It wasn’t very often that Victoire made a visit to Diagon Alley. She always thought people were joking when they said going out with a child was hectic but, even given the fact that Amélie was a generally well behaved child, she’d quickly come to know what other parents had meant. On the few occasions she did go out alone, she usually stopped in at Flourish and a Blotts to see what they had in. She needed something new to read anyway. Being instantly greeted by Elsie upon entering, the woman smiled back at the worker and shook her head. “Nothing in particular - unless you have recommendations? I’ve been meaning to look for something new to read.”
It had been a slow morning. A very slow morning. It had also been a slow start to the afternoon. Sure, it was pouring rain, but that normally didn’t keep everyone at home, and Elsie hadn’t seen a single customer all day. She was walking around the shelves of the shop, more to keep away the boredom than for any real reason, when she heard someone enter. She made her way back to her position behind the counter as fast as possible. “Are you looking for anything specific today?” she asked the customer with a pleasant smile.

👄 + amelie
“What is there to say that I haven’t already said before? I mean, she’s my entire universe, my best friend, my hero, the reason I get up in the mornings, the light of my life. She’s everything to me. I have been blessed with the most funny, most charming, most vibrant little girl in the world. Every day I’m just blown away by the person she’s becoming. She’s sassy and she’s vivacious and exuberant but she’s also warm and loving and has this big heart that she wants to invite everyone into. She’s just five and half the time I think she’s the one taking care of me instead of the other way around. She’s my favorite person in the entire world and I am just... I can’t believe that she’s mine. She’s my little girl. I don’t know what I’m doing right, half the time I’m such a mess that I’m not really sure it’s my parenting that’s steering this kid in the right direction but she’s everything I wish I was. I’m just so proud of her and who she’s becoming, and watching her grow up is truly the biggest joy of my life. I love her. Simple as that, I just really love her.”

👄 + ex husband
“I don’t... I don’t know how to talk about this. Was he the love of my life? No, absolutely not. You’re supposed to end up with the love of your life, aren’t you? You’re supposed to be happy when you’re with that person. But thing is... He was my person. For a little while there he was. He gave me the most precious gift in life and I am so enamored with that little girl that it’s hard to be angry at him ever, but... We were supposed to grow old together. We were supposed to have a life together. We were supposed to raise a family together, to face the dangers of these times together. And none of that’s happened and that’s kind of hard to stomach at times. There are so many times in the middle of the night where I wake up and I turn around because I have this expectation that he’ll be right there and he’s not. And it’s been like that for nearly five years but it still shocks me that my relationship didn’t pan out the ‘proper way’. I don’t know. I don’t really know how to talk about him without getting angry all over again, so I would rather not. It’s not really anyone’s business anyway.”

LEONORA FLINT: Which emotion do you have the most difficulty expressing?
“Probably anger. I try to be pretty sensible about everything and make it a priority to not let things get to me too bad, so I rarely express my anger and if I’m feeling it then I just try to bury it down. I don’t like showing signs of vulnerability or losing my composure in front of others. I just feel like… There’s an expectation of how I should handle things, especially in front of Amelie, so I try to be very discreet about it. And I just… can’t raise my voice against anyone, so generally when I’m mad I just hold it in and let it out on my diary.”
DENNIS CREEVEY: If you could change one of the key moments in your life that shaped who you are as a person, would you?
“I don’t think I would. I mean, if I did that… Wouldn’t I be a totally different person? I know this is the boring answer, but I’m proud of my progression and the person I’ve become so I don’t really feel the need to change anything that’s happened to get me to where I am. And I think it’s kind of silly to dwell on these kinds of things because you can’t change the past.”
LILY POTTER: Which of the main four elements do you think represents you best, and why?
“I know absolutely nothing about the main four elements. So naturally I looked it up, and upon opening the first result I saw the words ‘lover of babies’ next to the earth element. And that sounds about right so we’re going to go with that.”

