Tiny hands dotted in shiny ivory scales reached out for the dusty grimoire, flipping the pages carefully. Though the task was clear, her gaze kept wandering up to the magnificent starry sky. “Hǎo ba Mochi, jīn wǎn zúgòule. Gāi shuìjiàole.” Bright orange eyes flicked up to a beautiful Auri woman, long ginger hair curled around her delicate pale skin. “Okay momma… Goodnight stars!” She called out as her hand was taken, her mother leading the pair inside the cozy cottage, surrounded by a lush and well taken care of garden which thrived in the fertile Black Shroud. The child continued to clutch the magical book in her free hand, though she had no interest in the spells it contained, she knew her momma wanted to pass down her knowledge on “Sum-on-ing.” And besides, the carbuncle was cute and made silly sounds- when she was able to coax it from the special book. 

After a quick washing up and changing into cozy pajamas, the tiny Aura is swooped up by her mother and plopped down into her brand new big kid bed. “Momma, when does papa come home?” Her small voice squeaks as she’s tucked in, a kiss planted on her forehead. “Bǎobèi, tā hěn kuài jiù huì huí jiā.”
