Here's this thing (two things, to be exact) I came up with. Looks kinda modernist, as in: eastern bloc modernism 😅 Decorative bits can be used on its own to create a sort of leaning pergola.

Why I don't use ACR and what I use instead of it.

-Now, as soon as you hear risky woohoo, most of you will think of ACR. But that’s not what I use, for 3 very specific reasons.

1) For some reason, it disables reaction of family members/friends when someone is cheating. I saw this online, tested it myself and it’s absolutely true. Angela and Lilith saw Daniel making out with Kaylynn and didn’t care at all. With ACR removed, they got pissed, they hate them and are furious with them both. AND because they saw it, they COULD gossip about it to Mary Sue and she could find out about the cheating that way.

2) Out of curiosity, I tested ACR some more and I didn’t like what I saw. Mary Sue caught Daniel cheating, is now furious at him and hates him. But when I went to have them woohoo with ACR, she accepted. And when I had them to woohoo the normal way, she rejected him. Same with all the other interactions. ACR accepted, normal EA interactions rejected.

I’m pretty sure that ACR doesn’t take into account how the recipient of the action is feeling towards the person that’s initiating the action. Or maybe it’s something else, but either way, it’s weird.

3) If they took out reactions to cheating, what else was taken out is my question. I’m wary of it now, because I don’t know what else was changed without it being stated.

Now,what I use instead is RCC by Midge The Tree for these functions:

Now, onto the list of what I use it for.

1) Risky woohoo. I put it at 15℅ while Try for Baby is 50℅. That’s just my personal preference.

2) It enables teen woohoo, young adult woohoo and woohoo with Bigfoot. Yeap, that’s right, you can get it down with Bigfoot.

3) A playable sim that’s visiting can get pregnant if there’s a risky woohoo or a try for baby being done.

4) There’s also fertility options as well, along with being able to toggle and make a sim infertile.

5) I use it for same sex pregnancy.

All in all, an amazing mod with all these great options.

And, yes, I use same sex pregnancy. But I don’t care about realism, this game is extremely unrealistic in some aspects anyways. And besides, in The Sims 3 ,in Into the Future, there’s an option to engineer a baby for same sex couples. The Sims 3 is canonically DECADES before everything in The Sims 2 happens. Who says that some medical procedures weren’t done with the help of aliens or something and now everyone can become pregnant? Considering men can already get pregnant because of alien abduction, same sex pregnancy also because of that aspect + the medical procedures, isn’t even unrealistic and I don’t know why people say it is.

But, if you want same sex pregnancies and you want realism, simply do this.

1) Have your sim in a same sex relationship go for a walk or a jog or something.

2) Take away 2000 simoleons from the household.

3) When the sim comes back, use Sim Blender to make them pregnant.

There you go. You can pretend it’s like in The Sims 3. They went to a hospital and engineered a baby together which cost 2000 simoleons to do. I prefer this because I want to see the genetics of my couples mixed together.

As for sexualities,I use Sim Blender to randomize them. This is how that's done:

1) Click on Sim Blender.

2) Click on "Traits"

3) Click on "Hood"

4) Click on "Gender Pref"

And there it is! You can adjust the percenteges, run the randomizer and show hood census!

And that's basically it,ACR replaced as easy as that. For me,sims already flirt by themselves enough,so I'm good on that front. Maybe Romantic Standards by Midge also helped with that,I don't know.

I have a link to the adjusted percentages of risky woohoo on RCC. Try For Baby is 50% and for risky woohoo there's multiple options,the percentages on the folders are the risky woohoo percentages.

Jenny is finally going on that date ^^^

Some random doodles of Jenny and Lyla! Happy Women’s Month!! I love women ❤️

They were best friends since elementary school, roommates in college, each others maid of honor. They raised their kids together. The only thing that could separate them was death itself. ( Rip Lyla )

Some random head cannons for these girls:

1) Jenny, Lyla and Buzz were all friends in elementary school. At that time Buzz still had a passion for barbershop quartets.

2) Lyla danced ballet, and did writing as a hobby, inspired by her father.

