CYBER SECURITY AND DISADVANTAGES OF ICT

Internet is very dangerous and yet there are still a lot of users of Internet or what we called netizens. Our computer and us are very vulnerable once we open our social media accounts, who knows what will happen internet attackers are everywhere, yikes!

But there are still ways to avoid them but if you're lazy enough to download well, I hope you will not caught up into something more serious than your relationship, kidding aside. Cyber security is our life saviour for it offers security through online services you can just download it free but some of this are paid apps, that sucks right?, but who cares we are talking about security this is also for your safety. Did you know that there were 5 major security problems namely;

Viruses

Hackers

Malwares

Passwords

Trojan Horses

I know you're familiar to these guys and we also know fhat they're not that kind where you can say it's just a piece of cake to get rid of them but noooo thay aren't.

Prevention is better than cure right? So to avoid these you should download and install security suites, use strong passwords, use firewalls, and activate network threat protection.

If there's advantages there will be disadvantages, so despite of being a great use to a lot of people still ICT has it flaws, everyone has it. This advantages results to cyber crime where illegal acts are done over the Internet.

Illegal doers take advantage of social media or internet in their dirty work, and yes money transactions made over the internet are faster no wonder why cases of cyber crime increases as years passes by. They took advantage of the internet how easy and convenient they are to use in just one click your life will change and millions of people will be the judge.

ICT PROJECT FOR SOCIAL CHANGE

So we all know we can use ICT in different levels, ICT change our lives it made our work a lot more easier. ICT can also be a medium where we can propose a project for the betterment of our society, there were a lot of websites or organizations in the internet where people convince their potential funders to invest in their campaign or advocacy. But first, you will need a concept paper to present it to your potential funders where they will read and analyze if your proposal is worth their time and effort.

ICT really did a great job in our lives, I can say, regardless of what other people had become when social media became popular, some people become addicted to it and became mean but look on the brighter side, ICT can still save people's lives.

INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA

RIVERDALE SEASON 4 OCTOBER 10th 🧐🤫

INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA are  any computer-delivered electronic system that allows the user to control, combine, and manipulate different types of media, such as text, sound, video, computer graphics, and animation.

We were task to embed video from YouTube, and I chose to embed the trailer of Riverdale season 4. This series are one of my favourites and it's story is full of mysteries, drama, romance, and comedy. You should try it and for sure you will not regret it.

We are in a generation were the use of gadgets and Internet are very rampant, we can see it everywhere and from this we can infer that people today are very active in using social media and such mediums. We can really tell that gadgets and social media are really helpful in our daily lives, we can just send and spread information in just a minute.

So because of the number of users and the convenience, we can use this as a medium for change and advocacy. Using social media can really make your post viral whether it's about someone who needs help, to campaign or advertise, or to send private messages.

Just like the EDSA revolution where they used the radio to inform a lot of people to come and join them to march and cry for freedom. The pork barrel scam where they used the Facebook to spread information about it.

As we can see ICT is very important to us it gives us the right benefits that we need tho it has it's bad sides but still, this can be a platform or medium for change.

COLLABORATIVE TOOLS

Have you wondered about collaborating with someone? Do you think collaborative tools will be helpful in your work? Well the answer go that is a very big YES!

Collaborative tools are very helpful to people who are far away from each other and decided to collaborate with one another. Using collaborative tools will make you at ease and make your work easy and effective.

Some examples of this are:

We all know that they were tons of facebook users so in this case Facebook will be a great tool to be used as collaborative tools, because this app is already easy and convenient to use for collaboration around the globe.

WordPress is famous among bloggers, this app helps bloggers to collaborate into one blog. Blog can be influencial and informative to many readers that are following them.

Yammers is an app or software that helps or allows companies to create their own website for managing purposes.

Trello is a helpful app for people who wants to organize their everyday to do list. Ma'am Irene group as into 5 and task us to make a trello account and to collaborate with our group mates and indeed I can tell this app is really helpful if you want to do something altogether and also to remind your groupmates what to do on a certain day.

CREATING WEBSITE USING HTML

Isn’t it amazing to create your own website? We used to think creating a webpage is very difficult and it will cost too much of your time but we thought wrong, it will just cost  minutes to create basic website with the help of HTML tags.

Are you wondering what is this HTML?

HyperTextMarkupLanguage or also known as HTML is a publishing language of the world wide web or www; the standard used to create webpages.This will help you to create the most basic webpage you could ever have.

But wait theres more, you should learn first the basic tags of HTML but before that your basic tools for this are:

After we learned about this we immediately go to the computer lab to create our own webpage and we created a sample webpage for GSDMSFI and I can say that I really enjoyed creating my website though there’s technical errors and made me lose hope but eventually I overcome it and successfully finished my work.

For this week we tackled about the online platforms for ICT content development, so what is this all about?

As you can see from the title this is all about websites whereas you can develop your own content, share, design and do whatever you want. In this way you can share and manipulate things that other websites can't make you do.

We also tackle about cloud computing, a software or application that you can edit and delete online.

