Hiya!

Firstly, as a queer POC woman, no, I don't.

I also think personally, it's a very accurate and clever depiction of genuine feelings and sentiments to the time period. It would be unrealistic to portray a world in the seventies and eighties without those topics, along with homophobia. Which, if that's the story you want to write? cool, I love that too! But in this instance, those topics were included and I thought they were done exceptionally well. It doesn't read like the writing is any of those things. It reads like the writer has a knowledgable understanding of very real-world issues that effect very real people even to this day.

Secondly, I think its a very privileged thing to be able to not feel the desire to see yourself and your struggles of that sort reflected in writing. I personally have read many pieces of fiction, be that books or fics, that showcase these issues that are very real and very much things I have and still do experience, and its extremely validating to look at that and feel seen. I see a character experiencing a particular type of racism or sexism or homophobia and I think "Oh, hey, same! It's nice to not feel completely othered for once!"

So, my feelings on ATYD are very, very positive, and will continue to be so.
