So obviously its something setup to get people who love horror, who have the need to find it, all being very eye like, but what was the significance of the popcorn? Was the actual movie just the horror of someone always watching? Either through the most horrifying and torturous moments of their lives or just watching through Tom's life. Watching breaking bad vr but the ai is self aware and, I just had this such weird feeling looking at this map that I just couldn't place until, it just fit. This is precisely shadow of israphel. This sprawling map, filled with all sorts of things, to a degree presetup, going past these strange weird places only to go back later to hit the story beat. It's somewhere between the strangest call back/ chekov gun and just, that transient feeling that everything is built upon a film of reality, hospitals and Denny's and Mexicos all just existing forever, paused and modified to suit the needs of a single point of view that passes through these spaces.

Rereading Scott Pilgrims precious little life after absolutely devouring Scott Pilgrim takes off and i forget just how perfect Matthew Patel is! Man not only takes the time to write an email to this punk he's been, like organised to fight with but then just because he's nice and thinks Scott didn't get his email writes a damn letter and hand delivers it in a snowstorm just because this man is so perfect and feels the need to have Scott fully up to date on everything this pirate themed man is perfect and i love him so.
