There are a few things that

I cannot apologize for.

I can’t apologize for my up-

bringing, the fact that I have

scars that are so deep sometimes

when they are pushed hard enough

they still bleed, usually from my

tear ducts. It’s hard for you to

touch me sometimes because

those touches remind me of things

I wish had killed me.

I cannot apologize for poor eating

habits that make you uncomfortable

or the marks that stretch across my

body from a disease that takes

everything I eat and makes it

attach itself to me.

I cannot apologize for being soft,

for being emotional, for being

everything that I am because

well… I won’t.

There are things that are

apart of me; baggage that I carry

and it is mine. I won’t ask you

to hold it, I just ask you to carry
