Alice in Wonderland
This movie first came out in 1951, with a narrator directing the story. This is a story about a girl who is curious about life. It starts out with Alice’s sisters reading her a story, but Alice’s mind is elsewhere soon she sees a white rabbit which she chases down a hole. Down there she meets tweedled dee and Tweedle dum who warns AIice about the dangers she can get into with being so curious. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum in this instance are like parents trying to teach they kids that although it is good to be curious you still must be careful. Alice’s curiosity gets the best of her when she eats the cookies even after being told about the story of the curious Oysters. This is where had they been an adult present to teach Alice the right way, she would not have eaten the cookie. I think the hidden messages in the story is to stay away from drugs, after eating the cookie Alice encounters lots of strange things happening to her which only happens in a drug induced state. Another hidden message is although curiosity is a good thing for a child, it can sometimes lead to danger, so don’t always be so quick to try everything.

Sponsorship in the Movies
The James Bond movies, you can clearly see the sponsorship, it deals with the vehicles that James Bond drives. from the very first movie which was made in 1962 the character James Bond drives fancy expensive cars, that’s always fast and very flashy. Throughout the series James bond predominately drives an Aston Martin which is a British manufacture vehicle and the BMW ( Bavarian Motor Works) which is a German vehicle. The James Bond movies are packed full of sponsorship, from the vehicles to the champagne Bollinger, where Bond was driving really fast in a scene with Money Penny when he pulled to a sudden stop and open a compartment in the vehicle showing a chilled bottle of the champagne. The vodka Smirnoff, the Omega watch, Motorola products, the gin Gordon’s, Sony, Virgin Atlantic and also Ford. It was mention that Heineken paid a reported $45 million for a product sponsorship in the 2012 movie Skyfall featuring Daniel Craig. There was in a scene in the movie when the actor Daniel Craig who plays James Bond stated that, “Heineken was the best pale lager on the planet.” A ll that being said with all the product sponsorship, not many common people can go out and buy the newest BMW or Aston Martin, the lowest price of an Aston Martin is $186,195, but this does not stop the sponsorship of these companies willing to pay money to be featured in these movies.
In the movie The Matrix you see the use of the cell phone Nokia, and how it use to to look futuristic and cool, but even though those phones used in he movie were futuristically looking they still needed to use the old pay phone to be transported, but today Nokia is not around anymore but when it was in use Nokia was a fast moving product, everyone wanted and had a Nokia cell phone.
In the movie Cast Away with Tom Hanks, the soccer that the character used to paint a face on as to have someone there to talk to him so that he won’t feel alone was a soccer ball made by Wilson Sporting Goods. This soccer ball played a role for Tom Hanks character, and probably boost sales for the company which makes balls for every sport.
In the movie Transformers when the yellow car transformers from an old piece of crap to a flashy Chevrolet Camaro was a boost for General Motor, it’s saying you should just dump you old vehicle and come into GM and get these flashy fast cars. this movie was a nice was to sell vehicle for GM.
In the I, Robot movie starring Will Smith where he only wore Converse All Star shoes, there was even a scene where you see him pull a brand new pari of the shoes out of the box, this is telling people if it is good enough for Will Smith they everyone should want to wear Converse All Star shoes.

A technical look at Silence of The Lambs
The movie Silence of the Lambs came out February 13 1991. Its about a newly minted FBI agent who goes to interview a doctor who is criminally insane, but also very brilliant. This movie has no special effects, but I believe the camera angles speaks widely about the movie. In the trailer for this movie and throughout the entire movie, the camera is always angled directly on the face of the characters in close shots. These shots are personal as you can see what the actor is feeling throughout the screen and the emotions that crosses their face. The purpose for this is because of the nature of events that goes on in the movie, the movie deals with murder and kidnapping of women and the agents that are looking for the murderer this is personal to them.
