"Yes!" Mary Jane shouted in agreement, clapping as the other girl did. She nodded as Lily spoke, laughing as well. All that ran through her mind was that this girl was funny and hopefully she wouldn't be a blurry part of the night come tomorrow morning. This woman was telling the truth about those ticket prices. "I know, right? It's insane! The amount of money I'd pay for a single ticket would probably be my entire life savings. Maybe that, I might be short a few cents." Mary Jane teased, though part of it was true. Buying one ticket would mean no groceries for a month at least, so the smart decision was to just have a fun, cheap night out. Clearly in her mind she chose the right option. "I don't know how some people afford it, but I'm happy just being here so that's all I need. I've  uh...got drinks, a dance floor, and a new friend!"

She definitely needs to go here more. Actually, she might have been once before but she’s not sure if that’s actually the case. By the end of bar crawls she doesn’t normally remember them. But it feels like deja vu, and she does have mutant friends that might go here. “Let’s be friends!” She claps her hands excitedly. “OMG same. Like I know Tony and he’s a bro and all but seriously $75 or whatever is, like, I could buy so many groceries with that.” Measure your life in eggs and milk is not really how the grad school life is meant to go but anyway that doesn’t really matter right this second. She would probably not stick out too much because she’s a journalist and they’re good at blending in. But she’s also a student and students don’t go to fancy balls.

mushu pork | Carol & MJ
It certainly was odd to hit it off with people you've never met before as much as MJ had with her new friend, Carol, but apparently it was possible. She sat in the restaurant at a table, browsing through the menu as she waited for the blonde to join her. Mary Jane was ready to eat - she had been at work all morning and had a show tonight, so this meal was definitely something she needed in her life, like an energy boost. Once she knew what she wanted she played on her iphone, making sure she had a reminder of what time she would need to leave to make it to the theater on time. The food smelled delicious and she already had her drink sitting in front of her, sipping it as she played with the straw in her cup. As the bell on the door rang to signal someone's arrival, Mary Jane looked up and smiled.

A grin spread across her face as the other girl spoke - making friends was always ten times easier when you were intoxicated. "It's nice to meet you too! Oh, I did. I love it as well." It made her happy that there was some place where everyone was accepted, a lot of places were skeptical about hosting superheroes, mutants, vigilantes, and anyone affiliated with them really. It was okay that people were afraid, but it wasn't fair. This club was much more Mary Jane's scene, anyway. "This place is neat. I've been here like once before, but it wasn't as crowded as tonight. The whole charity thing Tony Stark is hosting seems neat, but I'm a little too low on cash for that." She spoke, laughing as she did so. There was the fact that she didn't have enough money, but also she'd stick out in a crowd like that. The odd ball, no doubt. MJ was definitely lucky to have Club Trinity on nights like these, that was for sure.
Party Girls Don't Get Hurt || Club Trinity | Lily & MJ
That’s the best club outfit she’s seen this year. Why didn’t she have an idea as practical as that? Well, probably because she can’t pull off leather. White top and black skirt was not her best choice, though. White goes see-through. She smiles back. “Gingers unite! I’m Lily. It’s nice to meet you.” She’s not actually sure what is in what’s left of her drink. She just picked one with a funny sexual name off the special shots menu. It’s called Telepathic Orgasm or something. Bar’s fault for making them so full.
She feels like she has an instant new best friend, in that way only the drunk can. The logic being that they’re both ginger and in a club. “This place is awesome! Have you seen the girls with the wings? I love how accepting it is.” Screw Tony’s party. This is fun, and cheap. Rich people are welcome to their big damn charity stuff. She has SHOTS.

