A dramatic picture taken by Michael Nolan has been dubbed the face of Mother Nature crying on a canvas of melting ice and cascading water on a Norwegian Glacier. Randy Schutt discovered this amazing photo which shows a crying face in an ice cap located on Nordaustlandet, in the Svalbard archipelago of Norway. The tears of this natural sculpture were created by a waterfall of glacial water cascading from one of the face’s eyes, thus painting an alarming picture warning the world about the effects of global warming. Michael Nolan is a marine photographer and environmental lecturer. He has captured this picture while on an annual voyage to observe the glacier and surrounding wildlife. It’s best to quote Nolan’s words on this:

This is how one would imagine mother nature would express her sentiments about our inability to reduce global warming. It seemed an obvious place for her to appear, on a retreating ice shelf, crying.”

This is why we need to change things, guys. If we work hard, we can turn all this around.

Pirates of the Silicon Valley (Reaction)

Variation in Attitude: Steve Jobs and Bill Gates

It was a great movie because I've learned a lot. This is my first time to know that Macintosh (by Apple) is the first commercially successful personal computer to use a mouse and graphical user interface rather than a command line interface. Iwas wondering the title became as it is but as the time goes by I already noticed that Bill Gates used other peoples ideas like DOS and Apple's Operating System. Steve Jobs and Apple acquired the mouse and GUI from XEROX without paying a dime or doing any work. I think they were like pirates ( I think so ?^^, ) And I search what is Silicon Valley means and it's state that it is the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California, United State. The term originally referred to the region's large number of silicon chip innovators and manufacturers, but eventually came to refer to all the high tech businesses in the area It is now generally used as a metonymy for the American high tech sector.

They are both successful but in the first place they have variations in attitude.

Steve Jobs.

 Steve Jobs is famed for his ability to give speeches and captivate the audience attention. He is able to captivate his employees and audience with the ability of an evangelist. I admire his determination to uplift the name of Apple.

When he got already the Fame He totally changed his attitude he does not only motivate by story telling but also by force. I described Jobs as being manipulative and boorish. But because of his manipulative and boorish behavior he is considered by some of his employees as autocratic. Because of his quest for perfection, Jobs has domineering presence which makes some of the employees fear him. However, in his later years he shows warmth and less vindictiveness towards his employees. And he learned from his mistake. He learned to forgive and acknowledge the work of others. 

Bill Gates .

Bill Gates appears gentle and soft and weirdo, and he acts rather reserved with others until he knows them well and feels it is safe to be open with them. Bill has a strong need for emotional security and a sense of belonging, and is deeply attached to the past. He is loyal, protective and supportive of those he cares about.

Bill Gates principle got only one chance. Many things happen to him once. Therefore he take that chance and appreciate it.

Ive learned to him that we need learn from our mistakes. This is what Mr. Gates urges us to do. Everyone will make mistakes, nobody is perfect in this world. If you ever made a mistake, then learn from it, and never repeat it again. Only by doing so, you can improve yourself to a higher level of success.

In the end the movie was entertaining because of the humor and the insight of the revolution of the internet and computers. Lastly after I watched the movie, the excitement and thrill lingers in me because is Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are one of the successful technoprenuer and I also believe that no technoprenuer would be less successful if he apply the fundamentals and right attitude, so more or less I could forsee that being technoprenuer would mean a better future.

Are We on The Run Or Do We Need Fresh Vision?

There he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the LORD came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

1 Kings 19:9, NIV It’s a funny thing that when we go on holiday or even wander around our own town and bump into people we know, we, or they, often ask the question; ‘What are you doing here?’  The question was asked twice to one man in the Old Testament. ‘Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (1 Kings 19:9). And again the word of the LORD came to him: ‘What are you doing here, Elijah?’ (1 Kings 19:13).  This question can be friendly, but, if one were in the wrong place, the question could seem quite hostile. It may be a question we would have liked to ask Jonah when he was running away. ‘But Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tar shish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tar shish to flee from the Lord’ (Jonah 1:3). Sometimes this challenging question is laid down before us by the Lord. Sometimes we are in the right place and the question is not a prompt to make us think that we’re in the wrong place but rather a prompt to make us re-evaluate what it is we’re doing, and why we are there in the first place. A bit of a shake, rattle and stir question.  However, there are times we know we’re in the wrong place and the question is there to stir us up and move us on. There’s a fresh realization that this isn’t the right place for us and a fresh stirring to seek God’s face and the plans He has for us.  Perhaps there are times when we’ve responded to the question from the Lord in Isaiah 6:8 asking; ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And we’ve said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’However, we have then sat and sat, knowing God has asked us to move. And so a variant of the same question arises from the Lord; “What are you still doing here?”  So today let’s rise to the challenge and boldly face this question before the Lord and ask, “What am I doing here? And maybe, “from what or from whom am I running?” Prayer: Father unless You build the foundation I build in vain. I want to be in the right place with You, physically and spiritually. Please show me Your will in my situation today. Will You re-ignite me with Your vision and stir me with Your passion. There is so much more and I want to be part of it with You. Amen.