3) They babysat Jenny’s brothers all the time as teenagers. They let Pascal join their group once he was in high school.

4) Jenny snuck her little brothers into Alien(1979). Traumatizing them for life. She was grounded.

5) Lyla and Buzz started dating in high school, it was all good until Buzz changed.

5.5) After Buzz decided to beat up all the nerds ( who were middle schoolers ) and Lazlo! Jenny gave Buzz a knuckle sandwich - ending their friendship.

6) They had a quick wedding during university because Tank was making a debut.

7) Lyla named Tank - Theodore - and called him Teddy …until he was older.

8) Lyla worked as a hospital receptionist until she had three boys to take care of.

9) Lyla loves all her boys, she taught Tank some dance moves whenever he wanted. She introduced Ripp to music and tutored Buck so he was smart.

10) Her ghost is stuck in Olive’s garden because no one knows she’s dead :’(

Jenny knows that’s something is wrong, a bit peeved her disappearance was overshadowed by a mystery lady.

Paris Hilton Repo-man Default Replacement

By popular demand, I am releasing this default. But be warned, the installation process requires SimPE!

You can download SimPE here if you don't have it.

Instructions

Download the files below and put them in your downloads. Use clean installer to install the Paris Hilton sim.

Go into your neighborhood and create Paris Hilton in CAS via the downloaded sim

Close the game

Open SimPE and click Ctrl + Shift + N

Choose your neighborhood, click Open, wait for it to load, then go to Tools > Neighborhood > Sim Surgery

Make sure the Service Sims box at the top of the window is checked and scroll down to find a sim named "Repo Man"

Click on the Repo Man sim and then click Use within the Patient Sim box on the right

Then, scroll up to find your Paris Hilton sim. Click on Paris Hilton and click Use within the Archetype Sim box on the right

Click Surgery

You will have to do steps 6-9 for each repo-man in your neighborhood if you don't have antiredundancy.

You will have to do steps 2-9 for each neighborhood you want a Paris Hilton repo-man in.

As a Sims 2 player one of the most eerie things about playing the original game isn't necessarily the creepy/more liminal aesthetic or the repetitively endless gameplay, but the fact that almost all the pre-made Sims from the original game are inexorably doomed by the narrative.

There's something odd about Pleasantview specifically, where the majority of the returning Sim families live (save for Tara Kat, who seems... relatively fine). Like, the concept of the game is that twenty-five years have passed, and all of the returning characters are pre-baked into character arcs that communicate an unavoidable truth: You, the player, failed.

Bella Goth will disappear. Her brother (though in the original Sims we aren't aware that Michael Bachelor is her brother) will die, possibly murdered. Mortimer will be lost and alone. Cassandra will be stuck in an unloving engagement. The Newbie's daughter will be impoverished, a single mother whose husband died young, with two boys and another on the way. Daniel Pleasant will grow up to be a cheater. Jennifer Pleasant will never be an athlete like she wanted (her brother will). And though poor Johnny Burb never mentions Tucker anymore, you know that old dog died years ago. The Roomies, the Mashugas, the Hicks, the Charmings - all leave town... or worse, die out.

I think about Jeff Pleasant's bio in the first game: "Jeff and his family are new to the neighborhood. Can you help Jeff provide for his family and fulfill his lifelong goal of being the first man to walk on Mars?" And how it contrasts to Daniel's in the second: "Since his father Jeff died without achieving his dream of going to Mars, Daniel has felt an overwhelming guilt."

And sure, you can save the families of Pleasantview. You can choose for Mary-Sue to not go to work that day, or maybe Daniel never pursues Kaylynn Langerak again. You can give Cassandra a happy marriage, tame Don Lothario's womanizer ways. You can financially save Brandi Broke. You can get John Burb another dog. You can get Jennifer the career she always wanted. You can defy the scripted in-game prompts and say "No. I don't want to play like this." You can break the cycle, every time you play.

And yet, at the end of the day, no matter what you do... uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, maybe just deleting that Neighborhood folder, they are reset back to exactly where they were again. They're doomed to repeat it forever.

