i love the concept of a vampire priest because it either means that they're a priest purely for the aesthetic, which implies they studied at a theological seminary for at least 4 years, served as a transitional deacon, then went through the process of ordination literally just so they get to have some dead flowers and skulls and stand creepily in some pews with organ music, OR they're genuinely a devoted catholic and wanted to serve god & the church even as a vampire. both options are fascinating but frankly i think there should be more vampire priests who are genuinely devoutly catholic and are currently performing olympic level mental gymnastics to justify their partaking in the eucharist

As we near the conclusion of five seasons of podcasting about The Muppet Show, I wanted to give a little promo to this week's episode of Muppeturgy. We cover Carol Burnett's appearance on the show, a high-concept episode where Gonzo has co-opted the theatre for a dance marathon, thwarting Carol's hopes to perform her "Lonely Asparagus" number. The result is, in my opinion, one of the best episodes of the series.
To talk about this episode, my cohosts and I were joined by Jen Tullock, who you might recognize from Severance. The conversation is fun and wide-ranging, and I think you'll enjoy it.
You can listen wherever you typically find podcasts, or on our website at https://www.muppeturgy.com.

incredibly cool to discover the indie band I loved in high school, that disbanded when I was in college, released a from-the-vaults live album a couple of years ago

Oh wow, you got my ass with your demands that I apply AP style to my tumblr.

Status report: In the "Adventures in Staying Housed" dep't...
Greetings to the Bluesky folks who've dropped by! Just to confirm what's going on:
We're hoping to sign the lease on our rented house in a couple/few days (as soon as the dust from the St. Patrick's Day bank holiday has settled), but despite best efforts, we've got some rental arrears that we're very much hoping to be able to deal with in the short term, to make sure the signing happens. Some extra cash flow in the short term would therefore be a really big help.
With that in mind, may I possibly point you at the following SF and fantasy ebook bundles at our ebook store? All are DRM-free and come with our lifetime replacement guarantee if you lose the files or your reading device, change platforms, or whatever. (With this caveat only: due to Brexit, we can no longer sell into the UK. Our profound apologies.) And once you buy a book from us, you own it. Period.
Our store's full inventory of the revised/edited Young Wizards young adult SF/fantasy novels, and the interstitial works that go with them, is here:
All the current works in the LGBTQ-centered Middle Kingdoms adult fantasy universe are here:
And should you be feeling expansive, the bundle containing our entire store inventory—36 ebooks at present—is here:
...Finally: if you're all ebooked up at the moment, but you'd still like to be of assistance... after some public-demand style noodging, we've finally installed a Ko-Fi. If you choose to go this route, please consider yourself thanked in advance for your thoughtfulness! We very much appreciate it.
Thanks so much, everybody! ❤ ...And we very much look forward to enlarging your TBR pile.
(And our deepest thanks, also, to those who've already become involved in this effort, one way or the other. We're thinking of you with constant and amazed affection.)

It was the last days of Tik Tok, but Rose didn’t care. As far as she was concerned, her daughter’s talent had to be monetized, and that app was going to be the venue. But when the app shut down and her daughter split, Rose saw only one way forward. Her other daughter might not have what it takes to go viral, but on OnlyFans, anybody could he a star. All you had to have was No Talent.