NATALIA DELACOUR-BARDON: Who is the one person you’d follow to the ends of the Earth, no matter what?
“I think you may end up sick and tired of hearing about my devotion to her but - Amelie. Absolutely no competition. It’s her. I love my family. I do, with all of my heart I do, but my world revolves entirely around that child. And it always will. She’s given me purpose. I’m pretty much useless outside of being a mum. Everything that I do is for my daughter and I know that she is the one person I would do anything for – anything, absolutely anything, to ensure her happiness. And I would follow her wherever she goes, so that I can be there for her, in her corner, protecting her, taking care of her, making sure that she’s going to be okay. Even when she’s got her own loved ones and family to look after, I will be right behind her every step of the way.”
MOLLY WEASLEY II: Do you think you’re strong enough for the war?
“No. And that’s never been in question. I’m not capable of fighting. I could never raise my wand to another being. I’m not made for this kind of conflict, and it’s becoming more apparent to me as the time goes by. But I have an obligation to my family and to those that I love to take a stand. So even if I’m not strong enough, I’m here and I’m going to do what I can. Even if I know that’s nothing and I’m virtually useless to the cause – I have to do something. For them. I just hope what I do will be enough.”
MAILAN PHAM: How far would you go for your family?
“To the end of time, to the ends of the earth. I would sacrifice everything for my family. They’re the world to me, and there’s no doubt in my mind that I would stop at no lengths to make sure that they come out of this okay. It would destroy me to not do that. And it’s hard, because my ideologies don’t go along with war, but ultimately I will do what I have to to make sure that my family is safe. Even if it means sacrificing myself for them… I would do that for them.”

MERCY BORGIN: What is something you’ve found out about your family, somewhat recently, that surprised you?
“I don’t really know if I’ve ‘discovered’ anything new about my family that surprised me. I think the Weasleys are generally a pretty open book, and we’ve all grown up in such close proximity that it’s almost difficult to imagine there are any sort of shocking things I don’t know about my relatives. I don’t know – you tell me! Maybe you know something going on that I’m unaware of. I’m afraid I’m pretty out of the loop where my younger cousins are concerned, but I blame that on the issues with contacting anyone at Hogwarts currently. I’d like to believe they would still tell me what’s happening in their lives, even if I’m just so old now.
…Unless it’s something rather naughty, then please no one tell me.”
OPAL TALKALOT: What do you desire most?
“In short? Peace. I want a safe and peaceful world where I can comfortably raise my child. I want this creature registration gone, I want my family to be safe, and I want this dark cloud that’s fallen over our community to disperse. I just want that wonderful, carefree childhood of mine back and I want that for Amelie. I want her to feel safe, I don’t want her life to be endangered in any way. Be it because she’s part-veela or because she’s associated with this family. I just want to be able to go to bed at night and not fear the worst is coming.”
WREN VOLANT: What’s your favourite luxury?
“Does muggle technology count? I feel like that’s a luxury. I don’t know how the wizarding community survived without it. I mean, I am by no means an expert. I’m pretty sure my family is embarrassed by how horrible I am at navigating these things. But they sure are helpful. Why wait for an owl to fly across the country to deliver a handwritten note when you can just send a text message out instantly? Access to so many things at your finger tips - and streaming? I’m in love with all of it. It’s like a single mum’s best friend. Like when you’ve had a long day and you just want to kick off your shoes and pour yourself a glass of wine, and watch a drama filled reality show about a single woman finding love just to remind yourself that you are better off single than courting twenty-five man-children at once… But then you remember you have a five year old who wants all the attention. That’s when you realize you don’t need a life partner, you just need an iPad and some kids apps to have that easy night. I love being a witch but I will never give up that muggle tech.”

VIVIENNE ‘VIV’ CHANG: Do you have a competitive side, and if so, in what kind of situation does it come out most?
“I would say so, yes, but it’s a very mild side of me. The only time I’ve ever shown any sort of competitive or aggressive nature was with Quidditch and I think that’s pretty normal for anyone who played the sport. Especially if you feel passionate about it - you want to succeed, you want to win. It’s the only outcome that matters to you when you train so hard and put your all out there on the pitch. But I mean outside of that? I don’t think I have a competitive side. I think I’m very much the type that likes to support everyone in their endeavors, even if it’s in direct conflict with my own. …Except for when it comes to cake sales at my daughter’s school. My baked goods are loads better than Mrs. Hughes’s - and you know I’m right, Helen.”
EZRA ‘Z’ DIGGORY: How do you feel about religion?
“That’s a tough one. It… feels like a very muggle construct to me? I mean most religions of the modern world have a very negative view on witchcraft and, well, that’s kind of a part of who I am and that’s my culture. I don’t know. It’s never really been a factor in my life and so I can’t say I feel much of anything on the topic. I understand why some people ‘need’ religion. I understand why people want to have that blind faith in some higher authority or a sort of afterlife, but ultimately it’s not something in my life.”
CLEO TRELAWNEY: Did your skills/gifts/talents come naturally to you, or did you have to work hard to acquire or control them?
“I wish they came naturally. I’ve always had to work hard to cultivate my skills, which is something I take pride in. Back at school I was a studious, busy body and that’s how I excelled. And that’s carried into adulthood. If there’s something I want to become good at, I feel this need to put my all into learning it and getting better at it. I think the only thing that was remotely ‘natural’ for me was the curse-breaking. Maybe it’s an ‘inherited’ thing because of my dad, but I think I took to it very quickly and it’s the only thing that hasn’t caused me a lot of frustration. Either that or I’m just blind to how bloody terrible I am at it.”