August 8-9

So yeah we're at our infographics designing (imaging and design for online environment) we learned about every basic principles of graphic layouts so we can balance our icons, colorsand texts that we put on. So yeah like creating PowerPoints, making infographics is also my forte because again in my previous years I always edit stuff like infographics, flyers, brochures and tarpaulins. Editing is really my thing but I edit online and I only use Photoshop a little. So we also had our comlab activity which is fun and I quickly finished my work.

Finally my favourite topic, so in these days we tackled about advanced presentation skills. Our teacher taught as the basics on how to create a PowerPoint/presentation whereas I already have a knowledge because in my previous years we were always loaded in making PowerPoint presentation so I get to understand the lesson easily and when rha comlab activity hits, I finished my work quickly, creatively, and neatly. I really enjoyed having a comlab activity because I got to practice my skills.

July 25-26

Last week's activity we had our discussion and quiz and it's too fast for me the given time to study were so little i thought we would be given for like 10 minutes and I thought our teacher will let us finish copying whats in her ppt because she said that we will finish it, but it's okay I got the passing score. So again, we have our com lab and library activity this time we were task to use Excel and compute grades at first it was difficult for we dont know what will we gonna do and this time I'm in the first batch to go in the com lab so back with the topic we didn't see any demo so we seek help to our classmate who was good on these stuffs because he took ict when he was in 10th grade. But overall the experience was great and I realized how easy the task were.

Las last weeks were about using mail merge in Microsoft word. First our teacher told us to make a letter which includes 20 names, account numbers, interest and so on after this our teacher told us to go in the computer lab but the units there were limited so the first 25 goes in and the others will have a library activity and vice versa. The experience were so good I've learned a lot little did i know there were easy way to address a letter without editing it one by one.

Hey what's up yo guys it's me, back at it again with another blog. So last meeting our teacher gave us a 30 items quiz and fortunately I answered it with all my knowledge but I'm sure I have 3 items that were wrong because I forgot where those sites belong.

Our topic last week is all about NETIQUETTE, so what does this mean? Netiquette or NETWORK ETIQUETTE means the way you behave in all of your social media sites or any sites you had gone to.

Have we ever wondered about our whereabouts in the internet? If the sites we're going to is safe and reliable? If downloading something online won't do any harm in our PCs and laptops? In order for you to be safe and sound first you must know about:

Internet safety or online safety, this means trying to be safe on the internet and is the knowledge of maximizing the user's personal safety and security risks to private information and property associated with using the internet.

Internet security is a branch of computer security specifically related to not only Internet, often involving browser security and the World Wide Web, but also network security as it applies to other applications or operating systems as a whole.

Malwares or malicious softwares in layman's term virus, some example are:

Adware

Encountering one of these is not good your privacy and your computer will surely at stake.

Lastly, we tackled about copyright infringement, is the a violation, piracy of a copyrights holder's exclusive right. Most of us were doing this control c, control v here and there especially when doing research papers but copying and pasting is okay when we are putting credits to the rightful owner.

So tonight I'll be sharing about what I learned and my thoughts sa subject namin na ICT, at first i thought na we will use the Computer Lab agad agad so from that na-excite ako to the highest level plus the fact na I really love computers because I love what's on the internet lalo na mga social media accounts and online editing apps. So ayon na, as we're waiting for the teacher to arrive akala nga namin wala na kasi malapit na ang time pero gladly dumating rin naman ang teacher namin, hindi sya ang type na nakakaantok magturo in fact nakakagulat si ma'am talaga so ang mga diwang malapit na magsleep nabubuhayan. So dito sa first lesson namin akala ko talaga marami na ang na learn ko kasi since when I was a kid, I've been using computer na pero I was wrong talaga to the power of ten, naintroduce sa amin ang about sa web 2.0 which wala talaga akong idea at first kung ano talaga ito tho alam ko naman pero sadyang hindi ko lang talaga alam na these things pala are in this category. We all know diba some sites can't be manipulated or hindi tayo nakakapaginteract kung ano ang meron doon as is na yun magbabasa ka lang nothing less nothing more and that is called static while dynamic naman ay kabaliktaran nito, you can do watever you want, you can manipulate it, you can change its timeline and so on. Lahat ng ginagawa at kung anong meron sa web ay may corresponding terms like apps na may bayad its called longtail and so on, even our favorite ang Twitter diba doon it's kinda like a blog pero doon limited lang so it's called microblogging from the root word itself even sharing or uploading something this has also a term it's media sharing, these are only few examples of Trend in ICT. Sa web 3.0 naman as far as I remembered ay hindi raw Ito basta basta this is a complicated kind. I also learned about different Mobile OS tho some of it alam ko na like Android, IOS and so on pero pinaka napa wow ako sa OS na gamit ng Nokia which is symbian dahil my phone right now is Nokia pero I'm not sure baka ang tinutukoy kay yung dating uri pa ng Nokia. In the world of web, marami ka talagang matutunan about iba't-ibang terminologies and such I really learned so much talaga about web and I'm looking forward para sa susunod nanaman na meeting.
