want. No I didn't run as fast as I would have liked, but recovery is a process and maybe I'll get back to my peak eventually. That being said, I pushed myself really hard on Saturday, and thanks to a little help from mother nature I came away with first in my age group. (Everyone was scared of the weather) Toad Suck 10k with a 42:12 finish time, 6:48 pace, and 10th overall. Couldn't be happier. Things can only get better. ☺ (Photo creds: @adamlarey )
