Instagram: @_herdesigns
Welcome to the main source of Her Designs in relation to HER ‘scavenger hunt’ of existing artworks. Series of posts are shared on Instagram at various times and days during the week. No structure or routine is required, as SHE considers HER practice to be about discovery and mystery. Through social media, SHE encourages HER followers to live day by day with the unknown knowledge of when updated works are going to be posted.
As society develops, technology continues to grow allowing individuals to communicate from far and beyond. Instagram is a significant resource as followers are able to bond and share similar interests with each other. Acknowledging interaction, sharing of comments, identifying location and contributing ideas of where the artwork is placed. Each post reveals two images, the design itself and the design within the located space.
Just like the artist HERself, the place and caption stays anonymous and audience members are given the option to search for the artwork and witness it in the flesh, or visualise it online.
However, artworks are removed from the destination until the next clue or artwork is posted on Instagram. Previous artworks can be found on HER Instagram account, but some posts may get deleted, due to the page continually being used as a ‘scavenger hunt’ resource. Although, HER entire collection can be accessed on HER website, https://itsherdesigns.wixsite.com/website. The account remains public for anyone to follow HER process, but SHE doesn’t follow anyone back because SHE wants to maintain HER anonymous identity.

Youtube: How does SHE do it?
Since SHE can’t reveal HER identity, SHE decided to upload a time lapse video of a one-time only preview of how one of HER artworks are created. Like artists, SHE still goes through a trial and error process, involving experimentation and patience while connecting to HER theme of get cre@tive with it.
As a creator SHE responds to HER mistakes by resolving the issues or developing new ways of fixing the problem, while resulting in an aesthetic experience. The video allows audience members to be involved within the process, outlining what software, tools and materials are used, as well as the time spent to produce this artwork. SHE uses a similar process for all HER artworks; however some are easier/ harder than others. Once this design was finished, it was then installed at an unknown location for viewers to locate via Instagram.
More process videos could be released on a further date, depending on the feedback SHE receives from this particular upload.

Website: Experience Her Designs
‘Experience HER Designs’, is another online website for HER audience to seek more information regarding the artist (even though not much detail about HER identity can be revealed). SHE created a website to be used as another resource for viewers who can’t access @_herdesigns on Instagram.
The website provides brief statements from the artist, as well as blogs that include reposts of artworks from HER Instagram account. However, this site isn’t first priority when it comes to updates on ‘scavenger hunt’ artworks, as these blogs are posted hours, days or weeks later than on Instagram. Although, HER website is the only online access to HER entire collection, as some artworks are deleted from Instagram or get lost within the public.
While staying anonymous, the design layout and images selected are similar to HER artworks in relation to them revealing small hints about HER identity. But HER artworks make viewers question if it is real, or is the image manipulated using Photoshop or online tools?

Behind the making of Her Designs
As the creator of Her Designs, hiding behind an anonymous identity allows the audience to recognise SHE for HER artworks, instead of HER appearance.
SHE uses a process of creating a ‘scavenger hunt’ for viewers to participate in, while locating HER work through the use of technology. SHE uses social media to release weekly works on Instagram for followers to find. The artworks reveal some characteristics of location; however, the design still remains an investigation. HER artworks are created from a photograph or scanograph (taken by HER), and is manipulated using online technology to process the image into a digital painting.
Unlike Her Designs, creative artists such as Banksy, Damien Hirst and Felipe Pantone share a similar process of creating behind this ‘anonymous identity’. Their art practice is captured through the impact of technology as shared works are posted online to promote contemporary art. Therefore, Her Designs focuses on capturing the attention from the audience, while making social media beneficial in relation to HER art practice.
Living under the influence of technology, SHE wanted to explore HER creativity, by allowing members to be a part of HER process of finding HER works within HER environment. SHE uses social media as a resource to share HER artworks amongst the public, while keeping HER identity unknown. Overall, SHE encourages HER viewers to get cre@tive with it.
