MARLA GRAYSON, THE EVIL LIONESS I FELL IN LOVE WITH. ❤️

Woww Pike.. I love You...!!! These are my first words after watching the movie "I Care a Lot". I highly doubt if anyone other than Pike can pull off this character with such intimacy and style throughout the movie. Really admire the director Blakeson's thought and execution, especially the last shot of the movie . So I am going to tell you below why I loved Marla.
Marla introduces herself to the world as a ruthless, selfish business woman who preys on senior citizens and turn them into her cash cows by identifying flaws in the system and using them to her advantage .Although her idea isn’t surreal, I was amazed by the fact that even the best built social system in the world has this low level of airleaks.
1. There are two types of people in the world…
I was more attracted to the philosophy she follows and the firmness of her belief to it . She says. “There are two types of people in the world. The Predators and Prey. Lions and Lambs. You choose what you want to become…” She feels she is a lioness and never bows to anyone. I feel this level of conviction comes from a person who had a dark side in her past life , and someone who completely changed her beliefs to get out from it. I love to inspect these type of character's thoughts and feelings, and see how they take decisions in life. I like her lines because I believe in something which is synonymous to her thoughts..which is..
“ We are Living in a Jungle surrounded by all types of animals. You can be attacked anytime. So BE ALERT….”
2. When Things Don’t Go your way..
Even when she faced consequences for her foul-play, she still stands out as an formidable opponent. She didn’t fear death. I knew what I was watching was just a movie, but still I feel no matter who you are, if you are standing in front of a person like her and looking into her eyes, you would still be intimidated, atleast a bit. Everyone of us want to be a Marla at some point of time, do not fear anything even at the cost of our life . But can we really be one when the time comes???
3. No Guilt, But Carry the Sins
Any unconventional approach towards life doesn’t prove you to be right and you can’t last long , unless it doesn’t harm anyone either directly or indirectly. It's just a short term impact that these types of characters create. Marla had seen her rise and rise, and then suddenly she falls in a second and dies. She has no regrets, nor she feels guilty of the mistakes she made . I love the way last scene of the movie was picturised wherein after Marla got shot, she collapses on the road, looks into her partners eyes and dies. After she dies, her left shoulder which has a diamond ring will be bleeding blood on the road. This gives a philosophical touch to the movie , and tells us that no matter what you achieve in life, “you will bleed the same blood which you sucked once. “
As Always, i have my key takeaways from this movie, and look forward to see more characters like Marla.
TAKE A BOW PIKE FOR YOUR ACTING…