sam creates an iidy ask meme (part 01).
alright, so! i was looking for some more motivation to read all of your amazing intros, and i thought! hey! why not create an ask meme inspired by all of the wonderful characters in this roleplay! and after asking the admins if it was okay, and them agreeing to let me do this, i started choosing characters at random (using random.org), and reading about them until i came up with a question inspired by them! okay, so, fact is, i can’t really read, so some of these may not make sense, but at least i tried? anyway, here’s the first batch of 22 questions based on characters from this roleplay! the next batch should be coming either today or tomorrow! also, fun fact: these ask memes will be updated around every two weeks to include new characters!

It had only taken a moment to recognize the man in the pub. But then again, she could probably point out any of her family members in a crowd. It seemed only fitting to run into Uncle Ron on this of all days, being his birthday and all. But Victoire had to admit to a bit of surprise when she’d saw the man sitting in the Leaky Cauldron at this point in the late afternoon. She would have assumed that her uncle would have been home or elsewhere, with someone in the family enjoying his day. She most definitely wasn’t expecting to catch him, alone and drinking. Of course, nothing seemed normal since October.
She tried not to frown as she approached him, replacing the sadness in her gaze with warmth and a smile. The last thing anyone needed to remind this man of was what he was missing this birthday. So it was with that in mind and a grin on her face that Victoire approached him... Only to catch him completely by surprise. She’d only been there a second when Ron had looked up, and his reaction had caused Victoire to jolt in her spot, a hand flying to her chest in response.
“Right, I’ll try to keep that in mind the next time I come over and say ‘hello’,” she chuckled dryly, taking a breath and willing her beating heart to slow down. “Sorry,” her grin was sheepish in response, “I didn’t mean to startle you... I just saw you sitting by yourself and figured I should come by and wish you a ‘Happy Birthday’.” Her features softened and she looked over her uncle carefully for a brief moment before continuing. “Are you having a good day?” Her gaze shifted to the drink he’d been nursing as one brow rose up curiously. “Done anything... special so far?”
WHERE: The Leaky Cauldron, London. WHEN: March 1st, 2024 @ 15:58. WHO: Open to all adults.
He wasn’t going to cry.
He couldn’t cry.
Ron had to admit it; it was a bit early to get drunk. Or well, to drink. At his age, he couldn’t very well excuse drinking just for the sake of getting drunk, could he? Not even when all he wanted to do was either lie down on the floor and never get up again OR throw glasses at the wall until he bled from the shards that rebounded back to him.
Fuck. He hated everything so much at that moment. From the rickety table he was sitting at, to the chair he was sitting on, to the looks of pity the bartender kept on sending his way. And she wasn’t the only one. Even McLaggen’s kid, bloody McLaggen’s kid, had sent a drink his way. Not that he hadn’t done the same to her a few nights ago, after he’d heard whispers of her sister’s death. Still, it stung. Ron Weasley used to be easy to pity. He used to find himself pitiful, even, but that had changed. Ron had changed. He was a grown man now, and he didn’t need to be pitied. Fuck. What he needed was his best friend back.
He had spent the first eleven years of his life without Harry. That was a big chunk of time, and yet, he felt like the hole inside of him would have been just have big if they had known each other from birth. He loved Harry. He hadn’t said it enough. It wasn’t the “manly” thing to do, and Ron had always tried to prove himself. As the youngest of six boys, he had wanted to show he was strong. And telling your best friend you loved him had, apparently, never been a great show of strength, and how fucking much Ron regretted it was unbelievable. He had said it from time to time, but was it enough? Did Harry ever know that Ron saw him as a brother? As even more than that? Ron loved his brothers, sure, but Harry held a special place in his heart. A place that had been turned into a hole that would never be filled again.
It was his first birthday without Harry. Well, except for his first eleven ones, but Ron didn’t count those. Hell, he could barely remember them. His sixteenth birthday had been especially interesting, and Ron couldn’t help but quietly chuckle as he remembered it whilst staring into his glass of whiskey.
Harry was gone. Harry would never get to turn forty-four. Harry Potter was dead.
So absorbed into his thoughts and his whiskey, Ron didn’t even notice anyone approaching him until he finally looked up and saw that someone was sitting right in front of him.
“Oh, bloody hell,” he jumped in surprised, putting his hand against his heart for a second before raising an eyebrow. “Kind of rude to try to give a guy a heart attack on his birthday, you know?”

