non violence is an ideology that's pushed by our oppressors, as a way to stop us taking the actions necessary to liberate ourselves. the state can use violence, and the threat of it, to enforce the laws that maintain the status quo. but you protest in a way the state doesn't like and the pigs will beat you, or arrest you. be black and the pigs will harass you and subject you to public humiliation, helping to keep you in your place as one of the most oppressed
the working and marginalized make up the vast bulk of society, and when we move the working class en masse into a struggle for liberation, success is a matter of when, and at what cost, and the political representatives of the capitalist class know this. that's why they push non-violence as an ideology for us to follow, while they use violence to impose their rule
but that great struggle, that mass movement to seize control of the state and the economy is still a distance away in most of the west. so why post this? because your attitude, the attitude of the working class, has to be that violence is a tool which is neither inherently good nor bad. it can be used to oppress us as it is today, and as it's used far more brutally in the colonised countries around the world. but it can also be used to liberate people, to end oppression, as it did in Cuba, where the masses now have access to medical care and education, and so much more