In the first shot where the character Agent Starling who is played by the actress Jodie Foster is asked by her superior in a close up shot of his face, if she spooks easily, the camera zooms in on her face and you can see that she is scared even though she smiled a bit shakily, if the camera was not up close you would not notice play of emotions that crosses her face. This is called a Spiking, the actor is not looking directly at the camera, but very close to it. The next scene you hear voices talking about the killer and you see his name on the screen the camera goes in close for on the new paper clipping of his name and what the killer does to his victims, which says “Bill skins fifth”, this lets the audience know what the killer is doing to his victims, and it adds the shock value that the killer is removing the skin of his victims.
In the next shot Agent Starling is going for the first visit to meet Hannibal the Cannibal Lecter, this character is played by the virtually unknown at the time actor Anthony Hopkins, the focus of the camera is on Agent Starling, who look down the hallway at the chair that is waiting for her, you see the angle the camera shot takes, it makes the walk to the chair look even longer than it really is, This camera movement is called Track, where the camera it self moves away from the subject without using zoom. This gives the audience a sense of dread as we see the character swallows before taking in step in the direction of the chair. In a following scene you see the shot of agent Starling’s face and then a smaller face next to hers of Dr Hannibal Lecter. I think this part is saying to the audience that they will be a meeting of minds between the FBI agent and the doctor.
A shot is shown with Dr. Lecter then suddenly another close up shots of a newspaper archive showing who the doctor is and what he was charged with. Another shot is shown with a close up of Dr. Lecter, the camera pans directly on his face with his eye the main focus. This shot is subjective it is like the audience is looking through the eye of the actor and seeing exactly what he is being when he thanks Agent Starling.
The final scene in where Agent Starling is confronting the killer where the scene is pitch black and the killer has to wear night vision googles to find Agent Starling, and the agent is stumbling in the dark and barely survived because she heard the cock of the killer’s gun after he cocks the hammer and the agent turns around in time and shoots the killer. This scene is shot in pitch blackness to the audience eyes, but if you look carefully at the movie, when the killer raises his weapon you can see a reflection of the gun. This is because if that scene was actually shot in pitch blackness no one would be able to see it, as you need some kind of lightning to film movies. The only person who would have been able to see is the killer because of the night googles. This I believe is the only camera trick throughout the entire movie.
Throughout this movie all the shots are up front a close to the actors face, this is one of the thing i love most about this movie, no camera trick just plain emotion in every scene. People would not go to watch this movie looking for special effect, its all about dialogue and real honest acting.
This movie won multiple awards including best cinematography , best screenplay, best actor, best actress. This movie became the third film in Academy history to win the "Big Five" Academy Awards for producing, directing, acting, and screenwriting following It Happened One Night (1934) and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975).

Movie Soundtrack
Mamma Mia
This is a musical movie, the songs are incredible from soft and sad one minute to fast and upbeat the next, it makes you want to get out of your seat and dance. The main song of the movie Mamma Mia is sung by the world-famous ABBA, who is recognized for their smash hit Dancing Queen. The cast is great singing all the song, the audience gets caught up in the singing and soon to they are singing along. The songs had special meanings for each scene that is introduced. The emotions from these songs run from happy and in love to being sad and heartbroken, they are some feelings of forgiveness and second chances in the songs also. All these songs play on the feelings of the audience, it makes the audience feel what the actors are feeling through the music, it lifts them up when needed and then balances them out.  The upbeat songs are the best they tend to keep the movies going and interesting. The actress Meryl Streep is amazing, she is one of the best actors ever, and is mostly known for her serious acting, so this was a refresher to see her singing and dancing and smiling throughout the movie. There are seventeen songs on the song track all sung by the actors. The background scene from the group singing and dancing are spectacular. The was filmed in Greece which has some of the most beautiful beaches. When the sound track debut in the United Kingdom it shot to the top ten which is fantastic. It gives people the idea that the music is worth listening to and they should go out and by the album and maybe also see the movie. The group ABBA which is a Swedish group from the 80’s and their music is still popular today, makes this album worth listening to, even if it just to refresh your memory about their music. The song Waterloo is a great one also being that Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated at Waterloo, if you were to check out the video you would see a statue of Napoleon in the back ground. Having Abba on this album makes it worth it. These song are really important in the movie, the song I DO, I DO, I DO, is an especially good example where the singer is begging for another chance with the female character the song is trying to convince the person that they love, it says believe me or don’t believe me but I love you, the singer in the movie manages to convince the woman that he is in love with her through this song and she finally admits that she does believe him and she says I do. This song is sad yet hopeful, but it has a great outcome. The song track was nominated for twenty-five awards and won fifteen. The soundtrack is worth getting the music is great. This album was nominated for a Grammy, it won the National Movie Award in the United Kingdom, it also won the Empire Award for the best soundtrack.