MJ ran into a girl, her drink splashing on her. She looked down at her top and laughed, shaking her head. "You're good. I planned for this." Mary Jane grabbed a rag from the counter and wiped it off her leather dress, which was the material she picked especially for this. It was easy to clean, and dance in. Finally she looked up at the other woman, a smile forming on her lips. "A fellow redhead out on the town I see. I'm Mary Jane, commonly MJ because it's easier." She spoke as she finished off the drink in her hand. It was whatever the special was, and it tasted good.
Of course this wasn't the ideal way to meet a new friend, with them spilling a drink on you. But really, she didn't mind. Everyone in here was clumsy or drunk, or clumsily drunk - so situations like this were expected.
The original plan was to come out tonight, dance, and get drunk have a couple drinks. MJ was single on valentine's day so she wasn't stuck making cliche and cheesy couple plans with her significant other like some people were, which wasn't bad in her eyes. Having a good time and being single was something she enjoyed, and she had a lot on her plate right now anyways. Relationships weren't a top priority, but beginning a new friendship could be.
Party Girls Don't Get Hurt || Club Trinity | Lily & MJ
This is the first time she’s been properly single on Valentine’s Day for ages. Last year she’d still been with that business student - and she’s not pining for him. Most certainly not.
No, she’s done with boys her age. And has moved on to unattainable men who’ve got probably a decade at least on her? Right. Great decisions, Lily. As usual. Normally she’d find someone to go home with as not to be lonely, but this time round that seems really unappealing.
God, Lily, go and get yourself a drink and snap the hell out of it. Of course, that’s not how this stuff works, and the bartender looks like she’s judging her after her 4th shot in a row. Fuck. She’s in a mutant club. What if the bartender is a mind reader? Moving away from her, clutching her last shot for now, she crashes into someone and spills half of it.
"Aw shit. I’m sorry."

"Alright then, it's nice to meet you Jess." MJ spoke on the dance floor as she moved to the beat with the other woman she now knew as Jess. It was hard to find someone to just hang out with and have a good time with in modern days with all the danger that waited wherever anyone went, especially in places like New York. It was probably number one on the danger list, honestly. But Mary Jane refused to leave - she had a life here that she didn't plan on giving up for monsters, gods, aliens, or anything else. Even without super powers MJ would choose to fight if it ever came down to it. Mary Jane swayed to the music, laughing as she did so. She was lightly buzzed, but still was concentrated. She came to party and have a good time, yes, but still planned to be alert. This club was mutant-friendly and was commonly criticized which made MJ worry maybe something bad would happen, but she hoped she was wrong. Trusting your gut wasn't always the right thing to do, right...
She continued to dance, but as the song faded out she slowly stopped and looked at the girl she'd been dancing with. "So, what brings you here Jess? Just a random decision or have you come here before?"
A night to remember...or forget (open)
Jess quickly stepped to the side to let the red head through, rolling her shoulders and arms a bit as she did so.  She scanned the dance floor once again, scouting for potential threats.  It was an unintentional habit that no amount of inebriation would ever get rid of.  The area seemed safe enough for now and she really needed to start cutting loose.
She smiled a little wider as the other girl turned around and introduced herself.  She felt her eyes lit up a bit more as she heard the girl ask her to dance. “Sure.  Name’s Jessica.  Though most my friends call me Jess.”
She offered her hand and gently guided MJ to the dance floor before the two faced each other and she could feel MJ’s hands wrapping around her neck and she placed her hands at the girl’s hips.  As the music continued to blare in her ears, she could feel both herself and the girl begin to sway and shake with the beat.

Nice to meet you, Logan. You gonna tell me what bullshit you're dealing with now? Or is this little chat gonna end awkwardly because you don't trust anybody, yet alone this weird red-head who came out of no where.

Logan.
Why was she speaking to him again? This girl had a glint in her eye that spelled trouble.

Good thing, sitting at home just wouldn't be right. Try and stop by Club Trinity - that'll be one decision you won't regret.
Tumblr media
Well see, now you’re making me regret my life decisions. But as luck would have it, I’ve been coaxed out of the house… so who knows, maybe you’ll get to see some moves after all.