The game makes it clear that there are some things you aren't meant to change. A genie lamp or a Resurrect-O-Nomitron can bring back sims like Michael Bachelor, but you will pay for it in your neighborhood deteriorating to corruption. And no matter what you do, no force in the universe can bring Bella Goth back. The one in Strangetown isn't even really her, after all. And maybe she isn't. They say they deleted her in development, replaced her with a clone. Maybe that's what Bella Goth in Strangetown is. A clone. Maybe we were wrong, after all. Maybe she was never abducted by aliens. Maybe Don Lothario killed her. Maybe Dina Caliente killed her. Maybe Mortimer did. But you can't bring her back, no matter what you do. Recreate the original Bella, pixel by pixel, extract her data, make your zombie Bella. Build your own monster. Create a sim. But she will never recognize her family. Never see them as her own.

And she was never meant to.

I really love new kits ❤❤ I like that they were inspired by Don and Bella ❤❤ so I started converting some stuff from them ❤ The first thing I want to convert was this beautiful dress (SP59 Dress) ❤❤ I just love them ❤ although I was bothered by the long skirt with the slit (damn bones... 😅). It's not as perfect as I would have liked, but I hope you like it anyway ❤❤

I thought for a long time about what kind of shoes I would put with them, but in the end I decided on shoes from the same kit :)

By the way, I hope you're enjoying celebrating our amazing The Sims 🥳🥳, I can't believe it's already 25 years old. And what do you think of the rerelased ts1 and ts2? :)

Moyo's Great Big Afterglow Default Project

HOORAH! 🥳Finally I can share with you guys! There's a lot to get through here so some notes beforehand.

There are way, way too many hairs to list and people to credit. See everything that's included and who all deserves credit in the spreadsheet I made for this project!

Not every hair is replaced! I don't know much about hidden clone hairs, for example. Some of them are replaced if the default I used as a base included them but most probably are not.

I chose to hide a bunch of the OFB hats and whatnot when I was starting to get burnt out of this project. See what hairs I've hidden on the hiders tab of the spreadsheet. Hiders are not included, but there's a link to them.

There's a few defaults I'm using from loosiap, rudhira and seabens. They are not included, see those in the defaults by others tab of the spreadsheet.

I use a bunch of no/random npc hair mods so not all npc hairs are replaced. See those in the no/random npc tab of the spreadsheet.

I use custom turn ons that change the one for hats so a lot of the hat hairs are replaced with non-hat hairs. I think most of the flags in simpe are changed to non-hat too but not positive - some might still be hat flagged.

Defaults where all I did was change the texture that didn't contain extra ages include them in a separate file because I didn't want to add them to the main file and mess anything up. Defaults done by me have them included in the main file.

Nearly every default has extra ages, but a few do not.

The Notes column of the spreadsheet mostly contains notes I wrote for myself regarding the custom versions of hairs I retextured (which will all be uploaded) but some of them do apply to the default too. I'm so brain fried though so I'm leaving it in the sheet. You can generally ignore - or read them if you want!

Defaults are in their own folders, and include a pic of the hair they're replacing and a pic of what they're replaced with...if the kind people on the default database are bored.

I'd never made a default replacement for hair before this so if any of these are not made in the best, most optimal way, apologies. I was learning as I went!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reach out if you notice any wonkiness. This was worked on over 3 of the most stressful months of my life so I'd not be surprised if I screwed anything up. Also if I forgot to mention anything in this post that you'd like to know, don't hesitate to ask that too!

Taxi Default Replacement for The Sims 2

This is a default replacement for the in game Taxi. This version I made is similar to the Sims 4 one. I removed the "thingy" on the top, leaving just the smaller one, changed the texture and made the glass more clear.

Better Argue Anims

For an unknown reason, Maxis used 'agree' talk anims for the argue interaction. Especially weird as it always causes a relationship hit. In my book, that's the opposite of agreeing.

This mod replaces the argue anims with ones that look, well, arguing. No more enthusiastic smiling while being rampaged at.

Should be base game compatible. I don't know anything this conflicts with, but run HCDU to be sure.