An analysis of Carol
This movie trailer is about a movie named Carol, the movie is set in the 50’s the costumes and vehicles that is showcased in the movie makes it more authentic. It is about two women from different backgrounds one whom is younger and the other a much older woman who fall in love despite all the obstacles that is in their way.
It starts out with the voice of a woman which is deep and seductive, and she seems to be reading from a letter. The letter sounds like a break up love letter. The woman is telling a story to someone, but the audience does not know for sure who and is left in a state of wonder.  The voice of the actor is portrayed as sad and it’s letting the person know they will be okay despite the break up.  In the following scene you see the two women interacting with each other inside a store and being playful. The next scene cuts away immediately to one of the women who is seen in the back of a taxi with her face pressed against the window that has raindrop on it looking at nothing.
In that scene she looks lost and very alone, this make the audience wants to know more about why she is sad. Immediately you can tell this is going to be a romantic movie that is between these two women. Being that the movie is set in the 50’s and about two women being together, you can surmise that there might be some dangerous and difficult situations moving ahead with this.  You can see the younger woman is infatuated with the older lady Carol, the camera catches the emotions on her face clearly at one point she appears to be in awe of Carol.
This movie is filled with Pathos with emotions from both the females, from the joy, sadness, awe, playful and happiness. Therese is seen taking a photo unbeknownst to carol with a smile on her face, who you just happen to be playfully stroking her hair with the snow coming down. Then the audience realizes that carol is married she is seen dancing with a man who tells her she has always been the most beautiful woman in the room, but Carol is not looking at him, she spends her time glancing around the room, being that the movie is in the 50’s it is safe to assume that the man dancing with Carol is her husband, women and men in that era were generally mostly married. With the man thinking that the woman is his property and he must take care of her.
In this next scene the females are in a restaurant sitting together sharing a smoke and each calling the other by name with both smiling gives the audience some hope that something is about to develop with them, you can see the emotions playing across the face of the women, you see them appear to be a bit scared but still smiling about the possibilities maybe to come. Therese is seen writing the name Carol in her diary while she is laying in bed, it’s such an adolescence thing to do but the audience can see it as being romantic, where you write the name of the person that you like. The camera pans away from the name and gives a side view of Therese who looks like she is day dreaming.
The camera cuts away to the leading lady who is having lunch with a friend who apparently knows her, she asks Carol if she knows what she is doing, this friend is showing concern for Carol trying to make sure that Carol makes the right decision, but Carol smiles and shakes her head saying that she have no clue what she is doing. The scene appeals to audience because it shows that Carol is open to letting things happen whatever they maybe. She seems very happy.
The audience gets to see Carol interact with her husband and they come to realized that the marriage is not a happy one in one scene we see Carol and her husband having an argument and Carol pulling and walking away from him, the husband is showing anger to his wife, in another scene we can see the husband being angry also when he speaks to Carol’s friend demanding to know where is wife is.
Carol and Therese is seen driving on the road together maybe taking a trip and both women are very happy and laughing out loud, the then audience finally get to see the female be intimate with each other they realized that the woman have made a decision to be together despite knowing that Carol is married, it lets people know sometime you have to follow your heart and do what is right for you and not for other people. The audience can cheer for this couple for being strong enough to face their feelings. This trailer appeals to people who wants to see a true a real love story between two women, it’s a forbidden love story, the struggle that the husband is going through to hold on to his wife, the struggle the wife is going through because of these feeling is having for someone new and for the thoughts that she may also be losing her family. The struggles that Therese is feeling because she maybe be falling in love for the first time, the feeling of joy that the Therese is feeling at seeing someone she is attracted to and the possibility of it developing into something.
