“April… I don’t know how to tell you this, but…” Leo takes a deep breath. He doesn’t want to do this to Donnie, but this is a dishonor no one deserves, let alone April. “My brother is… cheating on you. With Casey.”

April stares at him for a long moment. Blinking slowly.

Then the side of her mouth twitches. And curls upwards.

April starts laughing. Laughing. About Donnie cheating on her.

Leo is confused, and a little offended.

“What?” He exclaims, a tad snappish. He’d been agonizing over this decision to tell April for nearly a week now, ever since he saw Donnie and Casey in the lab together, doing things.

“You’re cute,” April says, and pats Leo’s cheek. Then she pinches it hard with her slim but strong fingers. “But also invasive of privacy. Thanks for worrying, but we’ve got this under control.”

Leo winces as she releases his cheek, rubbing it as she walks out of the kitchen. He peeks through the curtains as she keeps going, right back to where everyone else is gathered around the television pit. Including Donnie and Casey, who are still sitting side by side and nearly sharing the same cushion. And April keeps walking, right over to them, and sits down on Donnie’s free side, getting a brief kiss from Leo’s sibling and then leaning around Donnie to Casey, and sharing a- oh.

Oh.

Leo’s worldview shifts, and from the teasing grin Donnie is giving him, he has been unfortunately left out of a loop.

Leo gives his brother a glare- because he’d actually been worried, thanks-  to which Donnie just cheekily grins, and puts an arm around the shoulders of both his partners.

Leo grumbles and puts a hand over his eyes. His brother, and April, very definitely Casey without a doubt, are all absolutely terrible.

At least they seem happy, laughing at him.