Having spent a lot of time traipsing through old family tombs and around meticulously set lego traps, Victoire Weasley wasn’t one for fancy wear. It wasn’t very practical to wear extravagant robes while on a job or around her clumsy five year old and whatever messes she was carrying around. And she just never looked at herself as being an elegant woman. But that didn’t stop her from stopping into Twilfitt and Tatting’s whenever she was in Diagon Alley. Once upon a time she always talked about filling her wardrobe of whatever ornate pieces she could afford from the shop and, while she had yet to make that a reality, she enjoyed perusing the selection of what they had there.
Taking her time looking at a particular emerald piece, the woman found herself thinking about taking that plunge. Because why not? You work hard, you rarely treat yourself. You’re a reasonably good mother. You deserve this. Her mental pep talk was only stalled by the price tag. Not beyond her range but definitely unreasonable for a single, working mother to spend on an outfit she’d rarely wear. “You really don’t need it, V,” she sighed to herself, letting the fabric go and shoving her hands into her pockets in order to keep herself from going for it.
She was all set to walk out and carry on her shopping trip when she’d felt a tap on her shoulder. The workers here could be rather pushy and she was absolutely terrible at saying no to anyone, so the woman bolstered herself up to quickly decline any help and rush herself out when instead she was met by another patron. Suddenly aware of how empty and quiet the shop had been, Victoire looked around only to not see any of those infamously helpful employees around. “You know... I don’t think I’ve seen a single one since coming in.” She shrugged, “Maybe they all went on break and forgot to lock the door. Either that or they’re just very trusting of their clientele.”
WHERE: Twilfitt and Tatting’s, Diagon Alley. WHEN: Sunday, March 2nd, 2024 @ Early afternoon. WHO: Open to all adults.
Lightly running her fingers over the fabric of the clothes, Piper couldn’t help but smile. Textures had always been something that made her happy. She remembered when she was very little, three or four years old, and her mother would bring her food shopping with her. In one of the shops they always visited, there was a rack with little bags filled with spices, and Piper had always loved playing with them and feeling the different textures underneath her fingers, with only a small bag separating the spices from her. At her age now, it didn’t seem as appropriate to play with spices, but clothes were a pretty decent replacement in Piper’s opinion.
Finally, she stopped at a robe covered in crushed velvet. It was a beautiful deep red, and Piper sighed as she took it out of the rack to look at it more closely. Oh, wow, she thought, realizing that that robe was screaming her name. There was black embroidery of flowers arranged in a subtle but beautiful way all over the edges of the robe that all snaked together in a complex but minimalistic pattern.
Problem was, it was red. And whilst she could get away with wearing regular clothes in that colour, she very much doubted that a robe for special occasions would pass if she were to wear it at a Death Eater function. Then again, blood was red, and her colleagues did enjoy bloody things, didn’t they?
Still, Piper didn’t want to take a chance. She was already getting some looks from certain people due to the fact that she had yet to go on what would be considered a big mission, and she thought it better not to try her luck. If word were to go back to her family that she was a disappointment… Well, she would rather not think about that.
Walking over to the first person she saw in the store, she gently tapped on their shoulder, and smiled as they turned around to look at her.
“I’m awfully sorry to bother you, but have you by any chance seen an employee around? Or know where they’re hiding? The service in this place is meant to be impeccable, and it usually is, but today, it seems like they’re all hiding from me,” she laughed lightly, transferring all the weight of the robe to her left arm as she used her right hand to tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear as it was getting in her eyes.