This movie is produced by the Weinstein Company which is one of the most popular production companies in Hollywood they produced movies like The Butler, The Imitation Game and Apollo 18, the movies garnered 276 nominations and won 76, it took the best actress award and the best cinematography award, it was also listed as one of the top ten movies of the year. All the actors in this trailer are very well known, actors like Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Kyle Chandler and Sarah Paulson who are amazing actors makes this film worth seeing.

The genre of this movie trailer is horror, it appeals to those of us who likes the element of surprise and being scared. This is the trailer for the movie The Nun which is the prequal to four prior movies which were all given 4 stars, during the trailer the titles of the prior movies were introduced to remind the audience of the effects those prior movies had on them. The excitement and buildup to this movie made it even more exciting for the fans to want to see it. The movie is set in the remote hills of Romania at aa cloister abbey. The trailer starts out with the portrait of a nun dressed in the habit with an extremely white face and having black eyes and a black mouth. The music starts out sounding a bit holy then it is quickly followed long sound while the camera fades away from the portrait and the sound of a bell is heard. While this is happening, you heard the voice of someone telling a story about having a vision of a nun. The light then fades away from the portrait with the only thing remaining is the piercing eyes of the nun which makes her look alive in the.  The pathos of these scenes is to fill the fans with dread, make them remember the scary scenes of the prior movies, and feel the fear for what is to come next, the image of a nun is supposed to fill people with hope and light and enlightenment and the sense of this portrait is the exact opposite of that. While this trailer scene is being shot you can hear the voice of someone explaining that they had a vision of the nun. The camera pans to the person with that voice and the audience sees that it is another nun, this nun is the opposite of the portrait of the first nun as in she is wearing all white and her appearance appears to be pristine with an angelic face. This nun has not taken her vows yet, hence the white habit and not the black and white one. Right away the audience can take away a battle is going to be between both of those nuns. The next scene in this trailer is the country side in which the abbey is located the camera shots cover the greenery or the country side, trying to elicit a feeling of beauty and peacefulness in the area, then it cuts away to show a glimpse of the abbey which is surrounded by graves. This feeling gives the audience a sense of dread that something is not right at the church. The next couple of scenes are inside the church there is no electricity or running water at the abbey, and the nun, and her companion is seen walking around with a lantern going down some unpaved stone steps. The writer of this story is trying to illicit the feeling from the audience of how separated the people at the church is from the rest of the town as in when you are out there, you have no help coming you are all alone with whatever you face, you will have to take care of it alone.  The name of the nun in black is Valek which is the name of a demon. The priest that is sent to the abbey with the nun calls out the name slowly and uses all pronunciation for effect, while holding a picture of the evil nun in his hand,  the trailer then cuts away to an old wooden door with a Latin inscription “Flnit hic, deo” meaning God ends here. The emotions now must be fear, you are inside of a church where God is supposed to be everywhere, and you encounter a sign of the opposite, the writer I think is trying strike fear in the hearts of the audience. The sign is meant as a deterrent, but the nun in white however and her companion the priest enter through the doorway still.  The nun in all white is seen walking down a long dark and smoky hallway with a lantern and then she hears a voice behind her saying “this way sister” the nun in white turns and finds a faceless nun behind her. The angle of the camera is length wise this way the audience cannot see what is coming from the side view and suddenly the evil nun appears and pushes the nun in white by the shoulders into the wall behind her. The scene cuts aways with the evil nun standing tall above the nun in white. The music that coincides with the push is a loud crash as the nun in white’s back hits the wall followed by a long drum like sound. This trailer entices people to come watch because it reminds them of the nun from the other movies. This nun is seen at the end of all the other movies if the audience ever sits and waits for the credits to roll and finish. The actress Taissa Farmiga that plays the nun in this movie is famous, she is also the sister to Vera Farmiga, the actress that is the star in all the prior movies to this one. The actress Taissa Farmiga appeared in AHS ‘Apocalypse”. The priest that stars along with the nun is also very well know for his tv series The Bridge and is known in other movies also. There are not a lot of action scenes in this trailer, this trailer is more suspenseful as it tries to get the audience drawn in on one thing then something suddenly appears to catch them off guard for the scare effect.