Mary Jane had Valentine's plans for herself, and those plans were to simply go and dance the night away at Club Trinity. Once she arrived she got their special drink of the night and headed to the dance floor, mingling with those around her. It was a nice change of pace - she was constantly working whether it be at the theater or the cafe, so having some time to herself to just shake it all out was a huge relief. MJ wasn't saving the city, no, but she was attempting to live in today's crazy world without losing her home or job - so the stress levels still got high on occasions.
After about an hour of dancing she headed back to the bar, which was full and buzzing with people. She saw a girl standing there, and tapped her on the shoulder politely. "Hi. Sorry, but can I squeeze through. I'm gonna need another one of these." MJ laughed, pointing to the glass in her hands as she spoke to the other woman. She ordered another drink, putting her money and tip on the counter as she turned around and addressed the other girl again. "I'm MJ, by the way. Up for a dance?" Mary Jane questioned, raising an eyebrow and smiling as she took another sip of the drink in her hand. She knew in the morning she'd only remember bits and pieces of the night, so why not make some good memories to remember?
A night to remember...or forget (open)
Jessica took a deep breath as she exited the cab and walked towards Club Trinity.  Hopefully this would just be a nice night where she dance and shake her stress away and maybe meet a guy or girl that want to do that activity with her.
She stepped out of the cab and slowly walked towards the club, pulling the seven dollar entrance fee out of her purse, handing it to bouncer and walking into the club.  Loud techno music was blaring and she walked straight to the bar asking what the specials were.  She perked up at the mention of a drink called the Pink Elephant.  Asking what it contained she was told it contained lime, pineapple, tequila, champagne, and cherry syrup.  Sounded good.  She watched as the bartender mixed drink and slapped the money for the drink plus a decent sized tip.  The final drink was a pink liquid in a larger margarita glass garnished with a couple limes and included a an obviously cheap but sort of cool crazy straw.  She took the drink and started sipping it as she walked around the club.
She was ready to dance quite yet so she simply walked around util she found an empty couch and gently set herself down continuing to drink as she watched the other people dancing and mingling.  Jess rather like Club Trinity’s ascetic and policies.  She wasn’t a mutant herself (all tests for the genes had come up negative) but she could empathize with and somewhat relate to their plight having superhuman powers herself and having been aggressively demonized for her accidental use of them.
She felt a warm buzz wash over her as she finished her drink and returned to the bar gently placing the drink down across on the rubber mat before feeling a hand tapping her on the shoulder.  Taking a deep breath and smiling slightly she turned around to face whoever was trying to get her attention.

Great! What are you trying to write about? If you don't mind me asking, that is. I'm just constantly nosy.
You had me at Chinese. I think I read somewhere that book writing is way easier on a full stomach.

"Ya think?" MJ retorted teasingly, after picking herself up off the ground she was just huddled on. As Grant shot at them, she counted how many there were. Four maybe, and it sounded as if three had just been shot. It seemed like a small amount, but a lot of them were already on the lower level, dead or out of it. Mostly dead. Mary Jane entered the room slowly, examining every inch of it she could manage to see clearly. There was a door in the back of the room; hopefully the last door, honestly. She made her way there, slowly as she watched and made sure no one was left. An odd thumping sound occurred - MJ swerved around, shooting at the last man who she had missed by what seemed like a centimeter. A bullet hit her in the arm, causing her to curse under her breath. The man wasn't in sight so she hurriedly shot the lock on this door as she held her arm, standing against the door as blood ran down her arm. "Of course. Shit." Mary Jane muttered.

Well you could tell me it and I could give you my opinion. That, or we could go get some Chinese or something. Or both.
I just can’t get it to sound right. Writing is clearly not my strong suit.

What a shame, I was kinda looking forward to seeing some of your moves on the dance floor.
Tumblr media
Also; shameful. We could have had a pretty thrilling night out there.
Negatory, oh redheaded one. Netflix demands my immediate, undivided attention.
Tumblr media
Also; phrasing. I’m never above eating out, but my heart just wouldn’t be in it tonight.
